Nico, on the first night after Garvin's death, realizing that Briar's fully unconscious and everyone else is pulling away and not letting them near: "I've seen dark before, but not like this. This is cold, this is empty, this is numb..."

Nico, slipping into a depressive state without any support, very much ready to just give up at first: "The life I knew is over, the lights are out. Hello, darkness, I'm ready to succumb."

Nico, thinking back on his relationship with Garvin and what all they've lost: "I follow you around, I always have, but you've gone to a place I cannot find. This grief has a gravity, it pulls me down..."

Nico, visiting Garvin's grave, looks exhausted, upset, and scared: "And with the dawn, what comes then, when it's clear that everything will never be the same again?"

Nico, suddenly remembering Sol and making a split-second decision to contact them and get Garvin back, no matter what cost, the voice referring to Sol: "Then I'll make the choice to hear that voice and do the next right thing!"
