Bryn | 10 | Ash Tribe | Shaman | M: Night

There she was. A little black blob of fuzz, barely out of pup-hood. She was out scavenging for moss. Not only was it comfortable to sleep on, but it easily absorbed liquid. Thus a perfect use to carry water to and fro from camp for nursing mommas, who were always reluctant to leave week-old pups alone in the den. However, today she was gathering it just for bedding. Sure, she was close to the border between Ash and Oak, but it was the best moss in the territory. Suddenly an evil mass of fur leapt over her, teeth gnashing and hackles risen. It was mountainous comparing to her and its eyes were red slits that glowed like fire.

She ran.

She dashed towards camp, but the strange dog blocked her way. She scrambled to turn and barely just missed his swipe at her. She hurried forward with fuzzy hair being rustled around from the wind she was creating. Her heart seemed to be in her throat. She dodged the trees that surrounded her and so did the monster behind her. She felt her legs grow weary and her pads were sweating. She wasn’t used to having to run like this. She hadn’t noticed that she had crossed the border and it didn’t seem that her persuader did either. Her paws were still awkward and she tripped over a root. Then the evil dog slammed their front paws on top of her small frame, causing her to yip, both from pain and fear. There was a laugh and then a shuddering agony that entered her body, but she couldn’t place their origin. It rippled through her body and that was all she felt besides her fear scent that filled air. Then it began to fade until she could not feel nothing at all.

Then he woke up.

Bryn jumped up from his dream. His pads were sweaty and his pounding heart began slowed down to normal. It had been just yesterday from whence her body had been found. He had sent her out for bedding, giving her a tip to where to find it. If only he hadn’t told her about the patch by the border. She would still be alive, having gotten it from the closest pile down by the little brook that ran just south of camp. He partially blamed himself, but he knew that he couldn’t rewrite time. He mainly blamed the dog who did it. In no circumstance imaginable would it have been Night’s fault. She was a gentle youth who knew better than to talk to strangers outside of the half-moon meetings. He knew it wasn’t wise, but he slowly was building a solid hatred towards Oak.

Night was dead and she was the future of the pack. He was growing old and getting stiff in the bones. He found himself reluctantly waking up with the sun and wanting to go to bed early. He accidentally would take naps when he was supposed to be gathering herbs and water. Ash would be incredibly venerable and unfairly disabled to Oak if he would drop dead one day. He knew that they needed him active and at full health. He was looking forward to retiring after Night had mastered the reins. She was doing so well and had fabulous memory of the different herbs and their many uses. But she was dead. Mauled, he thought darkly.

He stretched and popped his back, which relieved him of some pressure that had bunched up there during his sleep. Unlike many, many mornings, he didn’t want to go back to bed. Not with a nightmare like that. He believed that it was just a dream, not a message from an ancestor because it didn’t show or even give a hint to who Night’s killer was. It just showed how it happened, which didn’t matter. He wanted a face, a name to this soulless beast. Until then, he would have to continue his duties; alone.

Quilo || Ash Warrior || 3 Years, 5 Months || M: Chinook, Night (Ref), Luna, Rue

A flash of black and dirty white barreled out of one of the dens in the Ash Tribe’s camp. The dog stumbled for a second – having run through a mess of vines to exit the den – before straightening his stance. His heavy coat seemed to vibrate from the movement. Lifting his head high, husky mix puffs out his chest and pricks his ears while lifting a slightly curled tail into the air – his pose similar to that of a “hero” dog. His icy blue eyes shone in pride.

Quilo stands in that position for a few seconds, looking around the camp at the numerous pack members who were also awake. He quickly spots his Alpha, and makes up his mind to head over to him. Shaking out his pelt of any leaves, he trots off – a grin clear on his muzzle.

Now, don’t get him wrong. The young warrior was terribly upset over the death of the Shaman Apprentice, even if he barely knew them. After all, they were packmates. However, he wouldn’t let this death drag him down. He had to keep moving on, for the betterment of the pack.

Making his way to Chinook, he spies two packmates near the Alpha’s cave. Rue and… Luna. A tingling feeling fills his heart and cheeks, fur standing on end. An idea worms its way into his head as he gets close to passing by them. He picks up the pace to enact it.

