All the talk about Reconnecting With The Past is making me want to do Revan's eventual phone call with Maeve Campbell (Garvin's biological mother) You know, the one where the only thing he'd share about it at all would be Garvin's age. Because, yeah, he gets to figure that out. Yay. But uh. Mhm. Yeah. Nothing else is told to the polycule about them. Happens before Garvin dyes his hair, but after the DNA test (obviously)

Yeahhhh, all that makes sense And, yeah, poor Merlin, lmao Understandable- Bad news it that Ingall is an absolutely terrible liar Good news, he'll probably agree, go tell Revan where he's actually going, promise he's fine and will be back, and then request that Rev just say that he's going to stay either with someone like Kostas and Karma or just getting a hotel room for a night so he can get his symptoms under control before coming back, lol - Oooo, fun! I'd love to see that angst, haha - Also, sorry about the late reply, I had Thanksgiving (which, happy late Thanksgiving, by the way), and then had to work a shit ton and also study for finals, lmao - Also, also! I've made a child for the polycule, would you like to meet her? :D

You haven't responded yet, but I can feel my sleep meds kicking in and Imma pass out in a sec, so I'm gonna assume your answer is yes and give this to you before I fall asleep and make you wait XD - (Credit to あの子がこっちを見ている@picrew.me) - This is Leiani! Here's some fun info on her, lol Enjoy the fucking messy set up, I wrote this all so quickly, lmao Pronouns/Gender; Female. She/Her Age when adopted; Dunno, haven't decided yet, lmaooo Adopted from...; An orphanage, which, you know, wasn't great- Trauma?; You bet! Bullying and physical, verbal, and emotional abuse and neglect trauma and some other shit, ya know, the norm, haha Personality; Shy, quiet, smart, kind, empathetic, a literal angel, omg too precious- Favorites; Music (she loves listening to Nico sing and play, and she's learning to sing and play cello as well), Chess and other strategy games (only person she hasn't beaten is Akira, who taught her, lmao), Cheesecake (no explanation necessary), Baking (Ingall, Nico, and Leiani bonding time, haha), Animals (literally any kind), and many more to be discovered :D My personal favorite fact about her (so far); When the polycule first met her she was immediately obsessed with Revan because of his eyes. She actually walked up to him and very quietly just said "You have my eyes, I didn't know there were others with my eyes. I think yours are pretty, sir..." Which made Nico fucking die because it's adorable- And also sad considering Leiani was bullied for her eyes, but, you know- And the person working at the orphanage was stunned because Leiani basically never talks and now she walked up to a stranger and talked to him first And then it was endgame because there's no way in hell the polycule is leaving this child behind after that interaction and the information that they get about the bullying and the fact that Leiani never really talks, lol Edited at December 1, 2024 12:27 AM by Lost Memories

Yeahhh The major reason Devery doesn't want Ingall to tell Garvin is because of how finicky Garvin is about his safe places. Garvin has few things in life and really does tend to be very possessive of the few things he has. Devery's apartment is supposed to be a place where he can go. Devery doesn't want to risk him never showing up again just because Ingall needed to stay for a bit. Of course, Devery's not going to tell Ingall either though because knowing Ingall, he probably wouldn't stay over if he knew. So... Yeah. And, of course, if Garvin did know he wouldn't be telling Ingall the reason why, he would be trying to hide it while also, uh, losing Devery's apartment as a place he can go to and whatnot. - Ha, might do that then. Shouldn't take too long to do, honestly. - The late reply is just fine- I was busy with Thanksgiving too (happy late Thanksgiving!) I just hide as much as possible during the holidays soooo. Yeah. - You were definitely right about my reply going to be yes! (Fun fact, I woke up at like, 1 AM but decided to go back to bed without checking anything because it was cold,, so, blame the weather for when my reply is haha-) And awwwwww, Leiani is so adorable and I absolutely love her. She's precious. So cute. So sweet. Garvin probably didn't meet her until the polycule got back from the orphanage because this guy literally cannot handle getting within eyesight of an orphanage without it securing a breakdown for later or right then. Let alone going inside of one. Probably for the best he can't go inside of one without it being a major trigger though, he'd end up trying to adopt all of the kids. He wouldn't want to leave anyone in the orphanage.

