Just realized I have a question for the short story How long would Briar stay with the polycule (excluding Garvin obviously) after calming them all down, at least a little? - Also, the more I'm writing short stories with Garvin the more I'm noticing BPD symptoms. I had assumed that this could potentially be explained by DID instead. But for funnsies, I decided to see if BPD and DID can be comorbid. And uhhh Yeah. They definitely can. In fact, a good 30%-70% of people diagnosed with DID are also diagnosed with BPD. So. Uh. Yeah. I might need to do some looking into that for Garvin lmao He definitely hits that deep seated fear of abandonment. Oops. Edited at November 12, 2024 03:34 PM by Overthink101

I love all of that! - As for how long Briar would stay after? Hmmm, it'd probably mostly depend on three things- One, how Nico is. Like, they tend to get really clingy after a meltdown, so it would probably depend on if she was clingy with Briar or one of the others Two, if there's any communication between them and Aries specifically telling them to or not to come back And three, if they can tell there's tension between any of the polycule. Like, if Revan and Akira looked like they might start an argument, Briar would probably stick around to mediate. If everything with the polycule seemed fine and they didn't get any communication with Aries, they'd probably wait for a couple of hours at least to head back so Aries had some time to work with Garvin. - Garvin just keeps picking up mental illnesses, poor guy XD

Haha, very fun. Very fun. I'm actually working on the argument too now because I decided 'why not' It'll be the first installment of the 'Keeping Cards Close' collection, which is just going to be a collection of short stories of Garvin being a liar. So maybe that'll help once that's done. - Well, I mean- He got that ADHD and 'Tism from birth. And then, well, all the genetic predispositions from his parents definitely aren't helping. More susceptible to mental shit, oops. And then also just his hand in life in general has been... Bad. Also, I read once somewhere (though I cannot fact check it so grain of salt), that it's apparently like 'buy one get fifty free' once you get diagnosed with one thing, so. Seems fair enough. He do just be collecting these mental illnesses though Still trying to do more research though first lol

Mhmmm Wotking on the short story, which is called It's Sow! Because the saying is 'Reap what you sow' not 'Reap what you sew' and the two in Patchwork are called 'Sewing' and 'Reaping' and it's all interconnected in the most hilarious of ways Anyways, Garvin's totally reading into why Revan wants him to bring up antidepressants the wrong way. My guy is like 'Obviously there's an ulterior motive here somewhere, why else would my boyfriend want me to bring up something that could be potentially helpful to me at my next appointment?' He's such a dumbass Also very fun is that we finally see more of Garvin's trust issues up close and personal, which usually take a backseat in comparison to his self-hatred and all. I mean, you can still read into the trust issues by way of his self-hatred. But it definitely comes off more as self worth issues and self-hatred rather than trust issues. So. We get to see more of the trust issues. Fun. Edited at November 12, 2024 11:27 PM by Overthink101

Okay, so, actually need to know something- Would Akira still be on Garvin's side if his reaction to Revan bringing up the last suicide attempt and not wanting him to end up in the hospital again was to basically say not to take him to the hospital then?
