Rowan sat down on the ground in an area relatively clear of grass and flowers, "I don't know how far back to go. I guess I'll start with the stuff I know for sure. There was a peace treaty made with Rome - who had been posing a big threat to Britain....." Rowan continued on, telling the story of Britain, and what had been happening to the country as a whole, including the Great War, and briefly mentioned her own role in it.

Stig listened, entranced by Rowan's story, even if her theater skills were rather poor. Though he supposed he'd asked for actual history, not a play or some sort of campfire story. Pixies were well known for their story telling capabilities, so he had probably assumed a bit to much from the start. Still, he seemed rather happy to just be hearing about the outside world. Perhaps Rowan wasn't as animated as he would have liked her to be, but she definitely made up for it by hitting all the points of what had happened in the past years. Once she finally finished, Stig beamed a brilliant smile. "Thank you, truly. It is so wonderful to know what has been going on in the outside world, even if it is not particularly wonderful news, it's nice to know what's happening for once."

Rowan nodded, smiling back at Stig - or at least his vague form that was still a headache to focus on for too long, "Well... I am glad I could be of assistance. In the recent months I haven't really been paying much attention to what all has been going on, but for the most part I believe the country is quiet."

Stig nodded, his shimmering form looking rather at ease despite the stranger. Though he supposed Rowan wasn't a stranger, just a newcomer that happened to be rather helpful and nicer than most. "I just wanted to know what has been happening, no matter if the news is months old. I haven't been out there for... 126 years. Last I heard, some old king had been posioned or something around that. It is truly amazing to know that the humans haven't died out. Is there anything you might want to know? I have a lot of time, and not much to do to be quite honest." He flashed Rowan another grin, his form becoming a bit more visible and easier to locate.

"Oh... Humans are far from dying out. The population has grown.... a lot.... and it's crazy how long you've been here." Rowan didn't know how long she could stand to be isolated like that. Although Rowan wasn't very social, she liked being able to move and explore. Being stuck in one place, without the chance to leave, sounded horrible. Aside from that, though, Rowan tapped her lips, deciding to take the opportunity Stig gave her, "What is pixie society like?" She had seen how the faeries acted, and was curious about how different the pixies were. There was also Rowan's own curiosity about other groups that was the primary reason for her question.

Stig nodded, he'd heard whispers that the human population was growing rapidly, and that they would be the end of the pixie race. The very idea made Stig smirk, there was no way humans were going to ever pose a threat to pixies. Humans had always been the weakest, with very few magic users in existence. Rowan's question was a good one, as he had heard that human culture, although strict, was not nearly as harsh as pixies. "Ah, well that's a rather complicated question. In pixie society, your social standing decides everything in your life. Schooling, marriage options, jobs, in order to keep it easy, we have 5 groups of adults, each with 30 people, except the last group that has a few more than 30 pixies in it because our population is rather large. There are only three groups of children with around 15 in each group. We refer to each group as a ‘circle’, don’t ask why, I don’t actually know. Being in the first circle guarantees success, and being in the top ten of any circle is a relative honor. The first circle is reserved for those who work hard, maintain a good social standing, and those who were born into a high ranking family. The system is actually very fair, a witch and piie worked together a long time ago to build the boards that display each person’s ranking, and everything about the pixie is taken into consideration when the board ranks people. It’s all magic, so there is no bias when it comes to rankings.” Stig paused, allowing Rowan to take in the information. “Once a pixie reaches 54 years of age, they are put into the circles at a ranking ceremony. After the initial ranking, your ranking can change whenever. We find that it mostly changes on the full moon of each month though, we throw parties on full moons just as a celebration. It is the only time we are allowed to leave behind the very strict rules of our culture and act freely. Of course, we aren’t particularly free. Our highest ranking pixie controls everything that happens in the tribe, and the rules differ for each person. My own rules revolve around staying inside the forest at all times. They can’t lose their best scout after all.” Stig grinned, as he was both the best scout and assassin. Though he got the feeling that Rowan may not like the latter part of his job.

Rowan gave Stig her full attention, classifying this information away in a metal file. Once he was finished, Rowan still had to take a moment to let things sink in, "That is... crazy. Your people are strong, then, to maintain a system like that. I know I couldn't do it," She was much too restless for the pixie lifestyle, "And that must be hard... to not be able to leave the forest. I am glad that I could share some news of the outside world with you, then," Rowan cocked her head at the pixie's faint, shimmery form, and grinned.

Stig nodded, simply shrugging before replying. "I'm a naturally adventurous soul so it is quite annoying to be zapped when I try to leave the forest. The first time I ever did try to leave I dropped 20 rankings. It was the worst two weeks of my life." Stig paused, his eyes wandering for a moment as he debated telling Rowan the information. "Pixies are not the kindest of creatures, and they definitely did not spare me from constant harrassment when I dropped so horribly. I've never dropped that low since." Stig audibly gulped after he spoke, he had been a child and highly favored by their leader. The other kids had took the chance they had to do as much damage to him as they could before he regained his high ranking again. Stig shook off his sudden feelings of unease before speaking again. "Thank you, truly, for telling me about what it is like out there." He grinned, though it wasn't as wide as it had been.

Rowan frowned, a concerned look taking over her face, "That's... horrible. Just for trying to explore? Once?" Rowan shook her head, "I am sorry that happened to you. No one deserves to be treated that way." It was obvious with Stig's change in demeanor that something bad had to have happened to him. She wished she could... hug him, or something. He sounded like he needed a hug. Maybe Stig hadn't gotten enough as a child. In the pixie society, Rowan didn't find that hard to believe, "It was no problem, Stig."

Pixie society was harsh, and although Stig didn't entirely agree with it, at least he wasn't soft like the faeries were. Yea, maybe he'd grown up practically an orphan, with a faerie mother who'd returned once to give Stig his little sister before his mom had died. She hadn't given up Alvaro though, because Stig's brother was perfect and everyone loved him, and because he was a faerie. It wasn't fair, it wasn't fair at all. But he was already beginning to get his revenge, and it had started with Kori. "For you it wasn't but for the elders of my people, it is the worst crime. What I have done here today would get me banished. Fortunately no one knows, and I hope it stays that way." Stig's voice was filled with emotion as he continued on. "Rowan, I do not by any means expect you to come back ever, for you are a woman free to do what she wants. But please come back if you ever feel the want to. I-it gets lonely sometimes." Stig's eyes glazed over with pinkish tears before he blinked them away and cleared his throat. "It is up to you of course, do whatever you're comfortable with."
