Although Brax was happy for Alex, but he was also worried. This trip was gonna be dangerous. He could feel it in his very bones. And his group, although they would try to keep Alex safe and such, other gangs were obstacles too and that was the main worry. They would be trying to show Addilyn that she was weak now. Which was wrong. But would also probably end up in multiple fights. Brax was most worried about that. He decided then and there that he would do everything to keep Kaitlyn, Aloe and Alex out of the fighting. He'd protect them as best as he good, and with his arm basically back to normal he would be able to do it more efficiently than without a working arm. "Of course Alex, plus, this new start will probably be good for you." Brax smiled lightly even if she couldn't see it.

"I believe we are going in two groups, yes? One with those who are handicapped," Alex said this without hesitating, "Like me, and Aloe, along with one or two who are in less trouble with the law, in a car. Then everyone else. I think? At least, I know Aloe is in a car. She wouldn't be able to cross the country and the desert." Alex finished breathlessly, "Sorry... I ramble a lot..."

In all honesty, Brax hadn't been told about this information at all. His eyes focusing on Alex as she talked. He hadn't even known that there was a car. The two groups thing was obvious but Addilyn hadn't told him anything other than that. "Oh don't worry about it Alex. In all honesty, I didn't even know half of what you just told me. Addilyn kinda just said we're leaving today and that's it. She's one to just go with whatever comes her way. Thanks for letting me know."

"Michael tells me things. He know I don't like not knowing what's going on," she said firmly, "I may not be at the same level as everyone, but I try to help the best I can. Most of the time, that's as a background character, I guess, in the story of everyone's lives." Alex leaned back in her chair, "I want to be a writer. I always imagined everything as one, big story. If it's like that, Jason and Addilyn would be the main characters. Her gang and Jason's are the secondaries, along with Michael, although he's the Help. I'm a convenient extra."

Brax immediately felt pain at Alex's words. No one. Not a single person. Should ever describe themselves the way she was now. "Don't say that. You're just as important as Jason and Addilyn, as long as you think yourself to be. But if you say things like that, you're giving up the hope of making your own story. Where you're the main character. In fact, I believe that everyone has their own story. Are as important as others in life, after all, everyone leads their own lives. Plus, being a writer sounds like an amazing job. Especially if that's what you want to do." Brax envied Alex for knowing what she wanted to be. He hadn't ever thought of any life other than the one he led now. Where he knew he was a background character just as Alex had said. The difference was that he could tell Alex could definitely be someone important in many peoples lives if she only just tried. Brax didn't have that options.

Alex's blind eyes met Brax's. "You say this, yet I doubt you believe yourself to have the starring role in your life," She reached out and patted Brax's hand, "Perhaps we could each start being our own hero."

The patting of Brax's hand made the young man feel slightly surprised. Eyes widening slightly at Alex's sudden analysis of him. Though she wasn't wrong, not even in the slightest. "That's a good idea. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to go through with it though. I'm not the kind to take charge and all that. So I can't really be a hero. I can try though."

Giving Brax a smile, Alex seemed to really see him, even though she was blind, "Just try," she encouraged. "Negativity does not need to control you. Just try."

The way Alex could see into Brax almost made him scared. She made him feel vulnerable and uncovered. Like she could see right through his lies and look directly into his brain. That kind of power scared him. Alex could probably tell that Brax was worried about the trip down South and what would become of him once he got there. How he felt like he wasn't a valuable member of the group or that secretly, he believed everyone judged him. So, when he finally spoke, he said it with as much truth to his words as he could. "I-I will. Try I mean." He took a sip of his coffee, finally really waking up.

Alex released her relentless stare, and focused her face downwards, "Well then," she said, a smile tugging at her lips, "That's all I ask. Thank you, Brax."