“Morning Rue! Morning Luna,” the husky-like male calls, his tail still held high and wagging. When directly in front of them, he enacts his plan. He jumps into the air and spins in a circle before landing near-perfectly on his feet. He closes his eyes in glee – happy to have actually done the move properly and prances forward like a deer… only to trip over a small stone.

A small yelp escapes his maw as he lands on his neck and chest. Blood rushes to his cheeks in embarrassment. Quilo moves quickly to escape the scene, getting to his feets and cantering his way into a crowd of dogs. When out of sight, he shakes off his pelt and continues his way to the Alpha.

He stops not far from the terracotta and cream colored mutt, puffing out his chest. “Quilo reporting for duty, Sir!”

Kaylie | 3 | Female | Oak Tribe | Warrior
Kaylie nods "yea i do remember" she said softly. She would roll her eyes "how dare you use me as a pillow sir" she said in a playful tone matching his. Kaylie would think for a moment "yea if we don't have anything to do we can go hunting" she said happily. After she heard him asking about pups her face grew warm as if she was blushing. "I love pups and hope to maybe have some of my own someday, however with whatever is happening right now i don't think it's a good idea" she said honestly. Kaylie would then look around at the other's waiting for Mike to respond. She would notice Ringer near them and she smiled at him slightly to be polite. "Good morning, yes we are ready for the patrols." she said happily. "We haven't went hunting just yet might go hunting in a few minutes though." Kaylie said truthfully.

Mishka
Female | Ash | Warrior | M: Open
.
Revealing her golden orbs, the female took in the light that crept over her fur. Last night was the first night she had gotten rarely any sleep. Of course, due to the traumatic event that had just taken place. Her heart stayed with the poor apprentice. She couldn't dare try to find the murderer, as she was afraid of her own actions if she ever laid eyes on the monster. Mishka sighed as she rose to her swift paws.
.
Thoughts had crossed her mind. Most of them were if they were going on a patrol, whether it was to protect the territory or find the myseterious canine behind this murder. Mishka wouldn't mind going on the patrol. She flicked her ears as she made her way near her tribe mates. A lot of them were already involved in conversations, so Mishka decided to sit back and observe.
.
Her tail flicked as she watched the canines closely, soon spotting her Alpha, Chinook. An uneasy feeling clouded her mind as she sat in the open space. She started to fiddle with her tail to distract her mind from all the unnecessary thoughts. Mishka awaited for Chinook to give out tasks to each of them. At least it would be something useful to do, instead of her just sitting around.

Rue | F | Warrior | Ash | M: Luna, Quilo

She was accompanied by a another dog female. Luckily she could see who it was with her good eye. She barked,"Feeling? Well that's the begging question of the day Luna. At the moment it's mixed of emotion of anger and extreme grief. But mostly the feeling of numbers of the incident to the young one." She swisher her tail. She probably seemed off dor saying the such of thing. But Luna asked the truth and Rue has never lied for a reason. And the truth is a truth. She wasn't gonna sugar coat that she was optimistic of the day.

Her eyes ventured to the male that she dwelled to see nearly day. The Quilo, flirtatious male dog that tried to impress the damsels only to make a fool of himself. Her eyes were filled with uninterest as he greeted them. As intentionally he tries to impress him but tremendously fails as the act. She chuckles in amusement and her predictions of being right. Hopeless males with the act of trying to impress a male. Females will be either be drooling by the masculinity or the funny males that try to impress themselves. In that case of the male in front of her. Now who's looking like pathetic mutt kissing up to Chinook. She grunted at the sight she was seeing.

Her eyes drifted to Luna aside to her. She barked,"Well, now my begging question. How are you feeling? As I feel our very compassionate shaman's poor heart has broken into a thousand pieces. And not sure if it'll be put together again." Her eyes drifted to the shaman with pure sadness with the pity in he react. Her guard duty made it seem it was her fault. How did she let this happen? Was it her scarred ugly face causing the blindness? What happened to her being there for everyone? Chinook and her brother was there for her since day one. Ever since the fight happen she has pushed them away with little to no one to speak to. Her fault. She will always take the blame for everything cause Rue needed to fix everything she sees. She fails into that task it breaks her everytime.

