Silver & Foxes | Members | SFP | M: Bardou
A snarl sounded behind her, but she paid it no mind as she kept limping for the ledge. Not that it was really needed, she noticed after a moment. Setting down Frost under the ledge, she turned to watch the herd move off. Bardou seemed to be doing a pretty good job at moving the herd away from them. Panting slightly, she watched the herd move off before turning her attention to Bardou. She had a couple crimson streaks running down her pelt from her reopening wounds.

Silver waited until the female got to them, listening to her words. "We'll be fine. I think. Just need a bit of rest. You should as well." Silver said, nodding to the small den where they were. Frost had curled into a half ball, his ears pinned back. The fang marks from the cougar was still on his tail and stung. He couldn't reach them to clean though. Silver gave him a look before looking around for Icicle. She was nowhere in sight. "Here," Silver clawed up some moss with her good paw before laying it on the ground. Whether the female was standing, sitting or laying down, Silver started to lick her wounds.

It was only a few minutes after the encounter that Icicle returned. She had cobwebs wrapped around one of her paws and a ball of wet moss in her mouth. Silver stayed put, watching as Icicle plopped the moss onto Frost's tail, earning a hiss. Unwrapping a cobweb from her paw, she held it up. Frost tipped his nose up to catch it and held it there while Icicle went to cleaning his tail. Silver watched them for a moment before Icicle hopped over to give her the ball of moss. She took it before squeezing it onto Bardou's wounds. Once most of them were covered, she dropped the moss to the side. Icicle joined her to help place the cobwebs before disappearing back into the forest with the moss ball.

"What made you come after us? Shalah is going to have a fit when she sees you like this." Silver said, flicking an ear. Icicle came back only a moment afterwards, carrying the ball of moss again. Silver laid down, letting the fox take care of her paw. She tilted her head back to Bardou, waiting for a reply.

Hondo l Male l Beta l Eastern l M: Veracious, Killjoy, Xola and River (ind)
.
Hondo smiled a little, which quickly turned into a wince. Hondo quickly tried to move his left hind leg, which he couldn't manage. He attempted to move his right one too, but that just sent a surge of pain up his spine. His shoulders were sore. But that wouldn't be considered serious. If he had any chance of making it, he and Veracious had to get back to camp. Even if Xola and River made it back, it'd be hopeless. Killjoy was the only one here, and he won't be able to get both Hondo and Veracious back to camp. "Veracious. Do you think you'd be able to walk? We need to get back to camp before nightfall." He looked to Killjoy, the Alpha still applying herbs and water to his and Veracious's wounds. "I'm not gonna be able to walk, I can't move my back legs. You need to get Veracious back to camp. By then Xola should be here with River." He knew this probably looked weird, the Beta speaking like this to the Alpha. Hondo didn't know what his reaction would be. But yet he knew somehow that Killjoy would understand.

Aoife || 4 Years || Female || Eastern Scout || M: Hondo, Veracious, Killjoy, Shadow, Night, Xola & River
...
As she waited for instruction the sound of paw steps reached her ears, and she swiveled to see the group arriving. Two she scented from the other packs, along with the female that had alerted everyone to what happened, along with the medic much to her relief. Aoife dipped her head briefly to the two alphas in silent acknowledgment, glancing briefly at River and inclined her nose. She wasn't too familiar with the she-wolf but she'd earned her respect for being quick to take action to aid their packmates, that was something she could always respect.
The black-pelted male moved toward her catching her attention, alpha Shadow if memory served. She lowered her head slightly in respect, she was about to speak when his voice stopped her, asking her to assist in removing the leopard's body. "Of course Alpha, that would be wise" Aoife responded, quickly moving after the larger male. Frowning slightly as she lowered and crawled under the feline's body, the blood causing her fur to stick uncomfortably. Shifting as the weight settled on her back, her jaw set tight in discomfort yet she remained silent, carefully following in step beside Shadow.
It didn't take long to reach an acceptable distance away, she silently thanked the strength of the larger male, she would've never been able to haul the beast this far on her own. Aoife was built for speed, not strength. She gave the alpha a grateful nod in thanks before padding to the border, pausing briefly she decided it might be best to refresh the marker, just in case. Shaking her pelt roughly as she tried in vain to rid some of the dirt that stuck to where the feline's blood had coated her pelt. 'No use' she sighed dejectedly before trotting back to the group, her gaze assessing the gathered wolves. If they worked in groups they could probably managed to get the two injured back to camp without much incident.
While Aoife tended to stay silent and wait for orders, she felt the need to speak up almost as a way to further prove her loyalty to the pack, to the alpha who'd so graciously taken her in after being a loner when she'd arrived in the area. Cautiously she approached her pack's alpha along with who she remembered as Night. "I believe if two each were to support them we could get them back to camp with relative safety, and if I may. I could help with Veracious" she voiced dipping her head politely to the two alphas. Aoife hoped that she wasn't speaking too out of turn, but it was likely their best shot at getting the two back without too much risk. She cast a glance at the injured female, while they hadn't conversed much she knew the she-wolf was a respected hunter. Briefly assessing her size and probable weight Aoife could confidently say that if required to carry she could do so with the help of another wolf, the male however would likely prove to be too much for her over the distance back to camp. This she knew with reasonable certainty. Turning her attention back to the two males before her hesitantly waiting for their verdict.

