Name: Michael Shane Evans
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Graysexual
Role: Descendant of Reaper
Relationship with Power:
Primary: It's a cool power in his opinion, the ability to teleport anywhere he has been to. He has used it a few times before, he doesn't tak advantage of it all too much, being told to keep low key and all that; and he doesn't want to be overly reliant on it.
He'd used to have trouble with using it. It was a struggle to even get to the next room. And then he'd appear on a table or something, once or twice he had even gotten into a trash can, of all things. He had broken a few things that way, at least they weren't really valuable. Now, he has improved his ability by a bit; he has much less trouble with the whole thing, it's not quite second-nature yet, but almost.
Secondary: For this one, having just gotten it, he has little experience with it. A better phrasing, is that he is unable to control this new power. It personally creeps him out, the whole spirit thing; he also doesn't like the sound of the whole...spirit possession thing.
Appearance:
Standing at 5'7, Michael isn't the tallest person in a crowd, but isn't the shortest either. He is slender in build, which makes him seem almost delicate. But he isn't one to be underestimated. He possesses a surprising amount of strength for his appearance, something he clearly got from his father; a man who had been tall and slender, and impressively strong. His body is strong and athletic from regular use: running, climbing, and swimming among other things have built up his physical strength.
Michael has a naturally pale skin tone, that usually has a light tan in the seasons where he can be outside more. He has the kind of skin, that no matter how much he's out in the sun, it will only get a light tan; not that he wants a darker tan that is, he's usually careful with his skin in regards to sun damage. He has a few scars here and there, mostly from accidents. Nothing really notable and not visible underneath his clothing.
His hair color is black, a straight black, dark as a clear night with no moon to illuminate the sky. He isn't a fan of long hair so it is cut short; though recently he had been talked into letting it grow a little longer, just past his eyes. So now, his hair style is a bit different than the simple, just leave it how it is, attitude Michael usually takes. With the current length, he is now combing the left side of his hair back behind his ear, except for a lock that would not go back without it looking weird, so it currently in front of his ear in its natural place; the right side is not combed back and instead is left in its natural position beside his eye, making it look longer than the other side. On the right side, a lock of hair curls away from the main chunk of hair, the piece has a little split in the middle so that it looks like it is two pieces; the tips end just above his eyebrow. It isn't a complicated hairstyle, quite simple, and it compliments his face. He is quite close to just getting it cut again, he still doesn't care for long hair; it's amazing that he's kept his hair that length for as long as he had. Speaking of hair, he doesn't really have a lot of body hair. He was told by his father that he has some native American in him as an explaination.
Michael's face shape that is soft but kind of angular, if that makes sense. He does have sharper facial features, but unlike some, his face isn't all sharp edges.
While most of him is not particularly attention-grabbing in appearance, his eyes are certainly eyecatching. They are colored gray. Not a shade of blue that looks light gray if you glance at them, not gray-green or a different shade of blue-gray. No, they are a true gray. It is a highly recognizable eye color, to say the least; one does not simply come across a person with eyes the color of stone everyday, after all, gray is one of the most rarest human eye colors around. Sure, green, blue, and amber, are among the rarest as well; but one typically sees those colors more often than true gray. The shape of these eyes are upturned, meaning that they are slightly angular, the outer corner has a slight life, and is reminiscent of a cat's eye.
Something unnerving about Michael, is his gaze. There is a cold, calculating look in those striking gray eyes. It is one that can make the back of one's neck prickle when being stared at for any length of time. Like he is sizing them up, analyzing, picking out their strengths and weaknesses.
Michael is a handsome young man, not the kind that turns heads wherever he goes, but still attractive in his own right.
His natural way of movement is quiet. Not entirely silent, but quite hard to hear unless it is very quiet or if one is specifically listening for those steps. As a result, he has startled many others, including his own family, by them turning around and then seeing him there when he wasn't there previously. Some find it a bit unsettling how he can so easily come up behind them with barely a whisper of noise; or to turn their head and find him beside them or in a different location than they last saw him in. And no, he wasn't using his teleportation ability in those circumstances. It is a skill that is helpful though, unnerving qualities aside.