Avalon | 5 | Oak Tribe| Lieutenant | M: Cawls, Mike, Kaylie, Breeze

Avalon woke up after a restless night. He was concerned about what had happened yesterday. The Ash apprentice was dead and on Oak land. He knew that Ash would blame them for it. They always pass blame on others. It wasn’t that he was concerned for how this would impact Ash, he could care less about them and their weeping. It was Oak that caught his full attention. The marks on the body were undoubtedly made by a dog’s bite, the scent confirmed it too. However, the particular scent could not be traced to an individual due to a rain. He wracked his brain about who had been present before the rain. It was difficult to recall since his memory wasn’t the sharpest and the days, being rather routine, blended together.

It wasn’t just the thought of a murderer among his pack, but that Oak seemed to be low on pups. He knew that Ash was filled with the young, who would then rise to become able fighters. Including these, they outnumbered Oak by two. Ash wasn’t filled with little things either, they were fairly large, the smallest being their shaman. With a dead shaman (apprentice or not) and a killer in his pack, he knew that war would break out—maybe not immediately, but in the near future. By then, their spawn would at least be trainable. They’d be an intimidating foe and he wasn’t sure how well his pack would fare. He watched a long, squat dog sleep nearby. That one will be buzzard food, he thought sadly, if only he had more leg and less length. I hope all he doesn’t have kids and if he does, I hope he marries a tall, skinny girl. He paused for a moment to see if he really had meant it. He wasn’t surprised when he found out that he had.

He didn’t have a mate of his own, if he did, he’d definitely talk with her about having a litter. Not just for the future little warriors, but also because he’d love to have children. It was on his bucket list. However, he just hadn’t found anyone yet to make them. He did pray and wish for a future pregnancy to appear somewhere among the pack.

He stretched out his legs and let out a long yawn. He smacked his lips a couple times and trotted out from his den. He looked around and noticed Mike and Kaylie sitting next to each other, being romantic and such. They were a young couple and he cocked his head at them, predicting their future pups. Kaylie was just a bit smaller than himself. She was muscular and well-built. She had a unique brindle pattern to her that made her stand out and her head shape was broad with good jaws for biting down. Mike was also thickly made, with strong, solid legs to hold up his furry body. Yes, their children would certainly have a compact build and be decent sized animals.

He then realized that his staring at them was creepy and odd so he turned the other way, hoping that the pair hadn’t noticed. He trotted around camp, noticing the waking pack-mates; curious about what the alpha would think of these recent events. He hoped that she would awake soon, so that the day could begin. He was glad that she was alpha and that he wasn’t. He might have some leadership skills, but he knew that he would not be capable during a circumstance like the one they were currently in.

Cawls | 2.5 | Oak Tribe | Warrior | M: Avalon, Raven

Cawls woke up a little bit after Avalon. He watched the mottled lieutenant pass by. He hadn’t talked too much with him, but he liked him. He seemed friendly, however, Cawls was frightened. Not because he was larger than himself, rather because he was scared of what he’d think. Cawls was an oddly marked dog, having brown markings over his eyebrows and a fluffy white bum that was perfectly marked so that each cheek was a white color. He was embarrassed by these colorings and didn’t want dogs to laugh at him. He had friends who told him not to worry and he couldn’t help but be. No matter the many times they tried to assure him.

He stood up and stretched his long body out and in. Then he arched his back like a cat would. He didn’t do it often because he hadn’t seen other dogs do it, but sometimes his back really needed it. Plus, he didn’t see anyone looking at him and some were still asleep. After he finished that routine, he shook and left his bed behind him.

He greeted different members with a wag of his tail and found a brown female. She was taller than him, about double his height. She had a nice darker highlights which were attractive. He slightly envied them. He never let it grow, however, because he knew it would make him sour towards her and she was a friend.

“‘Ello, Raven!” He hallooed her and plopped his bum down like he usually did. “How are you today? I’ve been splendid so far this morning. I think today’s going to be a good day.” His tail wagged fiercely, brushing up along his back. “That is as long as it doesn’t rain. Clouds are looking feisty. Dreadful rain it did do yesterday, yes. Completely horrendous! Oh no…” he trailed off and his tail became uncommonly still. The mention of rain reminded him of yesterday. He had forgotten in his worry about his appearance about what had happened to the apprentice.