Killjoy | Eastern | Alpha | The rescue group

His attention went from his packmates that were hurt to River as she stopped nearby not getting in the way. His heart fluttered as he stared at her for a moment, his eyes softening in that moment. His eyes trailed back to his Beta as he spoke. In a brief moment Killjoy's ears flicked back to let him know that the orders weren't apprecated. "Yes Hondo, we are working on it." He retorted, his hair standing slightly on edge. He sighed, listening to the others around him. His eye caught Aoife, and he nodded his head at her slightly, "Thank you for your help." He said gently, his eyes locking with River's as he made up a plan in his mind. While the leopard would be a good meal for the pack, his focus would be moreso on getting his packmates home, as his Beta had said.

Hondo and Veracious were both needing help home through the forest. While Killjoy knew that Xola was capable, he wouldn't put that strain on his Medic. "You are going to hate me for good reason Xola, but I need you to run home to prepare your den for these two, please." He said in a firm way. His eyes yet again lingered on his mate-to-be, silent as he thougt of where to put her. "Aoife, I would very much so appreciate your help with Veracious." His blue eys flicked back and forth ever so slightly as he put teams together in his mind. "Shadow, you'll help me with Hondo, Night, would you please help Aoife with Veracious?" He asked, taking control of the situation. "River," His voice softened, "Can you run back with Xola? We'll be right behind you if you guys run into a issue." He asked her if she would do it, this clearly set her apart from the rest where he'd told them what to do. He wanted her opinion on this and wanted to allow her the freedom to choose what she wanted to do.

.

Without another word, he gently lifted Hondo up by his shoulder, allowing Shadow to ready himself for the treak back to their home. "Tell me when you are ready." He said, watching Shadow closely. "Thank you for all of your help." He whispered, gazing down at the forest floor in a bashful way, "I'd be very lost without you and Night." He was embarrassed at how poorly he ran his pack, allowing them to wander without no real control of the lower packmates. Clearly they came and went when they wanted. The other Alphas always seemed to be stepping in to help him, and to save his packmates. The feelings from his everlasting internal fight of if he was truely suited for this job came flooding back with the guilt of not being properly prepared for the winter. He'd have to speak with his Beta's when they got home about this, and giving Hondo a firm scolding about not letting him know where he was going.

River | F | Transitioning Alpha Female | Eastern Pack | M: Rescue group
Shadow | M | Alpha | SFP | M: Rescue group
Night | M | Alpha | SFP | M: Rescue group
Shadow got to the edge of the meadow, and once he was sure the female was out from under the leopard, he arched his back, allowing it to roll off. He flicked an ear at her nod of thanks, acknowledging the gesture before walking back to the group. While blood stuck to his fur, it was not an unknown feeling. He'd get to it later. He made it back to the group to hear Killjoy's instructions. Night stood up, walking over to the injured female before laying down next to her. "Aoife correct? Would you mind getting her onto my back? I can carry the brunt of the weight provided you support the trouble areas." Night said, tilting his body so there would be very little room between him and Veracious. The less they had to move the female, the better.

River listened to Killjoy's words, contemplating them for a moment before straightening. "Xola, I apologize for dragging you all the way out here just to run back," Her tone had a slight playful manner before it turned serious, "However, if you could assist me on the way back to clear a path for them, it would be greatly appreciated. The best way to go is up the scout's path so we can avoid that steep hill, and the less debris on the path will make travel time easier and faster. Once we're back at camp, let me know what assistance you might need so I can help." She said before an ear flicked back to Shadow. "Did Shalah already head back down the mountain?" River said, perking up slightly. "I don't know where Ore went but Shalah is quick. She could get here fast." River said, flicking an ear towards his territory.

Shadow listened to the conversations before hearing River's request. He flicked his tail before letting out a bellowing howl, a clear call for the medic. He doubted she had made it back down the mountain yet but you never know. Once he was finished, he padded over to Killjoy and Hondo. He slid underneath the injured male, taking the brunt of the weight onto hiss own back. An answering howl, although faint, came back telling him she was on his way. Another howl reached his ears as well, showing that the alpha was accompanying her. "I'm ready when you are Killjoy. We'll have company back at your camp. I'll scout for Shalah once we're back." Shadow said with a huff before starting forward.