Michael has a British accent, more or less light , it is enough to be noticable but not really enough to alter the way he speaks; it can get thicker, usually when he is startled or scared. He got it from his mother, who was born in London. It's a more upper class sounding one, from his description, not whichever one has the more (in his opinion) lower class, slang accent. Combined with how he speaks softly most of the time, he has been told he sounds quite charming; he doesn't care for this description of his voice though.
Attire & Accessories:
Michael wears regular, practical clothing. He isn't fond of flashy or particularly eyecatching things, jewlery and clothing alike. For warmer weather, a T-shirt and athletic pants; for cooler weather, it's a long sleeve, a jacket if it's cold enough, and still athletic pants. He just likes those pants, they are tight enough around the waist to stay on even when he is really active; loose for optimal range of movement without being restricted, yet firm enough around the waist to prevent them from falling down. He actually doesn't know the correct term for those pants. He carries at least one knife on his person, just in case he needs it. He will wear shoes until they cannot be worn anymore.
Personality:
Michael is a bit of an interesting character. Like everyone, his personality has contradictions, which contrast each other in a way that makes him unique from other people. At first glance, he comes off as someone of the quieter sort, not too social; a tad bit aloof even. Not very remarkable in any way, really. If one watches him for a few minutes at least, then they'll notice how he seems to be watching others around him, sometimes out of the corner of his eye surreptitiously, sometimes in a blatant manner; and mostly in a casual way, looking at people with no particular focus but definitely watching them all the same. He may sometimes come off as shy, but he is not. Although he is not all too fond of being in the spotlight, because it is not in his nature to purposely seek attention; he has no problem being up in the thick of things, just as long as he is not the direct focus of attention. He also doesn't come off as an overly emotional person, more neutral in temperment at the first meeting; unless he has a reason to not be like that. While at first glance, Michael doesn't seem like anything special, if someone takes a closer look beyond a superficial glance, they will find an edge to that seemingly ordinary nature; calculating and alert, much like the look in his eyes, the kind of thing that very much has the potiental to be dangerous. Some people choose to keep him at an arm's distance if they notice that, not trusting him in the same way one would not trust a viper to not strike; some choose to simply stay away from him, watching warily from the sidelines. Some act indifferent to him, treating him normally while just keeping an eye on him, just...just in case. He, for the most part, is naturally cautious when interacting with those he doesn't know; then opening up after he gets a bearing on the other person's personality and such. Sometimes he'll purposefully prod at them, just to gauge their temperment further if he can't get an exact bead on them; testing the waters.
Surprisingly, this young man has a fiercer nature, and is quick to anger, but for the most part he keeps it under control, doesn't let it show, unwilling to let the other party know that they have effected him. But he will make it clear that he will not stand to be pushed around, he is not a passive person, and never will, despite how he appears; he is well aware that sometimes, he has to show his fangs or else be branded a pushover. He will stand up, snap, fight, show that he is not one to be messed with. Now, with his temperment being on the more shorter end of things, his patience is a bit shorter than someone graced with a longer fuse. Bless him, he does his best to keep his emotions under control, but, as with all humans, he is not perfect and his emotional control can slip at times. Others are sometimes surprised when his hot-tempered nature makes an appearance, which is fair, he is one of the people one would least expect to have a temper on him. His anger, is not so much explosive and blazing like fire; it is more cold and fierce and quiet, deadly. Although, if pushed to the very limits of his tolerence, he can certainly explode. Yeah, he has never been one to take things lying down, he will fight back, even if it seems like he has accepted whatever it is, be sure that there will be retaliation; while his first impulse is to act immediately, he knows that sometimes he has to wait for what he wants, so he does as the situation demands.
Michael is an intelligent young man. Calculating by nature, combined with his heritage and the powers that come with it, he could certainly pose a threat if he were to ever turn on others. But luckily, he doesn't have any wish to do so. Anyways,
He can be quite apathetic sometimes. He just can't stand the stupidity of people, and besides, bad things happen to good people; the world has been like that for a long time, and there's nothing he can do. This...doesn't really portray him in a good light, especially if it's the first meeting and he is just going 'I don't care'. As long as it doesn't affect himself and those he cares about, he just doesn't...really care. He isn't cruel, and he will interfere in some things, like, a murder or something like that; he just knows that bad things happen regularly. Take his indifference as you will, it's his opinion and attitude, you can't really change it.
