Fenrys - Beta Male - Mention(s): Blu (ind: Timber, Echo, Nightingale) ~ Fenrys shook his head. "Honestly, who knows what Matzaka wants to do these days. He might want to keep us here for a week. Or he might want us to leave now. Really, I have no idea anymore." He paused, well aware that they were talking treason, but continued regardless. "Timber and Echo... I'm afraid for if we accidentally go somewhere or do something and we lose them somehow. Neither of them should be going. Nightingale and I can look after ourselves, but the two younglings..." he trailed off. "If something happens to me, I'm not sure how they'd manage going back without my protection." Matzaka would, Fenrys knew, show no mercy - even to the juveniles. "But you already know I'll protect them with my life if need be." Fenrys didn't need to add the second bit - that may not be enough. "If Echo's free now, I can do something with her now, if she isn't too upset. This is a dangerous mission - " without the twist that they'd be going there to recruit other wolves to their cause, " - and while I'm hoping Timber and Echo stay far behind where need be... in the event that they need to do something without Nightingale or I, I'd prefer they were all ready."

I guess Leafs tail wasn't stepped on Storm-F-Hunter-M: Nikolai, open Storm padded into the line of bushes. "Just a little more. I know its far but no one else knows about it." She stepped out and revealed a small stream in front of her. "We can hunt on the way back so no one gets suspicious." She sat on a flat rock near the edge of the stream. "I cant handle this anymore. Sending away a fourth of our pack for something that might exist is crazy. And its only a mater of time before one of us is chosen."

Nikolai - M - Hunter - Mention(s): Storm (ind: / ) ~ Nikolai sighed. "Storm... you know we can't take sides in this spat in our pack. Who knows what will come out of this? Maybe it'll work. Maybe it won't." Nikolai shrugged - while he most definitely did care, his neutrality had to be kept. "Really... either way, whatever happens, we can deal with it together." While Nikolai was unwilling to take a side - and both slightly hated him for it - he was philosophical that "whatever happened, happened". He crouched next to Storm, slightly below her on the ground next to the stream. It felt a bit damp, but then, streams were wet. "Whatever you decide, though... if you can't handle it, I'll stand with you on that." While Nikolai enjoyed his neutrality... if Storm decided to go one way, Nikolai would go with her.

Blu-Male-Fighter-Mentions: Fenrys - Blu nodded, knowing all too well the worries of Fenrys. After all, Blu would feel the same if he was in Fenrys’ paws. Going into the wicked beyond, to go spy on a rival pack, in unknown territory. It wasn’t a place for 2 apprentices. But alpha’s word was law. Plus Echo was only a couple moons away from turning 3, so it’s hardly like she’s a pup anymore. But she doesn’t have the same experience that Fenrys and Night do. “As much as I would like to offer you some peace of mind, Echo isn’t the type of wolf to leave her own behind. I can offer you something though. She can take care of herself. She's been through a lot and has made it this far. She's a survivor." He said, with a deep sigh. He wished Echo would be smart. Stay back if things get too dangerous. But he knew her too well. - “I can’t tell you her past, but I can tell you one thing. Something happened and she accepted her death a long time ago. She doesn’t know fear. Except for one thing…” He trailed off as his thoughts moved to Echo's father. Anda sadistical, egomaniac, with a yearn for power. Much like their own Matzaka. But her father, was a whole different level. The things he put his own god damn daughter through. His lips began to curl back at the thought before he caught himself. "She can keep her cool under heavy amounts of pressure sue to her lack of fear, so she'll be a good wolf to have watching your back in a fight." Attack wise, Echo was not that great in a fight. Especially against a bigger opponent. But she is quick and extremely nimble. A large wolf would have extreme trouble catching her in their grip. - “I’m sure she’s free. Unless Nyx has her doing something. Jeraboa looked busy with Stripe this morning so I can only assume she’s free. If you’d like you can head back to camp. I can finish this patrol by myself. Lord knows I won’t encounter much.” Blu was one of the best fighters in the Pack and could hold his own against more than one wolf. So he wasn’t particularly worried about having another wolf while he did his rounds. He is a VERY large wolf, bigger than most, and one would be pretty stupid to try to handle him on their own. Plus there hasn’t been a pack or wolf sighting for who knows how long. All the other packs who were even near them moved territories because of their shear size. And their alpha was a power hungry egomaniac. Edited at October 29, 2024 09:25 AM by Delver

Timber - Male - Apprentice - Mentions: Night - Timber nodded, stepping aside. "Sure." He said, lifting his nose to the air. "Want to start again? The wind might be picking up soon." Timber fluffed his fur up. The talk of cold made him cold, always. It was something he had also hated, besides his stupid ear.

Fenrys - Beta Male - Mention(s): Blu ~ Fenrys nodded, a bit pensievely. "It may eventually come to it that she might need to take care of herself for a bit. I don't know." He paused, then continued, a bit more thoughtfully now. "Perhaps in the short time I have, I can probably capitalize on her agility and using that to her advantage. Usually I wouldn't, because it takes a lot of courage to keep dancing around a wolf a lot bigger than you and getting in the occasional hit. But from what you're telling me about Echo..." he trailed off, thinking about it for a second before shaking it off. "I'll admit, you could honestly just not do the patrol. It's not like Matzaka will notice if we come back a bit early... all he cares about is when he goes out. And it's not like that there'll be anyone out here looking to intrude." We chased them all out or killed them, under orders from Matzaka. "We can just go back to camp together if you'd like? You should probably be the one to tell Echo. God knows how the younger ones are feeling about being sent out on this silly mission." He shook his head yet again in a condemnation of the order. "What I don't want, however," he tacked on. "I don't want Echo to accept that she's going to die if we come to a fight and we're outnumbered. I want her to be able to fight for her life if needed. If not for her own, then for ours." He hesitated for a second. "And under my watch, she isn't dying anytime soon."