River turned, taking up a steady pace in the front, leading the patrol down the path that she had come from. Every so often, she would grab a stick to move out of the way or start to move a log.
Once the injured female was on his back, Night started a slow pace behind Shadow as they moved.
Shadow listened to Killjoy's words before huffing, "The first winter is always the worst. The increased predators are not helping any pack right now." His eyes scanned the trees as he frowned, he wasn't too keen with Alha coming up to these parts of the mountain. Hopefully, she had a patrol with her. Hopefully.

Solaris || 5 Years || Male || Raven Pack Hunter || M: Shiva

The winter warrior flicks his ear at the she-wolf’s greeting, his eyes watching closely as she starts her trek towards their prize catch. He takes a few seconds to do the same, each step being much slower than hers but still covering the same if not more ground. He stalks his way to the opposite side of the moose from her – near the antlers which were not just a step or so away. His blazing orbs scanned their large expanse, looking over the various nicks and cracks they already possessed. Yes, they would make for a preferable method of carrying, however heavy they may be.

A howl from Shiva has him glancing her way, tired eyes burning brightly in the morning sun. A call for some aid. Simple enough though the male would have preferred that the two performed this task on their own. The burn their muscles were bound to experience would be worth the effort after all. Then again, they were down a hunter after the previous night…

Once the howl died to a still, the sun-still male goes to grasp the behemoth’s antlers only to find the smaller of the two already holding the heavy accessory. A displeased growl rumbles from his throat at the huntress’ choice as she makes her case though he makes no move to take over her position. She was right to an extent. Sleep had not been kind to him the night before, and carrying such weight would be rather draining on his already depleted energy. It would be best if he were to wait his turn.

Padding around he walks towards the back, grasping some of the loose hide towards the cervidae’s rump and lifting it as best he could. Once it was securely between his teeth he looked back towards the huntress and waited for her to begin the walk back to camp.

Xola || 6 || Female || Wolf || Eastern Medic || M: River, Night, Hondo, Shadow, Killjoy, Aoife (Ind)

Xola canters after the younger female, her shorter stride efficient enough to keep pace but leaving her a tail lengths behind. Her heart pounded in her chest as she moved, both in exertion and in trepidation. Her mind raced with spiraling thoughts, each one pondering the scene she would soon lay eyes upon and the proceeding treatment for each individual. What would the scene be like upon their arrival? What losses did they experience, what wounds sustained? Would they all be possible to save, or would it be a race against the clock for many? She took little notice of Shadow or Night as they joined them, only managing to adjust her speed slightly at the sound of quickened paw-steps.

Their hastened pace took them to the border in good time, leaving her with the sight of a wounded Hondo and Veracious with Killjoy doing his best to care for them. Without slowing in her strides she pushes past the alpha and soon-to-be alpha to assess the more wounded of the two. Leaders or no, now was not a time for pleasantries. She had a job to do.

A familiar brindle pelt held her gaze as she approached, a she-wolf speaking to him from nearby. A much less wounded one too. Her snout pressed close to a close-up inspection, hovering just above his body to avoid any pain. The amount of wounds he had sustained were of great concern to her. Blood spewed from the gashes in a slow but steady stream, staining the snow red. His hind legs seemed to be in the worst of shape, causing obvious pain any time he attempted to move them. He would not be walking for some time.

Retracting her snout with a soft breath she meets his eyes with a gentle and concerned face. “Please don’t make this a habit,” the medic utters in a hushed voice.

“You are going to hate me for good reason Xola…”

A singular ear flicks towards Killjoy as he addresses her, her eyes shifting back but her head not turning. His request for such a beginning statement was a rather reasonable one. Go back and prepare her den for their treatment.

“Why would I hate you for that,” the charcoal female turns to face him, “I couldn’t agree more.”

Moving to walk past and start her trek back she pauses momentarily and looks into his eyes, “Make sure you support his back. He is not to experience any strain on the way back, lest you wish to damage him more. The other will just need someone to lean on, it would appear.”

Trotting past him, Xola moves to exit the scene but is halted by yet another speaker. River, tasked with following her back, was apologizing for dragging her all the way out here just to be sent back. Though it seemed to hold a playful tone, she couldn’t help but take it seriously.

“It is alright, my dear. I’d rather you have done that then keep me in the dark on the whole situation. Besides, it never hurts to get a short assessment on everyone before I have to treat them.”

At the lightly colored hunter’s request, she nods her head. “Of course, whatever prevents their wounds from worsening.”

Taking the front with River she readily sets out back towards the camp. She stays a step or two behind the female, allowing her to lead the way. She worked with the younger wolf to clear the route as much as possible, grabbing sticks on her side of the natural path and tossing them or adding her own weight into the effort of moving a log. Once in a while she would look back towards the more injured of the two to ensure that he was not encountering any emergency on the trek back. None thus far. Hopefully that would remain the case.