Oh, for sure. If Ingall heard that he'd for sure be looking for some place else. Or, you know, ignoring that he's struggling in the first place and just deal with it XD - Totally fair, lol - It is fucking freezing, I hate winter so much, haha Yeahhh, that makes sense. Akira will also be struggling, but they'll mostly just ignore it and probably have a bit of a breakdown later, but oh well. Certainly not as bad as it could be all things considered- And yeah, Leiani is honestly going to be so confused though. Because, like, why would anyone want to adopt her? Isn't she the weird kid? Definitely gonna need some therapy pretty quickly The good news is she'll be distracted by her initial obsession with Revan. Like, nothing will probably really sink in until she stays the first night with the polycule because she's so excited that she found someone else with eyes like hers who also seems to be well respected and treated nicely, so she'll likely end up asking quite a few questions and becoming somewhat clingy to Rev before the adrenaline runs out and the trauma kicks in, this selective mutism takes over again XD

Yeahhh So Devery isn't going to be telling Ingall and is going to be making sure that Ingall doesn't tell Garvin. - I'm already like... Halfway done with Revan's call with Maeve. Most of the beginning is literally just recapping the fact that Garvin's not doing too well. From Revan's perspective this time. Also helps a little to show how Garvin tends to be. Because uh- Surprise, surprise, there's a reason why most of the short stories I write take place after Garvin finding out that his birth parents are still alive. And it's because it kind of, uh, opens the floodgates. Makes it a little harder for him to really fake his way through everything. Just a little. You know, given that it proves, at least to him, pretty much all of his fears and insecurities and whatnot. So. Yeah. - It's so cold. I don't hate winter, but I do not like the cold much. I am already usually cold. In even summer. So extra cold is not appreciated, haha. - Garvin would try to ignore, admittedly, if not for the fact that even just seeing an orphanage will, at least half of the time, result in a switch, going completely non-verbal, panic attacks, flashbacks, or any of the above in any combination. Dude was barely even five when he got kicked out of an incredibly abusive orphanage, he is not doing very well near one. And that's just seeing one. Being in one is even worse, as one could probably expect. Haha, Revan of course is going to make sure the child gets therapy as soon as she's ready for it. He'll answer all of her questions as well as he can, for sure. He had a neice, once upon a time, so he has some experience with kids and most of it is good experiences actually. I'm sure Nico will probably be good at helping with the selective mutism. And if all else fails, we've already talked about how the polycule definitely learns sign language, soooo- They're prepped.

Fair on his part, lol - Amazing, I'm very excited! I keep getting distracted with Reconnecting With The Past because now I have another couple story, quotes, and song ideas- I plan to still get it up before the other stories though at least, but I'll honestly probably do the quotes and maybe a song or two first, oops XD - Yeahhhh I very much hate winter, as I also run cold, but I also get what's either terrible seasonal allergies or a shit ton of colds/mild sickness during winter. Plus some seasonal depression on top of my normal depression Christmas is mostly good, but otherwise, it sucks :') - Mhmmmm, probably best he avoid them, haha I love that so much And, yep! Nico will be a big help, at least for the most part of it, though sign language is also probably a good thing, lmao - Also, one of the new story ideas I have is with Leiani's adoption/first meeting the polycule, but there's several things we'd have to figure out first, like- How many other kids would the polycule already have? I know we briefly mentioned Cassandra would probably be one of the first, being found on the streets and all, so do we think she was first, probably? If so, I feel like Leiani would be a good second adoption because, at least compaired to the vauge idea I have for my second creation, she's probably a lot easier to deal with, lmaoooo

