Amika's blonde hair flowed freely down her back, for she had taken it out of its braids. The makeup was also gone, she still looked pretty though. "Do you have anything to eat? I don't want to take anything from Alex and them." Ami may have been very uncultured but she definitely didn't want to steal anyone's food. Brax smirked and reached into his bag, throwing an apple at her. She caught it with ease and quietly began to eat.

Jonas had always been the kid you asked to do your homework, the person you could always rely on, "The Smart One." He had always taken this role and embraced it. Then, he was thrown into this life, where he was Ribs, where street smarts were more important, and the only homework was figuring out how to run from the law. His friends didn't know this. They saw a butt-kicking, law breaking criminal, though it hadn't started out that way.
His family was poor, to put it simply. In the beginning, everything was great. Then, the adoptive mother of him and his brother took a turn for the worse, and was very sick. A lot of the time she couldn't even leave her bed. Jonas and his brother scoured for a way to make money, but no respectful business would hire a 17 hoodlum. So they turned to darker means.

The same could not be said for Amika, although she was definitely smart, she hadn't gone to school since she had run away from her parents. So, most people thought of her as a clueless girl with her head in the clouds and her only good attribute was her good looks but her sister had her beat in that category. Truthfully, the only real good thing she was good at was staying very quiet and being surprisingly good in math. Once in awhile Brax would try to teach her stuff but the lessons were few and far between. So Amika considered herself to be the weakest link the group if you took smarts into consideration. It was just the way it was.

If someone had looked at middle school photos, they would have seen a small kid. Burly, for sure, but not muscular or fit. He was more on the chubby side, and he had a full mop of dark red hair - a stark contrast to his now shaved head. There were less worry lines, and a soft look in his eyes.

Amika ate her apple quickly, her eyes half closed due to her still being tired. The room was silent other than her eating and Braxton flipping through the pages of a book he had brought with him. Although Ami enjoyed the quiet, it also made her tense, because in most cases silence meant bad things. But nothing much worse could happen so she tried to keep her mind off of that.

Ribs awoke quietly, which was unlike most days. He wasn't sure what to do, so he remained where we was, though his eyes were open.

A yawn escaped Amika's lips as she finally finished the apple. The core was left and the rest had been devoured due to Amika's hunger. Her sapphire eyes danced around the room, a sleepy smile appeared when she realized Ribs was awake.

From where he lay, Ribs wasn't able to see much of anything, save for the ceiling. For the moment, he just enjoyed simply breathing, and having a peaceful moment.

Braxton looked up at Amika's face and felt pity. Though it didn't show. He loved her in the way siblings did, somehow they got along very well even if she was so different than him. Truthfully, he knew how in the group she was the one who picked up all the broken pieces left behind by everyone else; and he knew how stressful it could get. Although it should technically be Addilyn's job, she had never been good at emotions. Ami was sweet and kind in all the ways that Addilyn wasn't. Which was why Amika did what she did, Braxton felt for her. Knowing that she still was hooked on the fact that her sister was gone. Poor thing. She would probably be fine though, Amika was good at recovering swiftly.

Ribs sat up after a moment, turning around. His eyes lit up when he saw Amika, and smiled softly. After their conversation, he felt better, even though they hadn't talked about what troubles each of them. Sometimes just reaching out helped.