Michael is a person who is independent and strong of will. He is not one to back down easily, never been much of a follower, never been one to happily take orders from someone else. Sure, he will listen to someone if he knows what they are doing, and if it's a matter of life or death and mere seconds are esscential tipping the scales; he is not stupid, he is aware that in those situations, obedience might be the very thing that keeps himself and others alive. But outside of necessity? He...he doesn't have a mind for obeying. It is clear that he is not one for blind loyalty or obedience; his trust and respect has to be earned, otherwise, one will find that they will have a time trying to get Michael to do something that he doesn't want to do. He's very stubborn when he wants or needs to be. Although he usually won't be stubborn without reason...usually, there are always exceptions, despite it seems like he is refusing to do something just for the sake of being bullheaded. When working with others, whoever is the leader can get understandably frustrated with him going 'why?' when asked or ordered to do something. He just likes to know what is going on, and sometimes to see how far he could push it. All in all, he can be stubborn when he wants to be. Needless to say, if he doesn't like something, he will voice it.
Michael can be somewhat manipulative if he needs to be. Usually small things; playing peoples' views of him to his advantage, taking advantage of a situation, faking something to escape punishment or to help someone out. Like, if it needs to be done, then he will do it; he doesn't take it too far. And he is pretty good at it. But for the most part, he doesn't do it very often.
He shows care by actions mainly; sometimes he will use words for when he wants to be more subtle. This applies in romantic and platonic relationships; he doesn't really know how he would act in a romantic relationship, mainly because the one he had been in a few years backs had gone down the drain fast. Anyways, he knows that words can be said insincerely and/or can be used to manipulate, God knows he's done that on occasion; so words isn't his first option when it comes to friendships. He is a nice person once you get to know him, he's just nicer; and very loyal, don't forget that. This might be apparent with how he dresses, but he isn't a vain person.

Strengths:
-Stealth. Truly, this is one of his natural talents. He can move so quietly and swiftly, that on countless occasions, a member of his family would start talking to him, not realizing that he had gotten up and left. Not to mention the people outside his family he has startled. Now, he is not trained in stealth or anything like that, but he is still good enough to take most others off guard.
-He's a good fire starter. Need a fire? He's the man. Doesn't have anything to do with his arsonist history, nope. Not at all.
-He is pretty quick and agile, and has a tendency of worming into places where he should by logic, shouldn't be able to get into. He's like a cat in that regard.
-Intelligence.
-He is in good shape. He likes exercise, running, swimming, climbing; and won't shy away from a fight.
Weaknesses: Michael has a horrible sense of direction. He is definitely not a person who can instinctive navigate a unfamiliar city or the middle of nowhere with no landmarks. He cannot. Again, his instinctive sense of direction is so horrible it may as well not be there. He has thalassophobia; the fear of deep bodies of water, like the sea, ocean, pools or lakes. In this case, he will avoid open water; he has no problem with pools. But, like the sea or ocean? Nope
His attitude might not be the best for working in a team, or being around people. Plus, he can come off as a scheming or deceiving person, so that's not the best thing for people to think of someone. From his apathy in certain situations to the way he comes off to others.
His more aggressive nature. Sure, he tries to keep it under control, but it still makes an appearance. His temper too. It is still easy for him to get mad, and it can make an appearance.
Social interactions. He doesn't like to be around people, much less interact with them.
Backstory: Michael was always an odd child. He didn't have many friends when he was young, his calculating stare and snappish behavior were especially apparent, and that seemed to deter others from trying to be friends with him. In school, he had the reputation of being the scary one among his peers. Not that he really wanted friends, but still. His at home life was tense, one of those situations that the parents had fallen out of love and were keeping it together for the sake of the child. He would hear his parents arguing, sometimes screaming at each other when they thought he had gone to sleep; then as time went on, they started being less discreet, snapping at each other when he was a few feet away, one of them storming out the door when it got too intense. Sometimes it surprised him that the doors didn't wield to the force and frequency of slamming them so hard. Perhaps this is partly why his anger issues were so bad.
