Honeydew | F | M: Ayakai . . . Honeydew immediatly regretted faking a yawn when a faint look of distress came upon the Perytons features, and attempted a soft smile to reassure her it wasn't anything personal. The piebalds ears drew back with even more embarrassment when she realized Ayakai had heard her. She was taken a bit by surprise when the Peryton extended her wing towards the doe, but Honey was grateful she wasn't going to be judged for her sudden outburst. The doe extended her neck and took a step forward to sniff the smaller feathers which ran along the top of Ayakais wings. They smelled exactly like her, but with a hint of mint to them that made her fluffy tail swish like a fawns. She then very gently touched her nose to the feathers, and she was right! The feathers were the softest thing she's ever touched. "Gosh! They're softer than the cotton I occasionally catch floating in the wind!" The doe exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder. . . . At the smaller males growl, Clementine growled right back, lifting her upper lip to show her canines the slightest bit, ears swiveling back. If he decided he'd like to be rude, she'd match him with her own rudeness. It was a game she liked playing. She stared him down until the older male spoke, and her face returned to it's original state. She noticed them flinch at her comment about their mother and realized she had hit a soft spot, making a mental note to ask about it later. When she returned to the carcass, she watched the two as the darker werewolf spoke to the lighter one. Clem saw him give a reluctant nod and the darker male released him. If he chose to resume his attack, she would be prepared this time. But, alas, he did not and the she-wolf felt her limbs relax a bit. Clem lifted her head for a brief second as the two approached, the whole time with her eyes on the younger male. Then quickly lowered her head to rip off the leg she was previously enjoying and carried it where she could see both males, lay down, placed both paws atop the leg, and watched the pair. Her audits flicked towards the kinder male as he asked her a question. "Lovely. I'm Clementine, although you can settle for Clem." The she-wolf shrugged regarding them never seeing her before "I like to stay in the mountains, but this is where the deer herd lead me. That is, of course, until you two scared them off." The tip of her tail flicked up and down in distaste. At least she was quick enough to find the lone doe. "What about you two? It's not every day you spot a werewolf. Brothers at that." Also whats his problem? She wanted to add, but decided it was best not to.. At least for now. |

Ayakai | F | M: Honeydew Honeydew gave Ayakai a soft smile, and something inside Ayakai melted. As the honey doe stepped forward to brush her nose against Ayakai's feathers, she felt a shock-like feeling running up her body from where Honeydew's nose touched her feathers. She shivered slightly, before tilting her head as Honeydew spoke. Another burst of pride and happiness bloomed in Ayakai's chest as she commented on the softness of her feathers. "T-thank you. I try to take great care of my wings," she said softly, reluctant to fold her wing back. Instead, she turned her body slightly and lightly bumped the side of Honeydew's head. She felt like a fawn, the child-like side of her teasing the other doe. The Brothers | M | M: Clementine, Doe Atticus wanted to say something, ANYTHING. He wanted so badly to retort and insult the orange wolf. God, why was there so much orange? Surely that can't be normal. As Clementine moved, Atticus caught a whiff of something sweet, even honey-like. He furrowed his brow in confusion. Strange. Niko was smiling kindly at Clementine. "Ah, I quite like that name! Very serene," he said matter-of-factly. He nodded thoughtfully when she said she was from the mountains. "That would explain why I've never seen you before. My brother and I tend to stay away from the mountains." As he spoke, he glanced over at Atticus. "And my apologies for scaring the herd. I'm trying to teach my brother how to properly hunt-" He said, being interrupted by Atticus. "I would've known how to hunt if you knew how to properly teach and stop showing off," he spat venomously, finally looking up from the carcass. His chin was dripping with fresh blood, and his eyes seemed ablaze with anger. Niko remained silent, staring at his brother. Oh god. It's a staring contest. After a moment, Niko looked away, looking abashed. Atticus grunted, before standing. "I'm going to go get a drink. Talk about me all you want; I really couldn't care less." And with that, he promptly turned and stalked away, his tail lashing. Niko let out a breath as if he'd been holding it in for a while. "We're from the plains to the east. There used to be a lot more of us, but they..." he paused, his throat tightening as he remembered his family and friends. "They aren't here anymore." |