Alari | F | Fighter | M: Indirectly Fenyrs, Blu The she wolf had slept in from her exhaustion of her restless nights. The pack had tension. She had tension. With what.. The tension that caused her agitated and restless was the growing ego of the alpha male. A male soaked with greed and dominance that most keep their mouth shut about even herself. Though she held her tongue at all times, not for respect but the sake of her own survival. A word from her that could spark a rebellion would ultimately make her dead. Though it would seem a cowardly act for her to let these schemes be played. But all it takes is a chain of events to set a flame of an uprising. She knew the choosing of the four will be today or atleast in the very near future. Alari wrinkled her nose in disgust at the thought. The unnecessary need for extra territory and that he needed four wolves to do it at his bidding. And most likely two of them would be his own blood, so the alpha could thrive of the power of his own bloodline. Alari shook her head and left the camp without making conversation to anyone. She wasn’t jealous that she most likely would not be chosen. Actually it made things easier, the alphas would be more flustered of their own blood taking care of business and facing failure. Their minds would be conflicted and all she needed was to find a spark. Alari was cautious around her surroundings. Honestly she wanted away from the camp from the rather annoying apprentices. She found herself behind the downwind that her scent would not be found. Her eyes picked up on Fenyrs and Blu having a rather interesting conversation. She listened closely intently and tried not to give herself away. She knew to a point that she wasn’t the only one with Matzaka, but she did not know exactly who nor why. Something about sending young wolves with little to no experience out on their own is a death mission. She had no idea what they were saying. Her mind was scrambling trying to solve the puzzle of their conversation whether they were against the alpha or not. She turned her back around them and her muscles twitched. The wind shifted as now her scent would betray her, but she paid little mind to it. Her scars shown through her dense fur from the winds harsh gust into her face of direction.

Yurvi - Female - Heir - Mentions: Pack (Ind) - The pack had died down and moved away enough where Yurvi felt comfortable to move around a bit. The day's announcements were troubling, and Yurvi was worried for her sister and comrades. They would be going into uncharted territory. She shook her head, freeing the thoughts. They would be fine. Fenrys was.... Fenrys, Timber was fast and thoughtful, Echo was a healer, and Night was brave and daring. A good group. Standing up, she walked over to a more sunny spot, laying down to survey the camp. Mostly everyone was either in their den or outside, leaving Yurvi alone with her thoughts. The sun was by now slowly dipping, and night would fall within a few hours. Yurvi laid her head on her paws, sighing. Only four more days until the moon was full, and then the group would leave. She curled up tighter, listening to the leaves rustle.

Blu-Male-Fighter-Mentions: Fenrys, Alari(IND) - Blu nodded in agreement. “It does take a lot of courage to do something like that. And she has vast amounts of it.” He smiled proudly. He was incredibly impressed by Echo. Going through the things she’s gone through and still keeping her head up, never looking back. Keeping her eyes ahead of her. He couldn’t be more proud. She was a fighter and survivor through and through. Never backing down and always pushing forward. Even though he could see the pain hidden in her in her blue sapphire eyes. - He stopped in his tracks, turning to speak to Fenrys before his ears perked up suddenly. His head snapped behind them and watched the wooded forest that had just tracked through, listening. Waiting…. But nothing more happened. What had just grabbed his attention? He hadn’t seen or heard anything. Or so he had thought. Strange… He looked back to Fenrys. “Sorry, I thought I heard something. But you are right. I may as well just go back with you. Normally I like doing my patrols for peace and quiet. But there’s more important matters to attend to.” He turned and started his way back towards the camp. “And you are quite correct. I don’t know how happy she’s gonna be about being trained under a wolf she doesn’t particularly know. But she knows she can trust you, so it should be ok. But I’m sure she’s excited. She loves adventures.” - Blu dipped his head apologetically to Fenrys. “I will talk to her more about it before you guys leave.Or better yet, maybe you do it in your training. If she gets reckless, don’t be scared to correct her. She can get reckless at times. You could explain to her that being reckless can get you guys injured or worse.” Blu let out a deep exhale. God this was stressful. So much to prepare for the mission, but they didn’t even have a proper time frame on when they were gonna be leaving. Damn that alpha wolf. It’s probably all on purpose, to keep them guessing. Keep them on their toes. He had a feeling that Matzaka knew that Blu was against him, due to his time around Fenrys. “Just know that when you guys do leave, me and Nyx hold it down here. If the alpha tries to do something… I might just have to challenge the alpha openly…”

Fenrys - Beta Male - Mention(s): Blu, (ind: / ) ~ Fenrys shook his head. "Don't openly challenge Matzaka, Blu." He hesitated, then corrected himself. "Not until we come back with the other pack - and trust me, we will. Smile, nod your head, do everything he asks to the bare minimum, take everything that he deserves, but do not challenge him for now. We need you here when we come back with reinforcements. And unlike everyone else, he's not afraid to fight you. I understand, it'd be rather fair, but... don't risk it. We've only got a small potion of the pack definitely with us. We can't lose anything more." "And as for Echo... I'll do my best to drill in the lesson that recklessness is bad. Honestly depends on how stubborn she is against learning. I'll do my best now, and on the way." Fenrys knew stubbornness - he himself used to be like that at Echo's age. "She just needs to trust that the training I give her is the right thing to do." Fenrys looked at the rapidly approaching camp. "Maybe it'd be best if you go and tell Echo first. I don't want to randomly pounce on her and tell her to come with me... she doesn't know me nearly as much as you and Nyx do." (Oof a bit short-)