Haha, that's totally fair I keep getting distracted too Very excited for literally anything you make though Realized that I have no idea what year it is in AFCS so finishing the call between Revan and Maeve Campbell is kind of hard now lmao - That seems fair. I tend to get worse seasonal depression in spring and summer- Which is hilarious given Garvin and all lmao - Yeahhh, definitely best he avoid them. Sign language and Nico for the win! Cassandra could totally be first, and then Garvin wouldn't be all upset he can't go with the rest of the polycule to the orphanage too. He gets to stay home with Cassandra, who most certainly be worrying them adopting someone new would mean getting rid of her. Garvin reporting to duty for the newest street rat, no worries lmao Love the dea of Leiani as a second adoption, especially due to the above too and all. Definitely think a little sister would be the easiest adjustment for Cassandra too haha And, of course, I love the hints of your second creation, however vague of an idea they are. Garvin will adore them for sure. Difficult to deal with kids are just amazing to him. He 100% believes he was a difficult kid to deal with, so he absolutely ends up super proud to be a parent of a difficult kid. He loves all the kids equally, but difficult ones and/or street rat ones hit a little closer to home than the shy ones and/or 'well-behaved' ones. They're just easier for him to connect with usually. Like with Akira and him trusting each other a different way than they trust the others in the polycule.

Oof, yeah, I never even thought about that, haha - Fair, but also, oh no, don't let Garvin rub off on you too much, that would be bad, lmao - Yeah, that sounds good! I also kind of had the thought that Garvin may have an easier time if Cassandra was already with them, lol And that makes sense for sure, Akira's similar, though Ingall has an easier time with the shyer kids for a similar reason, he sees a lot of himself in them, while Nico is directly in the middle. Like the empath she is, able to connect with and understand jut about anyone XD Just gotta be careful not to overstep it- Okay, next question, haha What do we think the kids would call each of the polycule (those who are comfortable calling the polycule something other than their names, that is)? I feel like Kiki might honestly work for Akira, since it's not their actual name and feels similar to 'papa' with the repetitiveness of it. Nico would honestly be fine with anything, gendered or not, like if they wanted to call him 'mom,' they'd be fine with it. Ren/Renna/Renny and Zaza/Zeze/Zari as gender-neutrals would aslo work well And Ingall is fine with anything that you would normal call a mom or a dad, honestly (because even though he's cis, fuck gender roles, lmaooo). Other than 'Father' or 'Mother' because that feels too formal and gross to him

Yeahhh I know we said futuristic but like... I've got no clue because also, uh, Star Trek. - Oh no worries! If anything, I rubbed off on Garvin. Given that my spring/summer seasonal depression has been here longer than Garvin has lmao - Yeahhhh, Garvin definitely having an easier time if Cassandra's already there. Revan gets along with every kid too probably, if I'm being honest. He was kind of a difficult kid and he was also kind of a shy kid. He got experience in both boats, and just with kids in general. Admittedly, the easier to deal with kids are, well, easier to deal with for him. Garvin and Akira are probably the best with the more difficult ones. Oooo, I love that question- Revan probably gave them the option of either his name, Rev, dad, or father. Cassandra for sure started with Revan, then moved to Rev, and then started calling him Father as a joke but it just stuck. Garvin also probably gave them the choice of his name or literally whatever the fuck they wanna call him. He doesn't care at all. Cassandra started with Garvin, and then started calling him swears. Just to see what she could get away with. And Garvin just kept laughing every time, totally okay with it, so it was great. The first time Cassandra calls him anything else- It's Pops. And the two are kind of quiet for a second because of fucking course they are, and then Garvin just bursts out laughing. And Cassandra laughs soon after. And when Garvin, while still laughing, asks why Pops, Cassandra says something about the overalls and they laugh more. Yeah, uh, that idea has been in my head way too much. Anyways. Garvin's probably got the country-esque ones. Like 'Pops' or 'Pa' or even 'Ma' whenever one of the girls of the system are in front. (Or just whenever too, because Garvin does not give a shit about gender roles. He doesn't really understand them.)