Honeydew | F | M: Ayakai . . . "I can see that," Honeydew agreed, "They're very nice to the touch.. What's it like? Having them, I mean. Is it difficult to fly? And do you-" The doe bit her tongue before she could ask any more questions. She had a lot of them, of course, but she didn't want to seem annoying for talking too much. She'd already embarrassed herself once.
"Sor-" She was in the middle of apologizing when Ayakais wing gently bumped her head. The doe looked up at Ayakai with wide eyes and grinned softly, bumping her nose against the Perytons wing just enough to move it a bit. A little idea started forming in the Piebalds head, and her eyes lit up with fawn-like mischief. Honeydew hesitated the slightest bit, but finally brought up enough courage to lift her head, align it with Ayakais, so close that their noses were almost touching, before bumping the Perytons twitching nose. "Tag," She whispered as a small giggle escaped her. Quickly after, she turned, hopping over the shrubs surrounding the two and into more little clearings in the forest, stopping to turn and look back at Ayakai, her head tilted and large ears swiveling to face her. . . . Clementine nodded, agreeing with Niko "My sisters name was Serene," She wondered out loud, her eyes unfocusing for a bit and everything becoming a blur. She quickly regained full consciousness and looked back at Niko "I disagree with my mothers choices, of course. I find it doesn't fit anything apart from my physical appearance. It is what is it though." She paused to look at the half-eaten deer leg, her appetite suddenly gone. "Is there a reason you stay away from the mountains? It has great hiding places." She was about to ask another question when she was interrupted by Atticus, who hadn't said anything this whole time. She lay there awkwardly as the two had a staring contest, it was amusing, to say the least, and she fought an urge to snort. Once the older male looked away, Atticus got up and walked away. It reminded her of a pup being told he couldn't have the last piece of carcass.
Clem watched the sandy male walk away before returning her attention back to Niko, catching his last words "They aren't here anymore." Clementine stood up, licking the honey away from the sides of her jaw and nodding solemnly "I understand. I'd like to ask, but you've only just met me, so I won't." She looked back to where she last saw Atticus then back at Niko "Listen, I'll try to do something about that, you take a break." She looked him up and down. "You look like you haven't had time off from each other in forever." And with that, she was off and padding down the same path Atticus had taken, tracking his scent. |

Ayakai | F | M: Honeydew As soon as Ayakai bumped her wing against Honeydew's head, a mischievous glint appeared in her beautiful warm eyes. She lifted her head and moved so close, they were almost touching noses. Ayakai felt her breath catch in her throat, her heart hammering painfully in her chest. Honeydew pressed her nose to Ayakai's, before whispering, "Tag." Ayakai blinked, and suddenly Honeydew was across the clearing, waving her tail playfully. Ayakai gasped, her hooves tapping in excitement. She shot after Honeydew, her wings flying out to the side. She glided towards Honeydew, letting out an excited bleat. The Brothers | M | Clementine Niko chuckled sadly as Clementine spoke. "Yeah, we've been together for... a while. Thank you," he said, smiling at Clem. "Just be careful; he's a bit spiky when he's angry." As Clem padded away, Niko resumed digging into the doe, blood dripping down his chin. He was... kinda gross about it, slurping up the intestines and crunching the bones in his teeth, licking his claws from all blood. ... Meanwhile, Atticus was sitting beside a stream, his tail still lashing furiously. He was grumbling under his breath, but he grew quiet after a moment. He shuddered, and the fur covering his body slowly shrunk back into his skin. He was once again human; he could never go super long in his wolfish form. He took a shaky breath, clenching his fists and closing his eyes tight. A hot tear slipped down his cheek. If only he weren't such a screw-up. He could've been able to provide for his family. Hell, he could've saved them. But no. He was the smallest, the slowest, the weakest. The runt. Anything and everything he did would end in failure. The words his father had spat at him so many times were circling in his head, pushing his own thoughts out and replacing them. He let out a low growl, his chest heaving as more tears poured out of his eyes. He didn't want to be a failure, but he couldn't help it. He would always be nothing but a nobody. |

