Ebony | F | Other Pack Dog | M: Kai "Humans will get rid of anything the moment it's no longer useful to them," Ebony said, a slight growl to her voice. She spoke from experience: the way her old owners had left her and their home behind, without any reason, without saying goodbye. She was a little surprised by Kai's offer. "I'll take it. Thanks." The bed looked surprisingly comfortable, considering it had been left in a garbage heap. It was a tad dirty, but it was certainly far better than sleeping on the ground. She noticed Kai was making more of an effort than some of the others to be nice to her, and she wasn't exactly sure why.
Ebony glanced of the other stuff, but couldn't find much she wanted. She wrinkled her nose at the old snake skin. I better not wake up with a snake crawling over me! She gave the items another glance, and thought about taking the old bone. "I guess I'll see if anyone else wants the rest of this stuff." She figured that the way things usually worked in packs was that higher ranking dogs got things first. But maybe that wasn't true, given that Kai had offered her the bed.
Scrap | F | Stray Cat | M: Pack (indirect) Scrap returned to her cardboard box. After patrolling her territory's borders, she decided to groom herself. She could smell the stench of dog on her fur. She covered her pelt in rough licks. Then, she licked a paw and drew it across her ears and face. She had a hard time reaching the base of her tail and the back of her hind legs, so after a time she just gave up. Back in the day she'd had companions and they'd help groom each other, but now she was all alone. She sniffed. Young cats don't have values anymore. I remember when they treated elders with respect. Well, she could manage fine without help. She'd lasted this long, hadn't she? She'd survived with enemy cats, dogs, humans, even raccoons surrounding her. This pack wouldn't mean a thing.
