Okay, decided that Loser, Baby would be the quickest to do so- Here's that! Enjoy!
Song: Loser, Baby from Hazbin Hotel.
(With some slight adjustments to the lyrics to avoid as much repeating and make it more accurate to characters in certain places)
Characters:
Spade and Ler/Navis.
Context:
Before Spade had joined, he was David King. And David King had been powerful. He had been the best at what he did. Which was scamming people out of money at casinos he didn’t own nor work at by use of his cards, and he scammed both guests and workers of the houses. Turns out, that was a terrible idea that didn’t end well. Who would’ve thought? Not David, he’d been sure he could manage, that he was too far ahead of the game to ever have to worry. Not like all of these people didn’t deserve his scamming, after all. But, it didn’t end well. He’d ended up losing his cards, except the one that isn’t able to be lost, and working for the ones that took them. And that was that, that was going to be his life, that was going to be all there was for him. Until Flood showed up with his two steadfast friends, Aqua and Jinx. Long story short, he didn’t get his cards back but he did get out and join the three. (Eventually, he does get all of his cards back, but that’s after Navis has already joined.)
Meanwhile– Before Navis joined, he was just Ler Norbert. His life hadn’t been great, to put simply. But it accumulated to him being indebted to someone who was… Less than ideal to be indebted to. Which was terrible mostly because of the fact that having an ability that makes you not take care of yourself at all while using it and someone having you use it near constantly for them kind of isn’t a good mix. Did he turn to the wrong stuff when he wasn’t at the aforementioned person’s beck and call? Yeah. And when the quad showed up and ended up trying to get him to join, did he argue and refuse? Also yeah.
Funnily enough, Spade was the one to convince him to try and get out. The other three had given him time and space to do so when he’d assured them that he could. (Eventually, Flood would be able to use his ability to cancel out Navis’ ability long enough to get him away from the person he was indebted to, but, well, I get ahead of myself.)

*This song literally works so well for the conversation Spade had with Ler to get him to join the group. Like, wow. It’s amazing. Anyways, some actual context. Ler and the group had argued about Ler joining, with Ler basically refusing and trying to insist he didn’t need nor want to. They had all ended up having this argument on the rooftop of some bar. The rest of the group left just after Spade had assured them he could totally convince Ler on his own.*
Spade, walking over to Ler slowly, who is sitting down on the ledge of the roof; “So things look bad, and your back’s against the wall… Your whole existence feels fucking hopeless… You’re feeling filthy, as a dive bar bathroom stall. Can’t face the world sober and dopeless…”
Spade, settling down next to Ler, leaning over to look him in the face; “You’ve lost your way… Ya think your life is wrecked… Well, let me just say you’re…”
Spade, grinning; “Correct.”
Ler, looking over; “Wait, what?”
Spade, throwing an arm around Ler; “You’re a loser, baby! A loser, goddamn, baby! You’re a fucked up little whiny bitch!”
Ler, pulling away; “Hey!”
Spade, still grinning; “You’re a loser, just like me.”
Ler, standing up and starting to walk away; “Thanks, asshole.”
Spade, following; “You’re a screws-loose boozer, an only one star reviews-er. You’re a power-bottom at rock bottom— But you got company!”
Ler, sarcastically, looking over; “This supposed to make me feel better?”
Spade, shrugging; “There was a time I thought no one could relate to the gruesome ways in which I’m damaged… But letting walls down, it can sometimes set you straight! We’re all living in the same shit sandwich.”
Ler, stopping and turning to Spade; “I sold my soul to a psychopathic freak.”
Spade, raising an eyebrow; “Haha– And you think that makes you unique? Get outta here, man! We’re both losers, baby! We’re losers, it’s okay to be a–”
Ler, interrupting, trying to prove a point and get Spade to give up; “Coked up, dick-sucking hoe?”
Spade, grinning wider, making his own point to Ler; “Baby, that’s fine by me!”
Ler, slowly, hesitantly; “I’m a loser, honey… A schmoozer and a dummy… But at least I know I’m not alone..?”
Spade, absolutely astounded that this is actually working; “You’re a loser–”
Ler and Spade; “Just like me!”
Spade; “I got an appetite for gambling!”
Ler, a bit more confidently; “I got an appetite for sampling every drug and sex toy I can find!”
Spade, throwing an arm around Ler again; “Go ahead baby, sing that song, come on!”
Ler, a lot more confidently; “I’ve got holes left to deflower!”
Spade, referring to the casino he left; “I sold my soul to save my power! Now I’m on that demon’s leash…”
Ler and Spade; “I’m trapped and it gets worse with every hour!”
Ler, grinning; “You’re a loser, baby…”
Spade, agreeing and broaching the subject of Ler joining; “A loser, but just maybe if we…”
Ler and Spade, a bit hopeful; “Eat shit together, things will end up differently…”
Spade, pulling Ler towards the door (towards the group, more metaphorically); “It’s time to lose your self-loathing! Excuse yourself, let hope in, baby! Play your card, be who you are!”
Ler and Spade, going through the door to find the rest of the group; “A loser, just like me!”