Honeydew | F | M: Ayakai . . . Honeydew's heart melted as she watched Ayakais exited tippy-taps on the grass, and she got momentarily distracted. She re-focused just in time to dodge the Peryton. The doe hopped to the side and landed with a small thump. She giggled like a fawn and lowered her head, doing little tippy-taps with her hooves as well, teasing Ayakai. She then lifted her head and pranced behind a small boulder she could just barely see over, occasionally ducking when she thought Ayakai was going to see her, the only thing giving her away being the tips of her ears as they focused on the Peryton. . . . The she-wolf slowly started picking up the scent of a small bit of running water, and then heard it. As she followed the sound, the not yet familiar scent of Atticus got stronger. She looked up and spotted him just as the last pieces of fur turned into skin and shuddered, she'd need to get used to that. She saw him shudder the slightest bit, like someone who had just taken a breath three seconds before they started crying. She wanted to feel guilty for not feeling any sort of pity, but she simply didn't know enough about the two to care. As she got closer, she realized it wouldn't be best to sneak up on him, remembering what Niko had said to her about being careful. She instead opted for heading a bit down stream. Clementine creeped out of the shelter of the trees and to the stream, lowering her snout to lap up a bit of water. As she did so, she realized they two wouldn't be able to understand her when they were in their human form, so at least she couldn't say anything that would upset them. She snorted at the idea, making bubbles as she did so. She slowly rose and looked at Atticus, making a very quiet, puppy-like yawn sound. It sounded ridiculous to her, but at least it wouldn't scare Atticus. She then crept a little closer and lay down a few meters away from the werewolf, her head on the ground and her looking up at him with dilated pupils. She intended to stay silent and not throw any expressions at him, which was, might she tell you, very hard for her to do as she waited for him to gather himself. She was a pathetic sight in her eyes, but she hoped it worked. |

Ayakai | F | M: Honeydew The peryton hopped, turning in a circle to watch the doe. She picked her head up as Honeydew copied the pose that she had done earlier, and she let out a laugh. Ayakai jumped into a pose almost exactly like a dog, her rump in the air. She wagged her tail, a few loose feathers scattering about as Honeydew pranced and hide behind a boulder, peeking over the edge at Ayakai. As the honey doe hid behind the rock again, Ayakai quickly went the opposite way around the boulder, crouching low and folding her wings. She wanted to snicker mischievously, but she held it in. Atticus | M | M: Clementine The werewolf took a steadying breath, his eyes still closed. He didn't want to be in this never-ending loop for very long; if left alone, he could sit all day and think about how much of a screw-up he was. Instead, he focused on the sounds of the stream. The burbling of the cold and refreshing water running over the round river stones filled his ears. It was rhythmic and calming. A slight breeze rustled the leaves overhead, and somewhere above him, a squirrel chittered. The sound of wings fluttered through the air as birds soared from one branch to another, chirping their merry songs to one another. As Atticus sat and listened to the world around him, his anger and sadness seemed to ease up. A sense of overwhelming calm and peace washed over him, and his furrowed brow relaxed. Even his clenched fists loosened, planting themselves on either side of him. A bubbling sound a few meters away stood out, but Atticus quickly shooed it away; it was probably some minnow snatching a little bug from the surface of the water. Then something yawned. Atticus's eyes flew open, and he looked beside him, startled. To his surprise, the orange wolf they had met earlier was laying near him, her head resting on the ground and looking up at him. All of his negative emotions crashed back as he scowled at the honey wolf. "What do you want?" he spat, lifting one hand from the ground to clench into a fist at his side. How long had she...? Oh god. Atticus turned his head away, frantically wiping away the tears that hadn't fully dried on his cheeks. He cursed himself quietly, before glancing back at the she-wolf. She hadn't seen him crying, right? God, he hoped not. |

Honeydew | F | M: Ayakai . . . As Honeydew tried her best to stay hidden behind the oulder, she head the soft woosh of Ayakais wings as they folded. She grinned and very quietly tip-toed so that she was behind the sea-green Peryton. When she could finally see the tips of her tail feathers, she very slowly reached out and gently tugged at the longest one, making sure Ayakai felt it, but it didn't hurt her. Once she did, she hopped back behind the boulder and stood peeking around the corner at Ayakai, waiting to see her reaction. Clementine | F | M: Atticus
. . . At his bitter reaction towards her, Clementines ears swiveled back and growled at him, still in a laying position. She thought he was going to walk away when he turned his head, but instead she realized he was wiping his still-visible tears. Only then did she begin to wonder what made him so angry all the time. Maybe it ws because of what Niko had told her, that they had lost their family. The thought quickly dissapeared though, as he glanced back at him. Clementine looked back up, all traces of a growl gone and in its place, a puppy-like expression as she looked around. This is going to be humiliating. Clementine stood up and realized she was a tad taller than Atticus and grinned, knowing she had advantage. She looked at him for a second longer before spotting a pebble a little way off. She trotted to get it and picked it up delicatly with her front teeth then turned and trotted back to Atticus, dropping it near his clenched fist. Clem looked down and realized a few drops of honey had trickled from her cut and onto it, debating if she should clean it off. Instead, she stopped herself and shuddered with self-disgust. That's crossing the line, dear god, pull yourself together. She sat and waited, audits and golden orbs all focused on Atticus. |

