For the first time, Michael showed emotion. Alex and Strike got out of the van, and within moments, she was enveloped in a hug. Strike barked, wagging his tail furiously.
Inside the van, Aloe was alert and awake. She had gotten much better over the course of the drive, "Mama?" She questioned, seeing Katelyn come in, "Are we here?"

Brax smiled lightly once he saw Alex, happy that she was safe. Amika was poking and prodding Zane, making sure he was okay. Soon, he was lowered into a fit of giggles as she tickled him. The teenager was just happy to be back with his adopted family. That's when he spotted the other little boy who was huddled close to Addilyn. Never leaving her side for too long. "Who's that?" Zane looked at the other boy with narrowed eyes, he felt the tiniest bit of power radiating off him. "Oh, that's Addilyn's brother, Destan." Zane didn't look very surprised and just gave the younger boy a wave before going back to talking with Brax and Ami. Kaitlyn smiled at Aloe as she got back into the van. "Almost there actually. Just gotta cross this bridge and then we're free." Kaitlyn lightly poked Aloe's nose, a smile on the young woman's face.

Alex had Michael lead her back to the group, where Strike headed off to give Amika doggy kisses. She wasn't quite sure where everyone was, and didn't want to approach the wrong person. Alex also don't want to be weird and go to Brax out of no where, even though she wanted to say hi.
Aloe grinned, though there was a dark worry hidden in that youthful face, "I have a bad feeling about this. There is something, dark nearby. Pushing my magic away." She didn't like it.

Amika gave the dog lovely little pets and made Brax say hi to Strike. "I don't see the point in petting Strike since it was obvious he came to you not me." Ami sighed and flicked Brax on the forehead before bending down to give the dog some lovings. Her smile wide and bright. Kaitlyn looked down at her beautiful daughter. Not technically hers but still in all fairness hers. "I know dear. It is Addilyn's grandfather. Jolon. You must radiate light for me okay dearest? Otherwise he will think you're weak but you are strong." Kaitlyn smiled at Aloe, being honest to her as to not baby the child. Edited at July 28, 2019 09:24 PM by Soaring Free

In Jonas's humble opinion, he thought Amika was the most beautiful when she smiled. It was her bright personality shone through, and the world could see how amazing she was. Aloe nodded seriously, "Okay, mama. I'll be strong and bright. I promise." Her grandpapa hasn't been nice either, and Aloe had been able to be bright and happy then too. She could do this.

Amika gently patted the dogs head as Zane got put into a head lock by Al. It was nice to have someone to pick on again it seemed. Addilyn was pacing back and forth. For once, her bow was in full view for everyone to see, as was her quiver. She nervous habit was biting her nails. she realized it was gross to a lot of people but she couldn't help it. It was a coping mechanism. Something she'd started doing a long, long time ago. Before she'd ran away from this place. "Good! Im so proud of you Aloe. You are so, so strong dear." Kaitlyn smiled then stuck her head out of the van. "Are we ready to cross Addilyn?" The green eyed girl looked up from her pacing and nodded, making Kaitlyn start up the engine. "Destan, get in the van and don't come back out till I call you okay?" Destan whined softly, "pero Addilyn," the older girl shook her head. "Escucha Destan, you are going to get in that van and you're going to sit down and stay there until I say come out. Understand?" Her brother flared but said nothing as he hopped into the van. Coming face to face with Aloe. Addilyn waited for those who wanted to get back into the van to go back in.

Jason was concerned, but didn't say anything, opting to silently observe. He was nearby Addilyn, but gave her the space she needed. Crossing back into Mexico was difficult for her, and what awaited them was deadly, so Jason needed to be strong. Aloe waved at the new boy, "Hello. I'm Aloe," She smiled, lightning up the gloomy van. Michael guided Alex back into the van, but she quickly looked in the direction she thought Brax was in. Maybe he wasn't looking, and maybe she would make a fool out of herself, but Alex waved.

Addilyn smirked as her brother got into the van, well at least he'd be safe. Kaitlyn had enchanted it with her barrier magic so Jolon wouldn't be able to get in. Her green eyes kept being pulled back into the bridge. It was cold, so many witches weren't crossing today which was why it was quite deserted. The bridge was wide enough to where both the van and the group would be able to cross at the same time. Which was a good thing Addilyn supposed. Destan looked warily at the other little girl. She seemed to be around his age, maybe a little younger. Her voice startled him and he pulled away suddenly. Eyes wide as she spoke to him. "O-oh, I'm uh. I'm Destan. It's nice to meet you Aloe. It's nice to meet you." He looked like he had no idea on what to say and he really didn't. He had never been taught, so social skills weren't his thing, especially with other children his age. He'd never gone to school, as he'd only gotten lessons from a magical tutor who deemed him unworthy to go to any magical schools and reg schools weren't even an option. So Andrés had taken to teaching him. Brax looked up when Amika poke him and pointed at Alex. She seemed to be waving at him which was crazy. Why would she even wave at him? He couldn't exactly wave back so instead he just shouted. "Stay safe Alex!" His voice carried over to her and Amika smiled lightly pushing Strike in Alex's direction so he'd go to her.

While Jason stood a silent guard, Michael approached Addilyn. His voice was low and quiet, so only she could hear, "You probably know it, but there is a risk up ahead. Someone we could betray you and go with. It's close, maybe a few minutes away. Just... be cautious." Aloe giggled, "Okay. It's nice to meet you too, and have other kids. Maybe we can be friends?" Her fingers clenched into her palms, which was the only sign of her worry. This was her first time, in what she could remember, at least, interacting with another kid her age. Alex grinned, then laughed when she felt Strike push against her leg. It was nice having someone other than her brother care... and for her to care about someone. Alex never really had friends, so this was new. Really, this was the largest group of people Alex had ever been around.

Addilyn nodded, although she didn't have any real premonition powers, she knew something bad was going to happen soon. It was just this tug in her gut. Something was going to go wrong. At first she had been ignoring it but now Micheal was affirming her worst fears. Immediately, Addilyn was swept up in a torrent of worry and chaos. What if something truly went wrong? What if one of her friends was a spy? She didn't show this panic though, not in any way, shape or form. Her mental barriers were up high and strong. As they needed to be in order to face Jolon. "Ok, thank you Michael for the warning." She gave him a half hearted smile, much to worried to make anymore of an effort.
Destan looked down at the ground as Aloe spoke. He was terrified she would start making fun of him for being useless or something of the sort. Her kindness took him by surprise and he looked up slowly at her. "Oh um, I've never had a friend before. I probably wouldn't be any good at it." Destan looked awfully nervous, poor thing.
