"Originally I was going to answer with my books. But then you finished speaking. Having no hope to be found is a despairing thought. No hope means that life is meaningless. 'To be found' implies that you've looked for it and the world is empty. A void, a dream, or perhaps, instead, a nightmare. It makes all this striving to survive seem so petty and you just want to get it over with. But what keeps you from jumping off that bridge? It's the people around you. I'm not sure what they look like to you. It could be a close friend or family member, or maybe just the guy who you sit by on the bus each day. Or maybe the homeless guy to who you always give a dollar. To me, though, it is my friends and family. I don't have too many of them and I plan on keeping them to the end. So, it's either they go first or we die together. Death is inevitable and I plan on spending as much time as I have got left making good memories to smile at when I'm old and gray."