Ayakai | F | M: Honeydew Ayakai was expecting the doe to peer out right where she was so that the peryton could scare her, but what she WASN'T expecting was Honeydew pulling on her tail. She bleated in surprise, and jumped up, whirling around like an excited fawn. She tilted her head, trotting to the side. She lowered her head, sniffing the ground, and flicked one ear back. She prepared to jump and scare Honeydew, and she steadied her wings. Atticus | M | M: Clementine Atticus stared suspiciously at the orange wolf, looking her up and down as she studied him. Her face was strangely innocent-looking. When she stood, Atticus flinched, before leaning away slightly. She trotted away, and he watched her with a slightly confused expression. When she turned back, he saw something in her teeth, but he couldn't quite tell what it was. She dropped it at his hand, before sitting down again. Atticus glanced at Clementine, before looking down at the object. It was... a rock. "Seriously?" he said, picking it up. It was slightly sticky. Gross. "What is this, some sort of peace offering? I don't want it," he said, before tossing it to the other side of the stream. He turned his head away from the wolf, pulling his knees close to his chest and placing his hand in the cold water, letting it wash away the honey-like substance on it. |

Honeydew | F | M: Ayakai . . . Honeydew attempted to fight back a giggle, but it escaped her so she quickly tucked her snout into her chest fur to try and quiet it. She peeked back around the corner and her head tilted in surprise. Honey turned around to peek from the other side, and still no one there..At least she thought so. She wasn't expecting to look down and see Ayakai crouched there, so when she did, Honey jumped up in surprise, her tail high and neck fur slightly puffed up. She giggle and ran to a nearby shrub, doing a sort of awkward kneel so she could hid the tip of her nose behind the plant. Clementine | F | M: Atticus
. . . The she-wolf watched him eagerly as the werewolf picked up the rock. "What is this? Some sort of peace offering? I don't want it," She watched the pebble be tossed across the stream with dismay then looked back at Atticus with fake shock. A peace offering? Sir might I let you know I would never give you a peace offering over my dead body. God, why are you so difficult. She almost gasped when he turned his head away from her, so she abruptly stood and walked to the other side of him so he could see her. She growled at him then nudged his shoulder a little too hard before trotting a little ways away from him. She calculated the distance on how much spring she should put in her jump and took off at a slow gallop, bounding over the stream in one smooth motion. She landed on the other side right beside the pebble Atticus tossed so carelessly. Picking it up, she hopped on a rock close by, then into the water in front of the werewolf, purposely splashing him with the cool water.
She snorted at him as if to say "Karma, bitch." before trotting over to him and this time placing the rock in front of him then moving a little bit to the side, wagging her tail with her head tilted innocently. If you make me go into the water again I will mercilessly drag you in with me. |

Ayakai | F | M: Honeydew ... As soon as Honeydew jumped up in surprise, the peryton flared her wings, leaping up and chasing after her. The doe hid behind a small shrub, the tip of her nose peeking out from the little leaves. Ayakai pranced over to her, sniffing her twitching nose but not touching it. She lifted her head and pretended to be confused, looking from side to side, but her eyes glinted happily. She shrugged with her wings and laid down just inches away from the shrub, pretending to yawn widely, flicking her wing ever so slightly in the direction of Honeydew. Wearing an aloof expression, she glanced over at the doe, letting a small smile play on her lips as she saw the doe's wagging tail. She felt her own tail feathers shiver happily, before looking away again. Again, she moved her wing, this time ever so gently brushing against Honeydew's nose. She shuddered at the contact, before pulling away, stretching her neck. ... Atticus | M | M: Clementine The werewolf saw Clem come into view and watched her with a slightly annoyed expression. She growled at him, and just before he snarled back, she stepped forward to nudge his shoulder. He flinched back, a look of slight surprise on his face before he melted back into the spiky ball of anger. She turned abruptly and he watched her with contempt as she leaped gracefully across the stream. He felt a slight twinge of awe as she did so, perhaps even admiration, before he was once again shoved out of the way by anger. He rolled his eyes as she picked the pebble up again, and looked away, focusing on a small minnow that was now bumping against his fingers. All of a sudden, he saw a shadow cross in front of him, and orange paws slammed down into the water, spooking the minnow away and completely drenching him in water. He let out a yelp of alarm, jumping up.
"The hell was that for?!" he exclaimed, utterly enraged. He glared at her as she tilted her head and wagged her tail. "As soon as my cooldown is over, I'm so going to end you." |