He felt awful and terrible that he had been so self absorbed that he had forgotten an event that would change everything between the tribes. Of course, he hadn’t been on the patrol that had found the body. If he had been then he probably would’ve remembered. Still, he felt guilty not to have recalled the little dog, barely an “adult”.

“I can’t believe that I forgot.” He murmured to himself.

Mora/Shaman/Oak/5/Female
Mora looked around and spotted a few dogs but none the less she didn't see Sage yet. Mora thought this girl where is she? Mora started to walk around camp and wasn't paying attention. She bumped into Claws purely by accident. She said "I'm so sorry!" Mora then stepped back and looked at Claws. Mora wondered if he was okay. She asked "Hey are you okay?" She looked at claws questionably. She hoped he was. Mora looked around and thought the Alpha isn't up yet. She saw he was talking with Raven and said "Sorry for interrupting I will be on my way now." She turned and went to look for Sage but before she did she said to claws " If you see Sage could you tell her I need her and also if you need anything I'll be in my den." Mora then started to walk around looking for Sage but after 10 minutes she decided to go back to her cave and laid down. Mora thought about the poor Ash shaman apprentice who was killed and mauled by someone or something.

Nymph || Oak Tribe || Warrior || M: Tribe Members (Ind), Open

The night was a restless one, Nymph’s thoughts far too awake to allow her to sleep peacefully. She was simply thankful for getting the fair few hours she had gotten. Some was better than none. The female couldn’t get the young dog who had clearly been mauled to death out of her mind. It was one thing killing a dog that young and another that they were the apprentice to the ash tribe’s Shaman. On her tribe's land as well, this wasn’t going to sit well with either of the tribes and her gut told her this wasn’t going to end all that pretty. Part of her wanted to believe that her tribe wouldn’t commit such an atrocity but deep down she knew it couldn’t be ruled out. It was clearly a canines doing.

Maybe, just maybe, it was a dog from the Ash tribe that killed the apprentice and planted them on our land. Nymph blinked, lifting her head from on her paws and lifting herself up to stand, shaking her thin coat out to rid herself of such a thought. They wouldn’t. At least she hoped they wouldn’t. It was all so confusing, so many questions with no one to answer them. There was no point in trying to get any more sleep with the day now starting. Rest should come easier tonight.

With a yawn and another stretch, Nymph moved from where she was sleeping to stretch her legs and wake herself up some more. She didn’t want to look as tired as she felt but knew her eyes would hold some tiredness to them, it was unavoidable without actually sleeping it off. The female glanced around to the few fellow canines that were up and about. She couldn’t help but be glad that it wasn’t their own apprentice that had been mauled and yet, felt guilty for thinking such. Their own tribe was already too low on pups and young dogs, the death of their apprentice would hit them even harder.

Then again, Ash could easily retaliate and go for Sage to make everything even. Nymph’s short fur bristled at the idea. Such dark thoughts would only cause a headache this early in the morning. She had gotten up to avoid them but they kept flooding in. A low grumble fell from her chest, stretching once more before turning to head towards the closest stream. Maybe a nice cold drink would soothe her somewhat.

Mora/Shaman/5/Female/Oak
Mora started to sort herbs to see what she need and how much. She thought about the Ash tribe and her fellow Shaman. After she finished sorting she walked out of her cave. Mora saw Nymph and walked up to her. Mora said "Morning Nymph." She looked at her and smiled. Mora didn't really interact to much with her tribe mates because of being busy helping others but in the mornings she interacts with them when she can't find Sage. Mora asked "Nymph do you know where Sage is by any chance?" She looked up while waiting for an answer. She thought about her parents. She wasn't sure what was gonna happen between the tribes now but hoped nothing bad would happen. She wondered if there tribe will ever have any pups. She had more of a feeling that they would but just not right now. Mora looked back at Nymph and waited for her answer although she was still deep in thought she could her everything. Mora looked around checking for Sage but no sign of Sage. Mora looked back at Nymph.
