My goats are all happy girls. Well, one of them is actually really sick right now, but we're treating her. The vet said she isn't absorbing anything she's eating, it's just passing through her. 😢 They did have their babies! We had twin boys (their parents produce babies that get 87-90 ratings, so of course they're boys lol), two girls and a boy, and a single girl that we'll be keeping. *v* You should go to my thread (click) so you can see all the little bab pictures *^* Viviren said: How are goat things going by the way? They were pregnant when I took my break, you got babies now?? You HAVE to send me pictures c:< If you do I shall finally go get new pictures of ours from this year. They aren't cute lil baby faces anymore but they are still adorable haha Meian said: Did you just join the alliance? :3

Awwww iris is sooo cutttee >*^*> I feel you on the sick- our goats have been struggling with barberpole/HOT complex. no amount of shoving wormer down their throats seems to help ;w; Is there something wrong with her? Like did he find anything via fecal or blood sample? Meian said: My goats are all happy girls. Well, one of them is actually really sick right now, but we're treating her. Thank you :3 Oh no, I've heard that's hard to deal with, and it seems you're experiencing those difficulties right now. >.< He drew blood, did some expensive test, and then found out that she's got low protein and a red blood cell deficiency. He gave us the daily injections and then suggested we shove as much food in her as we can get her to take, but she's refusing everything (even bread) unless I take her out of the pen to browse alone. :(

You may have to consider tube feeding her- we had one come down with some tick disease that basically casued Johne's sypmtoms & a 107 fever for 2 weeks but had to be treated with an antibiotic and a week in the vet's office. Our vet showed us how to do it, and tubed her for us a few times as well. - Our goat group lady on FB has a downed goat recipie that is like a last ditch effort kind of thing- it has beer, sweet potatoes, eggs, spinach, thamine, and some other things in it but basically it's a protien & antibodies bomb. It works if you have nothing else to try and it comes down to it :( - Are you giving her iron injections? You can try red cell as well if you run out of iron- we use the equine stuff. Also vitamin C helps with the absorbtion of iron and is perfectly safe to feed to goats- you might see if she likes the chewables! We gave them to our girl when she went down and she ate them like candy - You could also try putting some peanut butter on that bread- some goats like it. @Viv, Darn, I wish I'd seen that sooner. :( She died on the 24th, and I didn't have time to go on WP because I was so stressed/ busy with school starting up, and that's another reason I didn't have more time to put into her. I'll definitely keep all this stuff in mind in the future, thank you so much! (In fact, I'm adding it to my goat forum so I have it saved there.) . I will definitely be more of a helicopter mom if any of my other goats display similar symptoms. It turns out it was really bad worms, even though she had been wormed, and (even though the others have been wormed as well) I'm considering giving the others some herbal wormers that I've heard really great reviews about from seasoned goat owners.
