Yes, I changed Austin to 'this place' because I was too lazy to actually decide a name for the kingdom they're all in. Anyways! Enjoy this very low effort song thing!
Song: Rock And A Hard Place by Bailey Zimmerman.
(With some slight adjustments to the lyrics to avoid as much repeating and make it more accurate to characters in certain places)
Characters:
Revan and Garvin.
Context:
As I mentioned, Revan and Garvin have the worst arguments. Arguments that can leave the entire place on edge for days afterwards, arguments where Garvin’s silver tongue (and way of dealing with trauma, which is basically to ignore it unless if he can use it to make a point) and Revan’s tendency to lash out mix in the worst of ways. They’re both very good at figuring out exactly what would hurt the other most. And since most of the arguments, not all though, happen when one of them is already having a bad day? It really is better for the two to just avoid each other whenever the other isn’t doing too well.
Anyways! The actual context for this is after one of their arguments. I like to think it’s them having what’s basically the same conversation with someone after it. Like one of their other partners or a mutual or separate friend. (Though, honestly, Revan doesn’t have many separate friends haha, anyways-)
Deciding which one(s) is difficult though, ha. Hmm. Probably Nico for Revan. Probably Devery for Garvin, honestly. Dev is the first guy Garvin tends to go to, as we know. Either Dev or Akira. Honestly- Maybe Akira actually, since I’m sure Akira would totally follow Garvin after the arguments to try and make sure he doesn’t do anything. Literally just them echoing the exact same conversation. I love these two—

*So, not their first argument. But definitely a terrible one. Akira follows Garvin, Nico tries to talk to Revan. Enter the following echoing conversations.*
Garvin; “We've been swingin' and missin', it ain't broke yet, but damn, it needs fixin'.”
Revan; “Been a while since his kiss felt like kissing… It's just different.”
Revan, to Nico; “We've been talking about forever since we've been together, something about a ring makes you think we're better off with—”
Garvin, to Akira; “—All this but we're caught in between a rock and a hard place… Red wine and mistakes… Tears rollin' down his face, when I walked out that door.”
Revan, to Nico; “—And that's when I lost it, a midnight in this place… Damn, I'm exhausted… What the hell's this all for?”
Garvin; “Is this where it mends or it breaks? Between a rock and a hard place…”
*Skippity, skip? Skippity skip. As that is no doubt their last argument, haha. This time around, Garvin ends up talking to Devery. Nico and Revan have a much easier time starting the conversation, and it ends up being more productive too.*
Garvin, to Devery; “For the record, shit, throwin' in the towel takes some effort.”
Revan, admitting for once how much he cares, finally; “So I'd rather ride it out for better weather… Together.”
Revan, echoing that conversation again, wow, still to Nico, yay; “Between a rock and a hard place… Red wine and mistakes… Tears rolling down his face when he walked out that door.”
Garvin, echoing that conversation, woooo, this time to Devery; “—And that's when I lost it, a midnight in this place. Damn, I'm exhausted… What the hell's this all for?”
Revan; “Is this where it mends or it breaks? Between a rock and a hard place…”
Garvin, to Devery still; “They’ve been talkin' 'bout forever since we've been together… Somethin’ 'bout a ring makes ‘em think we're better off with… All this but we're caught in between a rock an’ a hard place…”
Revan, still to Nico; “Tears rolling down his face…”
Garvin, to Devery still, trying to not admit how much he cares; “As I walked out that door.”
Garvin and Revan, in totally different places, having the exact same conversation with someone else instead of talking to each other like a pair of idiots; “And that's when I lost it, midnight in this place…”
Garvin, to Devery, trying to figure out if it’s worth fixing; “Damn, I'm exhausted… What the hell's this all for?”
Revan, to Nico, trying to figure out how to fix things; “Is this where it mends or it breaks? How much more of this can we take?