His snappish behavior often got him into trouble, at school he got into so many fights, sure he got his ass kicked about ninety-nine percent of the time; he was small for his age, but he did win quite a few times. His parents sure didn't like this behavior, and it always lead to heated arguments between him and them; something he remembers a lot is the phrase "If you don't control yourself, someone will do it for you" his mother or father would tell him. He started to loose the self-blame for his parent's friction at age eight, that was when his misbehavior went up several notches: acting disrespectfully toward his parents, aruging with them; being more hostile towards others, in school and with everyday interactions. Which got him in a load of trouble and more restrictions being placed upon him. His personality was that of a mortally wounded animal backed into a corner combined with a rabid animal. Despite his intense anger issues, there still was that calculating part to him; which was an interesting combination, and honestly that part of him unnerved his parents especially. This went on for a while. His parents tried getting him help, because the anger was seriously problematic for them, but it didn't really work. Needless to say, it wasn't a happy childhood. When he was thirteen, he finally started spending less time at home, just wandering around a park or the streets, although he tried to be somewhere safer than the streets. At this point, he started making a serious attempt to control his short-temper; he realized that by letting others see him angry, that means they win, and he decided that he didn't like to have others see that they have affected him in that manner. For several years he stuck with it stubbornly, and for the most part, succeeded in controlled his emotions, he decided that he liked to present a more cool, calculating demeanor; besides, it was already part of his personality, he just let the tempermental side win. Predictably, he earned a dislike of authority figures due to his growing up, and he resisted hard against anyone who was a leader, who tried to make him do things; and this followed him to adulthood. Finally, when he turned sixteen, his parents divorced; he honestly had no clue why they didn't do so sooner. He ended up in his father's custody, which was preferable to his mother. It was kind of better, although Michael mostly ghosted around the house, avoiding him. The relationship was still very strained, and he isn't someone who forgets easily. And life continued like that, up until his eighteen birthday. RP Example: One And, I know this isn't necessary, but for my more put together RP forms: 1234Activity Level: I'd say like... a 7-9? I'm pretty active. Trivia: Michael has the remarkable ability to turn his head at a full 180 degrees to either side. It has freaked out anyone who had witnessed him do this, to be honest, it is a bit terrifying to watch. Maybe one or two people may even use the word 'nauseating'. Michael does not like being called 'Mike' or 'Mikey'. If his first name is too long for someone, then he will insist on them using his last name. He had nearly gotten himself arrested several times, the reason? Arson. He will also suggest fire as a solution to a problem fairly often, mostly as a joke, but sometimes he is totally serious about the suggestion.
Michael's level of stealth is directly inspired by my own.
He got sick a lot as a child. Apparently his immune system had much to be desired.

Sloane Lisman Gender: Female (she/her/they; indifferent) Sexuality: Aromantic, Allosexual Role: The Common Man's Descendant Relationship with Ability: Sloane is unaware of the fact that she has any sort of an ability. She is aware that she is a descendant of the Common Man, but her parents failed to fill her in on much about herself before they passed away and has yet had the opportunity to learn that magic is unable to be used on her. Appearance: Sloane is striking in every way, her height her look, fuck, even the way she speaks. Striking in a good way, maybe not, but at the very least she is startling. She stands at quite the height of five foot eleven, making her a walking beacon, everyone notices her when she walks in the room. On top of her height she has a slender feminine build, with gentle soft curves and perfectly slim arms and legs. She has a very visually pleasing build. Sloane has stunning thick hair that falls in loose smooth curls, ending at the small of her back. The color of her hair is a beautiful red color that naturally occurs to her, extremely dark and almost unnatural hued. The color could be defined as burgundy red, being darkest at her roots, nearly black, and lightest at her tips, where the most hue of red can be found. She has curtain bangs cut to just above her jawline, framing her features. Speaking of, Sloane has very cat-like features. She has a sharp jawline with high cheekbones, her nose is naturally thin and defined. She has full lips that are evenly proportionate, the top being the tiniest bit thinner with a defined cupids bow. She has a light spray of freckles over her nose, defined collarbone, and shoulders, though they are hardly noticeable from far away. Her skin is