Personality
Lane feels the need to be likable. This has caused him to base his entire personality around it, basically becoming someone other than himself. This persona he puts on is the average class clown, dumb and sarcastic. After going to school it has become much worse than before. Lane is outgoing and optimistic, a “golden retriever boy” to put terms simply. He masks to make other people feel better and like him.
Lane’s a free spirit, embracing whatever comes his way. Some may say it's irrational to be such a way but he makes it work. No job, and he has horrible planning skills. He has this air of optimistic naivety about him. A disorganized machine, he knows where everything is(if he left it there). He tries to make people feel better, and brush off comments about himself with poorly timed jokes(or just bad jokes in general). Lane tries to always be positive and optimistic but thoughts always are different. This boy is a pessimist, glass half empty kind of guy on the inside. On bad days, usually during a lecture, this side of him shows more than he would like.
Lane does consider himself to be quite kind, mainly towards animals, but the thought is still there. Though, he would much rather appear to be the cool sarcastic guy.
Lane is very friendly, he likes meeting new people, and making new friends. He enjoys the company but would still much rather be spending time with his cats back home. His social battery doesn't last long, but once it's fully charged he can become quite the party animal. Lane enjoys a good time.
If someone needs someone to talk to he is more than willing. This boy loves to talk, and if he could he would just talk forever. This has led to some awkward situations in the past, all of them mainly being his fault because he didn’t know when to shut up.
Appearance
Lane would consider himself to be quite homely. He has thick honey blonde hair that lays like a curly mop on his head. It can sometimes be mistaken for dirty blonde hair. He doesn’t know how to style his hair, and used to brush out the curls, leaving him with a frizzy mess. His complexion is clear, beside the obvious eye bags, and lack of facial hair. He has light skin, sometimes considered pale. His eyes are a dark brown, and in certain lighting golden flecks can be seen. His face appears longer than normal, though it's just because of his thin frame. Lane is fairly tall, and stands at 6’3”, which just makes him look thinner than he actually is. By no means is Lane a skeleton, he is quite lean and relatively fit although he dislikes anything to do with exercise or sports.
Lane has a total of three tattoos, most of them are patch work, and have silly meanings. The first tattoo is located on his middle finger, just between the middle and index finger, and it is a petite smiley face. His second tattoo is located on his arm just by his shoulder and is a small cat footprint. The footprint is of his cat which had passed away just before college. The third and final tattoo is located on his thigh, just above his knee, and it is a raccoon peeking out of a garbage can with the lid on its head.
Lane’s can usually be seen wearing plain tees in various colors, sweatpants, and some old converse shoes. He adores his tri-colored hoodie, with each color split vertically; pastel maroon, black, and white. His outfits are usually plain, and have no particular function other than being comfortable.

Hidden talents
Lane wouldn’t say he had any hidden talents. He’s a pretty open book, but he has one trick up his sleeve that he doesn't share very often; he is hypermobile and can bend certain joints in awkward ways.
Fears
+ Lane truly fears bugs, specifically the flying type.
+ He also hates vomit, an irrational fear of his that he struggles with.
+ He fears rejection, and avoids situations which will allow for a possibility of rejection.
Strengths
+ Lane would consider one of his strengths to be perseverance, he works hard and does his best not to give up.
+ Lane also considers himself to be quite charismatic.
+ Lane is a realist at heart, and takes pride in that.

Lane tapped the tip of his pen absentmindedly against his paper as the professor droned on about some animal. His attention was taken from him as the familiar picture of Charles Darwin was flashed on the projector in front of him. He studied the images of the finches. Evolution, how thrilling. He broke eye contact and went back to daydreaming. He had heard about Darwin and his finches multiple times already, and could practically recite every thing about that man. Lane peeked over at the projector once more, and the professor was going on about how animals made it onto islands, and how each differentiated each other. A soft yawn escaped his lips, and he doodled pictures of cats onto his empty notebook. Soon the professor dismissed the class. For an introductory class it was filled with good stuff. Basic stuff, but still good. Lane concluded that he would like this class.
Lane grabbed all his things and placed them carelessly into his bag. Off to another class, but first some brunch. Lane swung his bag around his shoulder and stuffed his hands into his hoodie pockets. The weather wasn't too hot for a hoodie, besides he could say it was a fashion statement. Was the cafe open today? He shrugged to himself and walked along the campus sidewalk towards the cafe anyways. He ordered his usual drink and a bagel. He walked around, bagel in mouth, bag and drink in hand. A campus map was pulled up onto his phone, precariously balanced between a few fingers which were sharing space for his drink.
An alarm rang off of his phone, it was an alarm he had set to remind himself of his next class. A curse spilled out of his mouth as his hot drink trickled down his hand, practically sizzling its way onto the concrete. Lane had completely forgotten about his next class, to be honest he even forgot what the next class was. Was it his minor in History? He sighed and wiped off the remains of his drink before tossing the cup into a nearby bin. If he was going to be late anyway, he better make it worth his time. Lane ate his bagel and walked around campus to familiarize himself with the building layout.
It wasn’t long before he was outside the history building. Lane could care less about history, he only chose it because he thought it complemented his major nicely. Lane went to open the class door and found it was locked. How great. Lane placed his bag down and chose to loiter outside instead. The echo of the large room was enough for him to hear the majority of the lecture. Before the lecture was over however, he passed out with a quarter of a bagel still left in his hand.
