As for selling art, WolfPlay's art community has a huge range in art prices. So it's quite hard to determine an average for prices! It often depends on things like overall polish/quality, what species you draw, and if it's digital or traditional.
From what I've seen, digital canine art tends to sell the best on Wolfplay, but even that has a huge range!
On average, I'd say most art tends to be over a few hundred mushrooms, and with a few artists on the site having art sell for many apples [Even up to 60+ apples!]
YCH [your character here] or commission auctions tend to sell for the most, with bids usually going over a few apples, but once again it really depends on the art itself!
When it comes to getting a good price range for your art, hosting polls with several art examples can certainly help get a feel for prices! Or auctioning off YCHs to get an overall look at how much people are willing to pay.
I don't sell art actively on WolfPlay right now, and usually do so through auctions, but I'd say my auctions usually go for around 50-80 apples, and some examples of my art can be found here! :0 [most recent on the later pages]