smooth and lightly tanned. Her eyebrows are naturally thin and arched, their color falls in the same hue as near the roots of her hair, dark and ever so slightly red tinted. She has a scar at the top edge of her right eyebrow, though it isn’t extremely noticeable, just a small spot where a hair or two should have been. Her eyes are the most cat-like feature on this tall woman, they are dark and mischievous, a deep dark brown hue, almost red, in some lights they are almost the same color as her hair, it is an odd feature that gives many people chills, that her eyes should resemble red like her hair. Some superstitious folk believe it to be a sign, that she is to be avoided. Her unnerving eyes are slanted, like a cats, with a bit of an almond shape to them. They are rimmed with full thick black lashes, the woman never needs mascara. Due to her features, many think she's older than she really is, she doesn't mind though as it can be quite helpful in certain situations. Piercings: Sloane has quite a few piercings. On her left ear she has three lobe piercings, one jewel stud, the other two different sized small hoops, the lowest hoop having a small silver monstera leaf hanging from it. Above that she has an industrial piercing with a small black dinosaur in the center. On her right ear she has matching lobe piercings, and then above that three cartilage stud piercings that descend in size. All her piercings are silver. Tattoos: Sloane has a tattoo down her spine. The top starts between her shoulder blades and the bottom is right above her lower back. The top of the tattoo is a evergreen tree that fades down her spine into words and numbers, her parents birthdays, and date of their death. The tattoo is completely in black. Personality: Sloane is the definition of bitch. She doesn’t give a single flying fuck about anyone that isn’t herself. She isn’t what you would call vain, she just really doesn’t care about the people around her, nobody deserves her attention really, she has much better things to be doing with her time and energy. She does have a few close friends she has known since childhood, but other than that, there is no getting close and personal with this woman. All her relationships have failed, a man has never lasted longer than three months before giving up on the conundrum which is her. All of them curse her when they leave, yelling at her that she “Will regret this!” and that “One day someone you really like is going to come around and you aren’t going to know what to do!” They all spout nonsense like that as they leave, claiming she will regret her asshole attitude one day. That day has not come, and it never will. Sloane has very little interest in a romantic relationship, the only reason why she dates is to have a bit of fun and fulfill any sexual desires she may have, other than that, the guys she dates aren’t even recognized as human beings, their just toys to be played with. Part of this mentality comes form her extreme bipolar issues. Her mood swings are tremendous, making her field of thought for others to be nearly nonexistent. What matters more to her is dealing with her own issues and herself. She finds emotional solitude helps to calm her mood swings, doing her own thing is soothing. Due to this complete lack of care for others, Sloane will do just about anything to get what she wants, or do what she perceives as "right", though any good usually comes from a place of selfishness. On top of her bipolar disorder and extreme asshole behavior, Sloane has major OCD issues. Her house is a constant tidy area, nothing is ever out of place. She loses her mind if she finds something not put away. Anytime she washes her hands, it isn’t just once, but usually three times. Her OCD issues have also led to a phobia of germs, that’s right, this mess of a woman is also a germophobe. It’s not so extreme that she cannot function, but it is there, for sure. She even has an entire perfectly organized closet dedicated to disinfecting and cleaning supplies; she deep cleans her house once a week. This combination of mental issues and terrible attitude are always the cause of a failed relationship, platonic or romantic, this woman is nearly impossible to get to know. Despite how fucked up this woman is, it is extremely hard to tell all the issues she has. To the public eye she is a stunning well put together woman who has her life on track to everything she wants to be, she is funny and loud, outgoing in an intimidating way, and even fun to hang out with. Even her few close friends do not know the extent of her mental problems, they think she just tends to be a bitch. This does not bother her though, she doesn’t mind that nobody but her therapist and her dead parents know about her real life, she actually prefers it that way. She doesn’t want others pitying her, she hates the thought of it. She doesn’t want others trying to help her, she is fine as she is and she has lived like this her entire adult life and much of her childhood, those idiots can’t help her more then she can herself. Due to this mentality, she is very reserved about her private at home life, very few people come over and she does not talk much about what she does in her