Hondo l Male l Beta l Eastern l M: Rescue Group
.
Hondo felt himself rise liftlessly, as Killjoy easily pulled him to his feet. His back legs lay useless behind him, and Shadow was approaching his other side, and readying himself. A pang of embarrassment coursed through him. What strong of a Beta he looked like always ending up injured. He took a glance over at Killjoy, his Alpha, and saw a kind of disappointed face etched on his brown and black face. Whether that disappointment was for himself of for Hondo, he coulnt be sure, but for the moment, Hondo took it as the latter. He then glanced towards Veracious, who seemed to be waiting to see if he was alright before proceeding. The bushes opposite of him had started to move, and then before he knew it Xola and River were making their way towards him. Xola made her way straight to him and seemed to check his mangled body for any serious injury before turning to face him, and muttered so that only he could hear. A smirk formed on his face and whispered so only she could hear, "I'll try." And then she had turned away to go over to Veracious. And the smirk on his face disappeared.
She motioned for them all to begin moving and with that the two Alpha's and the Beta began to slowly move in the direction of Eastern's Camp. He tried his best to stay in the strides of Shadow and Night, but that proved more difficult then he thought. Whenever he would fall behind he would try to increase his pace to not become a nuisance to bith of the leaders next to him. But as soon as he would do that, a shot of pain would shoot down his spine. His shoulders protested at every movement, but Hondo tried to ignore, the pain starting to build. About every five hundred feet or so, they would take a break to rest or readjust. And in Hondo's opinion they were making good progress, but they still had a long way to go.

Aoife || 4 Years || Female || Eastern Scout || M: Night, Veracious (dir), Killjoy, River, Shadow, Hondo & Xola
...
Dipping her head to her alpha once more as he gave out orders, pausing briefly as she picked up how his tone softened when addressing River. Her ear flicked back as she narrowed her gaze, slowly putting together what was happening there. Chuckling to herself she felt a bit bad she'd treated the hunter as an equal when she should've shown her more respect, given her new connection with Killjoy.
Aoife caught the movement of the dark-furred alpha that had been mentioned to help her move the injured female, shifting she followed him with her tail low. Hesitating for a moment as he addressed her, she hadn't gotten much of a chance to interact with the male but he seemed gentler than what she'd guessed. "I can do that" she answered stepping closer, cautiously she positioned herself to move Veracious. "I apologize if this hurts" she spoke softly with an apologetic look towards the female before carefully using her snout and paws to gently shift the hunter onto the male's back.
Shifting in place she ducked under the rest of the female's body that wasn't supported by Night, giving him a nod that she was ready she rose with him. Taking a moment she gritted her teeth trying to carefully adjust to make it easier on both her and the injured wolf on her back. Once satisfied she eyed the rest of the group, glancing at the alpha beside her she was grateful for his offer to take most of the weight. Once the group began to move along she fell in step with Night, picking her steps carefully as they made their way along the path. She'd flick her ear at certain points in warning to watch his step, Aoife remembered certain areas of this path where the ground got rough and made a note to warn the dark male when they reached those areas. Even if he didn't need it she felt better than just assuming he knew the path.

Shalah had just left the elder and was about to cross the river when she heard Shadow's howl. Uh oh, there was trouble in Eastern Pack territory. Trouble that required an additional medic. Shalah lifted her head to return the howl before starting towards the border, staying close to the river. She didn't know too much of the land on that side but she could bet it was on the other side of the waterfall at least. Another howl came, close by yet up ahead, signaling her sister. Must be out on patrol. She would catch up with them in a moment.
~
Alha lifted her head, hearing Shadow's howl before hearing her sister return it. She lifted her own head to signal she was also coming. Unknown pack territory, friendly or not, was no place for her sister to be. Alha knew Shadow would protect them but what if they ran into trouble before reaching him? A group had better chances than a lone. "Change of plans. You two are coming with me as a guard for Shalah. Please note that while the wolves are currently allies and are not threat to us, that some might still be hostile towards us." Alha said, turning to address Kenai and Freya. "Stay wary and alert, but also stay close. I don't know what kind of predators could be in the territory as well."

By the time she was finished giving out the instructions, Shalah had made her way to them. The female came over to touch noses with Alha before pointing towards the direction of the waterfall. "Our journey will start on the other side of the waterfall and up the small cliff. From there, I believe we head north east. We can signal Shadow once we begin into the territory." Shalah said, nodding towards the mountains. Lovely. This would be interesting. Alha frowned slightly before nodding to Freya and Kenai, "Alright, let's go. And watch your paws, there are still traps galore." She turned, settling into a fast trot with Shalah matching her stride. Every so often, Shalah would veer off and come back with some herbs tucked safely in her jaws.
