Really? I just got into ants because when Sjuk started keeping Solae, I found out that they were more interesting than I thought. It's cool that ants bury their dead.

Well I don't believe that they technically "bury" their dead. But they place dead ants in a designated spot like a cemetery or grave though.

It's super cool, ants have designated waste spots for feces and even food scraps they don't want to eat, and in that waste spot sometimes they'll put the bodies of their deceased workers! This can be a pain for keepers, though, because we gotta keep their habitat clean in order for them to truly thrive, and these waste spots are a breeding ground for ants' worst enemy- mold! 😱 Luckily, we have cleaner crews of smaller insects like isopods and springtails that can maintain cleanliness for us!