spare time. Her bipolar disorder had been noticed from a very young age, but after her parents died it reared its ugly head full force, making her quite the troublesome child. As well is her bipolar issues, the death of her parents triggered her OCD and germophobia, and since then the conditions only got worse. Though now, years later, she has learned to live with her mental disorders and overcome the fear they instilled in her, though she cannot beat them completely, she can still live her life mostly normally. Likes*: The piano Anything to do with bunnies Dislikes*: Nosy people Messes Germs Kids ("Because they are walking germ factories" - Sloane) Strengths: Intelligent - Sloane is extremely intelligent, she has always loved learning new things and the solitude she sought gave her plenty of time to educate herself beyond what anybody had expected. Agile - Due to her lithe build, Sloane is quite agile, she has been an avid runner for most of her life and that has lent her quite a bit of stamina and strength. Appearance - Sloane is very good looking, and she is well aware of that. She will often times use her womanly charms to lure people into doing what she wants. Weaknesses: Anxiety - Sloane's many issues have led her to have crippling anxiety. While she may seem perfectly fine one minute, the next she might be tucked away in a corner unable to move and barely breathing. Usually her attacks are triggered by germs, but sometimes a random gesture, smell, or just about anything will trigger an attack, while it is rare, the random occurrences to happen. Bipolar, OCD, Germophobe - (Self explanatory) Attitude - Due to her outlook on life, Sloane has very few allies and has a hard time gaining any, or trusting anyone enough to let them in. This poses quite a problem to her as if shes ever in a tough situation it's likely no one will come to her rescue. Though this has lent her some strength as she has learned to rescue herself. RP Example: boop Activity Level: 6-8 Trivia: Sloane can play the piano, she took lesson from 5 years old up until she was a junior in high-school. Sloane is addicted to caffeine, though it does nothing to help with her mental disorders. Sloane hates cats. Sloane loves going on late night runs, when everything is quiet. Other: She has little to no body hair, she is very grossed out by any on her :') Edited at April 22, 2022 03:11 PM by Fusty-Dudget

Name Asa Shumirova
Gender Feminine Sexuality Straight Role The Lover's Descendant Relationship with Ability Has been able to use it intuitively from birth. Sometimes, she would just 'know' what someone was thinking or feeling. Having never been told of her power, Asa would often second-guess herself, always looking for proof that these moments were more than just wishful thinking or her imaginitive mind. With age, her ability showed itself more often. As she spoke to people, Asa would get thoughts, images, smells, and feelings out of nowhere, and it confused her. Having grown up in a highly intellectual family, she kept looking for a logical explanation, and didn't know how to talk to her family about it until she could.
Appearance Standing at 168cm, Asa has a tall and slender build. Although she has near-perfect hourglass proportions, she lacks muscle somewhat, due to her rather inactive childhood. Her initially fair skin is tanned to a light golden color. Having spent most of her childhood running around barefoot (due to her general dislike of shoes), the soles of her feet have hardened to the point that she can comfortably run on gravel. She has highly arched feet, and tends to walk toe-first when barefoot, resulting in an almost dance-like movement. Asa has a delicate, heart-shaped face, with high cheekbones, and a narrow chin. Her ears, well-proportioned, are somewhat pointed in shape. Her nose is straight, with a rounded, very slightly upturned tip. Downturned lips contribute to her faraway and sad resting expression. Slightly downturned blue-grey eyes, usually distant and watchful, take on a lively, joyful glimmer when Asa is in a good mood. The only indication of her telepathic powers, her pupils widen when she actively uses her ability, depending on how deeply/actively she uses it, to the potential extreme of her eyes appearing completely black, the iris only a barely visible line. Asa's hair is straight and long, falling all the way to her hips. The fine brown hairs take on golden glow when struck by light. Attire & Accessories Asa's wardrobe was always quite limited, and as much as she wanted to, she never really got around to customising it much, as the majority of her clothes were handed down from her mother or even grandmother. Her clothes are generally casual, but never baggy, and always neat. Asa always wears a small flower pendant on a silver chain around her ankle, a 'good luck' charm of sorts, given to her by her parents when she moved away. Silver, with six pointed, overlapping petals, and no more than three centimeters in diameter. Personality Fun fact: Asa absolutely hates having to describe herself as a person, having dug through her own personality so much, she struggles to see the entire picture at once. She would much rather leave the task to others.
