So I was about to fall asleep at my desk, as one does over spring break, and a thought-scenario woke me up. I am going to post it here lest the plot bunny chew through my brain.

It presents its chosen mate with an enemy, either alive or dead depending on the pursued mate's perceived preferences. Observe now, how it seeks acceptance for its suit with the tribute. If rejected, this specimen will likely try again in a more extravagant display in order to prove its suitability and ability to protect. If accepted, the propositioned mate will never be without the suitor for the rest of their natural lives. In the event of a competitor, this Swordcat will attempt to brutally murder the other prospects. It will not surrender, and the fight would continue until one party died. Sadly, it is often quite common for both challengers to kill each other, which is one of the main reasons why this particular species is so endangered today. Don't be afraid to take pictures, folks, as this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see these majestic creatures with your own eyes!

Plus, complete sidenote, I've never made an incorrect punching fist, at least as far as I can remember. You know, where your thumb is tucked inside the other four fingers. I didn't know it was an actual thing until I was 16. Apparently it's supposed to be more natural for people? I dunno, I'm weird.
