Rose set the stone down and took the other half of the oyster shell and brushed the powder into it before dribbling some water into it and using a small stick to stir and mash it to form a paste.

"I'm making you a poltice for your shoulder wound." She said as she mixed all the root powders, leaves, and water together. "I'm assuming you alreay cleaned your own wound so i won't need to?" she hoped so, as she had forgotten she needed the water to make the paste. She continued speaking as she stirred. "I'm sorry I ran out like that, i was trying not to wake you." She paused. "But I just met you, no offense, i don't have a good track record with male wolves. I just don't want hurt again." Her voice cracked at the end and she swallowed tightly.

Raven relaxed slightly as she explained the herbs before nodding to her question. "I'm sorry I ran out like that, i was trying not to wake you. Some males can be jerks like a few that I know of." Raven said flicking one of his ears annoyedly. He paused before looking back at Rose, "If you feel uncomfortable sleeping in the same den as me, we can make another den for you when we stop for the nights." He offered, blinking at her.

Rose breathed a sigh of relief. "I would appreciate that, thank you." She smiled tiredly at him. "Also. Sea wolves don't sleep in the sea. We are wolves too, although geniticly different then you grey wolves, we still are just wolves. We don't have gills. It would be awesome if we did though." She carefully spread the herbal paste onto a wide, flat leaf and gathered the vines under it into her mouth. She had stuck the vines to the leaf so they wouldn't just slide off, and carried it over to Raven and applied it to his wound, wrapping the vines around his chest and tying them as best she could tightly to hold the poltice on. She stepped back and eyed it critically. "It'll do for now." She grumbled and looked at Raven. "Let me know if I put enough in the mixture to dull the pain." She instructed firmly. "No toughing it out and being the strong silent type ."

Raven listened to her as she spoke before she wrapped vines around his chest to keep the wrapping from falling off. He flicked an ear at her before saying, "Not the first time I've gotten into a fight with a panther, certainly won't be the last. It'll be fine." He got up to walk over to one corner of the den, now walking with only a slight limp before he laid down. "Let's try to get some rest before dawn. We will head out then," He said to her, making sure she was okay before closing his eyes this time.

Rose shook her head at him before padding out of the den to curl up at the entrance. Perhaps this journey would be one of new friendships afterall. "Goodnight, Raven." She called softly before closing her own eyes and sighing tiredly. Slowly, she drifted off to sleep, lulled by the sound of the waves lapping the shore line a short distance away. From the trees, owls hooted, moose called, and crickets chirped. A slight breeze ruffled her dark fur, and she snuggled into her tail just a bit more.

And so she slept.

Dawn came faster than wanted. Raven yawned as the first sunrays filtered into the cave. He stretched, wincing slightly at his shoulder before flicking an ear. The birds were drowsily waking up and he padded to the entrance of the den. He spotted Rose outside still sleeping so he let her sleep a bit longer. Going out to the shore, he dug up a few of those clam looking things before dropping them next to her. Stalking into the woods, he listened before hearing a rustle to the side. Creeping forward, he scanned the ground before spotting the squirrel. He pounced quickly, snapping his jaws around it before scrapping some dirt over it. Creeping forward again, he flicked his ears up as he heard a crow. It flapped above his head and his mouth watered. He looked around himself to make sure no one was around before leaping. His jaws snapped around the crow, catching it straight from the air. Landing, he made sure no one was watching before going back for his squirrel.

Only a few rogues knew that his mother was a Sky Wolf. She had moved so fluently through the air but had died when he was but a pup. His father had taken another female which gave him his brother. The rogues would kill any Sky Wolf that they saw, hence was why they were on this dreaded island and he was on the run. Shaking out his fur, he padded back to the den before starting to eat his prey as he waited for Rose to wake up.

Slowly, Rose blinked open her eyes, her nose wriggling as it awakened her with the fresh scent of clams right by her snout. She sat up in a flash, head snapping around as she checked for Raven. Smelling his scent nearby, she breathed a sigh of reilef and then thanked the clams for their sacrifice before beginning to crack them open and lapping up the inside up quickly. Collecting the shells, she carried them into the den and sat them down, trotting out to stand at the edge of the sea and sing a song to greet the sun on their new day.

Raven finished his meal before padding back to the den, poking his head in before spotting the fresh pawprints of Rose heading towards the ocean. Using his tail to get rid of the pawprints, he walked down to the edge to stand beside her. "We need to start moving. We can get a good headstart this morning." He said, looking over at her as he spoke.

Rose nodded to him, wagging her tail slightly, a hint of sadness washing through her grey eyes before turning into a glint of an idea. "Indeed, just.. let me get something." Rose limp-trotted back to the den and scooped the pretty shells into her mouth befre trotting back out. She wagged her tail widely, and danced her front paws at him, happy to have found a way to bring her new treasure with her. She then rushed into the water and began to swim, watching Raven to see how he was running.

Raven waited until she came back, noticing the pretty shells in her mouth. He smiled slightly as she pranced in front of him before rushing into the water. Once she began to swim, he shook out his fur and started to go into a slow trot. His shoulder ached a little bit but as he went into lope, it settled into a relaxed ache that he could handle. Making himself go a little faster, he ran down the beach, looking out to see how Rose was doing.