Speaking of which, there are other tasks she would prefer to leave alone, most of which fall under the category of communication. Regardless of how good (or not) she is at hiding it, Asa is very awkward at any form of communication, but is positively terrified of any staged conversation. It doesn't help that she struggles to find the right words to make her thoughts understandable to others, outside the context in her mind. Neither is it helpful that she seems to frequently forget words - being bilingual, and not having the opportunity to speak either language very often. Her fear of communication is reflected in her behavioural patterns. While she may stride around with a calm confidence, a shadow of worry will pass over her expression the moment she knows she has to talk to someone she doesn't know. She will wait silently for people to notice her instead of interrupting a conversation. But she's quite talkative once you get past that initial barrier, happily chatting about whatever common topic she might have found. In fact, she sometimes worries that she's being too talkative and annoying the other person. Asa does tend to judge herself a lot in that way. Calm, patient, always with a small but friendly smile on her face, always understanding and compassionate, Asa is the ideal listener, albeit a silent one, since she's never sure what the right thing to say is. No one has ever seen her lose patience, get angry or upset. She will walk around smiling from ear to ear, though, if she's in an especially good mood. She doesn't even notice it until people shart giving her weird looks. But that's all the surface, the tiny fraction of who she is, the small part of herself she feels safe to expose. Not a mask, of course. That was something Asa learned early on - she couldn't lie. She couldn't become someone entirely different. She could only pull together existing parts of herself, convince herself she was happy, and act it, the way she would be if she was. Always happy. Always calm. Always the best at everything. That was what she expected herself to be, and what it frustrated her to fail at. Perhaps it's partially the way she was raised, always expected to have the top grades, always told that nothing but the best is enough. In any case, it pains her to be worse than anyone. And it has made her competitive. Very competitive. And she enjoys it, it's her definition of fun, even when the only person she can compete with is herself. On the inside, Asa is an artist. She loves anything beautiful, and sees beauty in many things. She will lose herself in sculpting, painting, music, or poetry. She loves animals, too. To Asa, the natural world is divine. Humanity is divine. Everything, from the highest mountain to the smallest stone, from a bear to an ant, from an oak to the grasses in the fields, is beautiful and divine. Asa has a very clear image of the world she wants to create for herself. When it comes to her beliefs, they are very clear and do not change easily. While she will not dictate them to other people, she will have no one dictates theirs to her, either. She is incredibly loyal to those she considers 'family', as few as they may be, and will defend them from anything and anyone. Strengths - Highly intelligent and very capable of abstract thought, Asa easily grasps new concepts, and often excells at anything she tries her hand at.
- Asa has the drive and determination to sit down and spend the hours 'forcing' herself into perfection. She won't stop until she has achieved the ideal, or at least made significant progress towards it. - A loyal friend, Asa is always there for the people she cares about. She would be there for strangers, too, but has been disappointed too many times to invest in people who don't want her around. Weaknesses - An awkward communicator, hindered in equal parts by her lack of experience and her belief that she is awkward.
- Can be competitive to a fault, sometimes going a bit too far. - Asa can quickly grow tired of loud groups, cheerful or otherwise, and needs time away to ground herself and recharge her batteries. Affiliations Although she does have more distant relatives, the ones she grew up with are her parents and younger brother, and she loves them dearly. Even now, living away from them, Asa often misses them, even falling into depression on occasion, and calls frequently.
