Her endeavors had been fruitless; the faint scent of the killer was the only distinction she found, and as Atria made her way back to the school, she huffed a frustrated sigh. Making her way through the building, she turned corridor after corridor until she made it to the library; there was no need to go to dinner. She had no appetite after her adventure. She grabbed a random book, not even looking at the cover before settling into a chair, legs tucked underneath her. She flipped the book open, but had no interest in reading the words - it was simply a placeholder, so she didn't look a complete bufoon in the library by herself. She hadn't paid attention to anybody else who was in the library, and she wasn't sure when Inferno would arrive, but she hoped it would be quick - she didn't have time for studying, when she had a murder to solve. {its okay I understand, currently burnt to a crisp and sick from it so im in the same boat ;-;} |

Inferno pulled out a book, dust flying everywhere as the old book was pulled from its perch. Inferno sneezed but dusted off the front cover and nodded in satisfaction. It was one of the oldest books ever to be written and was a complete, or almost complete at least, book full of supernaturals and their abilities. Hopefully, when she and Atria combed through the book, they would be able to find something about the creature. She was filled with rage and determination to find this creature and kill it for what it did to her friends. And she would make sure that it felt every last feeling of pain that it inflicted on Crescent and Khaos. She had no intentions of studying history or math or science or anything like that tonight. She wanted to figure out what happened that night. Heading back to the main area, she noticed her roommate sitting at one of the tables with a random book in her hands that she wasn't even reading. How could Inferno tell? The book was upside down. Walking over, she pulled the book out of the Fae's hands and sat next to her, opening the dusty book in front of them. "This is what we need to look over and study." She growled. |

Atria coughed as dust flew from the book sat before her. Waving her hand in front of her face, she desperately attempted to clear the air and breathe. "You couldn't have picked something a little.. newer?" Grimacing, she looked at the page the book had opened to - a history of the magic of elves, of all creatures. So they weren't studying. Good. Atria laughed slightly, flipping through to find creatures of the night, capable of more aggressive behaviour. "Unfortunately, Inferno, I don't believe the gentle elves would have committed such a crime. This is where we should start," she said, pointing to the page. "Death stalkers. Demons, from all levels of Hell. I've heard stories of how they can still sometimes leech into this world, and how most of them are not so well adapted to modern living." She shuddered, mind flipping through the images she had seen of demons from the very pits of Hell. "Something vicious had to have committed that crime; something with no soul. I've been trying to piece it together. I even went out to the forest today, and I caught its scent at the scene. If we can just find something that indicates what it is, we can learn how to get rid of it." She looked to her friend - since when? - for approval before continuing on, reaching towards the ground for her bag that she had thrown haphazardly. She fumbled around, grabbing her notebook, before opening it up and placing it next to the book. Her chicken-scratch notes dictated all she knew about certain creatues, about what she thought may have been able to do such atrocious things and get away with it. |

Inferno nodded, feeling something akin to pride to have such a good and reliable…friend. One that would put herself on the front lines of this issue, working alongside her to solve what had happened. She leaned over the book, gazing at at the Death stalkers page. Her crimson eyes narrowed further, her mind racing, thoughts flying through her head faster than any winged creature. “Though Death stalkers and other chaos creatures who feed off of pain, suffering, and agony like a nogitsune, do tend to be aggressive and dangerous, most wouldn’t kill, at least this soon. They would keep their victim alive for as long as possible to ensure that they have a food source to feed off of while they searched for their next meal. But, I doubt Crescent’s and Khaos’s emotions were being fed off of. If they were, they would have been jumpy, scared, irritated, agitated, panicked. Different. But those two weren’t. They acted completely normal.” She sighed running a had through her hair. She had let it out of it’s usual braid and the wavey sleek hair flowed down her back. “There’s a couple reasons that could explain why they were attacked. One, the creature was hungry, starving more likely. But it’s unlikely, since no bitemarks were on their bodies. Two, the creature harbored some sort of grudge against one of them, but I doubt that as well. So that leaves the third option: That the creature needed something that was produced out of Crescent’s death. Like a soul or something.” |
