Kelly
After she instructed her fellow hunters, she padded back over to where she was sleeping. Hunger tore at her belly and she realized that the pups must be starving too- the pack was going to get a move on so they couldn’t stop and hunt. A rabbit or squirrel should do just fine as a snack. She padded over to the edge of the clearing and took a big whiff. Musty, stale, and fresh and sweet scents engulfed her nose as she sorted them out. A bee’s nest was nearby, as well as a wildflower field. A fox had moved on and was long gone. Deer were grazing somewhere behind her, the scent mingled with the fellow wolves that were hunting, and she beamed with pride. If they take down a deer that should feed the pack…. She caught the scent of a plump rabbit and began padding over to it, the wings catching her wings and the sun hitting them, sparkling. As she continued after the rabbit, it was clear something was… wrong? She crouched between two honeysuckle bushes, the sweet scent of the plump rabbit overpowering, but with the coppery scent of blood. The rabbit was dead. She took another big sniff, hoping that it wasn’t a coyote or mountain lion, but she picked up nothing. Kelly slowly and cautiously approached the rabbit, looking for a tripwire or trap that the humans could have set up. Again, nothing. Kelly leaned down to snatch the rabbit by its scruff, but she dropped it when she heard a rustle in the bushes. She peered into the bushes, her muscles tight and her wings radiating red-orange with hues of orange and hints of teal, snapped towards her side. She felt exposed and vulnerable with her wings displaying her feelings so openly. A flash of violet appeared momentarily. That wolf is back! She thought with a flash of terror, her wings now shades of teal and blue. The crazy one! She’s going to kill me! Mustering all her courage she said:
”Stop messing with me or it will be the last thing you do.” It came out commanding and intenading, Kelly was momentarily pleased, but the feeling slipped away when the she-wolf emerged from the bushes. She still had a couple of scratches that were covered up with dry blood, but it seemed the rest had healed very quickly. Instead of attacking her or saying something, she let out a yelp of fear, her violet eyes wide, her ears down while her wings were splayed out, her tail between her legs in a submissive stance. Kelly spun around, a large male wolf that was red and brown, leaped at her, and knocked her out.
Hazel
After Erza properly knocked the colorful she-wolf out, she smiled, wagging her tail a bit. Perfect! I knew I recognized her scent, I smelled it on the pup, so she must know Sky! Hazel padded over to the she-wolf and sniffed her, confirming the scent. The wind picked up her wings, now a dull black, and splayed them out feebly, as if they were demanding she was still awake. Erza bounded over to her, sniffing her.
“Are you OK? Did that wolf hurt you? You looked so scared!” He said, concerned, looking for any new open wounds.
“I’m fine! Now, all I need you to do is take that wolf with me! She can help me!” Hazel said excitedly,”There is a place back over where we were at where the willows touch the ground. Bring her there and do NOT let any strange wolves over there.” Hazel finished. Erza’s eyes suddenly became dark.
“If you staged that I swear-” He couldn’t finish, as Hazel already bounded away, trying to figure out how to implant the message that she held one of their wolves hostage, and she would only give her back if they gave her Sky. That she-wolf was an important part of the pack- she held great dominance. Now how to get the message across…