(I'm open to Asa being previously aquainted with other characters, PM me to discuss) Backstory Born in Russia, Asa and her parents immigrated when she was only two, wary of the country's political situation. So Asa grew up in the quieter corner of the King's Land, having never really known much of her homeland. Asa's life growing up was a rather normal one. She went to school, made friends. Then her family would move to a different town, and she'd go to a different school there, and made friends again. And then they'd move again. It always seemed to bother her a lot when she never heard from her friends again. She always blamed it on her 'awkward' communication skills, and her being 'different'. Asa had always felt like she was different from everyone else. She never knew what people were talking about. If there was a famous person everyone knew about, she never had any idea who it was. The concepts and values she had grown up with seemed to be entirely different from those of the people around her. So the only people she ever really connected with were her family. Coming from a line of engineers, with software developers for parents, it could be said that Asa was always expected to take on a highly intellectual profession. Which she almost did, and most definitely still could. But she also had a passion for animals, or more specifically, horses. At the age of 16, Asa had moved away from her parents, and gone to study about horses near the Capital. By her 18th birthday, Asa had taken up two part-time jobs, one as a programmer, and the other in a small stable at the edge of the city. She was living her dream. If only it wasn't such a lonely one. RP Example Bzzzz. Bzzzz. Bzzzz. Right. Yes. Morning. Asa forced her eyes open, although it made little difference. It was still dark outside. Asa's phone was vibrating on her bedside table, the screen lit up. 5:30am. Time to get up, except her mind felt like a soft cloud of fluff... fluff... This blanket is really fluffy... Stop drifting off! Asa shook herself slightly, blinking several times, trying to wake herself up. But she already knew that the only way to really do that was to get out of bed. Well do it then, sleepyhead! She kept up the internal scolding as she got up, turned off her alarm, and pulled some clothes on. It was cold. Not helpful on a morning like this. She did her best to avoid looking at the bed - the warm, soft, place where she could keep sleeping... And forced herself to start her morning excercise instead. You'll wake up once you start moving, Asa. You always do. An hour later, staring at the steam rising from the pot as she absently stirred her breakfast, Asa had to question that statement. Can't really call myself awake, can I? The glowing numbers on the oven caught her eye, and she sprung back to life, quickly checking to see if her meal was ready yet. 6:37, I should really be sat down eating by now!
As she hurriedly sat down for her meal, Asa also pulled out her laptop. Still another hour left to eat. And to get in another attempt to figure out why the new function wasn't working. There has to be a reason somewhere in that code. Activity Level Around 5? I will have very little time during the week until the end of May, so I probably won't be on every day. I will be more active on weekends. Please let me know if this is a problem :) Trivia Asa has played the clarinet since she was four (that makes it 14 years! A scary number, if you ask her). She is also mildly allergic to cats, dogs, horses... anything that has fur on it - sad, considering how much she loves them. Also, Asa is VERY into things like pagan culture, witchcraft, ect., and likes to draw elements of that into her own way of life. She will never mention it to anyone, but Asa doesn't like calling herself 'Russian', and much prefers to think of herself as 'Slavic', instead.
Other What little body hair she has is very fine and light - it has never bothered her enough to consider shaving.

@Lykalo For the record, this is a world where everyone has some sort of magic, so her having that an ability wouldn't be completely out of the question. It'd just be strange because it's completely different from the magic the rest of her family has, as the abilities the bonds and Pillars had are something exclusive to them that died with them. That means that it's still possible for her to be confused about her power (it being something never seen before and all), so you don't need to change her relationship with it; I just wanted to make clear that magic is considered normal.

@ThisIsAPackName, Thanks, I'll keep that in mind :) Just to clarify, what kind of magic is considered 'normal'? Would say, enhanced senses, or a healing touch be fairly commonplace? Or would it be something more powerful?

@Lykalo Magic varies a lot in-world. It can basically be anything and power level can also be anything, so that's a bit of a difficult question to answer. Like, there can be one person who can do something as simple as telling if a plant is sick or not and there can be another person who can manipulate water or whatever. What I CAN say, though, is abilities have been passed down by blood since magic was introduced to humanity, so two completely unrelated people can't share the same ability and a certain type of magic cannot come from nowhere. For example, there might be a few family lines that can shift into wolves or cats, but if there was never one that could shift into a frog, then there never will be a person who can shift into a frog. If a person is known to be biologically related to certain individuals and have something that was never in the family line at any point or cannot provably be a mix of abilities within that line, then that will be considered strange; otherwise, any sort of magical ability is fair game. That's not really a direct answer, since there isn't any particular limitations on what magic can be in this world, but I hope it helps at least a bit.

@Argos I'm assuming you're changing the secondary power to shapeshifting into objects instead of manipulating matter? If so, then accepted!

Crap. I told myself that I needed to do the secondary power but I forgot. I was planning on keeping the manipulating power. Thank you for the reminder. I'll add that now.
