Aisling Frodison
Appearance
Aisling is not drop dead gorgeous, but she is quite pretty. She stands at 5'11 and has an athletic build. Her upper body is more triangular in shape, hosting broad shoulders and a smaller waist. Her frame is wiry and muscled, not very curvy, and made for strength and endurance. Aisling's slim figure is not one to be mistaken as weak, as she packs a hefty, well-practiced punch and is fully capable of holding her own. It also helps to have a pocket knife on her person at all times, but don't tell the school that.
This young woman has very clear Norwegian bloodlines. Her thick, auburn hair is naturally wavy with soft curls, but she hates having to deal with that texture and much prefers to straighten it. It reaches the bottoms of her shoulder blades when left natural and extends an extra inch or two after being attacked with a flat iron. Naturally somewhat-pale skin tans nicely into a golden-brown that nearly blends into her hair, though she almost always sports a farmer's tan, sock tan, and shorts tan consecutively. True to the stereotype of redheaded individuals, Aisling has freckling across her face and shoulders. It is not heavy, but it is noticeable when looking at her up close.
Intelligent brown eyes are set beneath straight eyebrows and rimmed by thick, dark eyelashes. She has a smaller-than-average nose and slightly full, straight lips. Her face is, overall, very refined and defined with slighly prominent cheekbones and a prominent jawline.
Aisling is a tomboy and she acts like it. Her makeup is minimal, usually limited to mascara. She's rarely seen out of jeans and t-shirts; her shoes are either work boots or tennis shoes. It takes incredible incentives to get her to wear dresses, or even skirts, but when she actually tries to look like a princess, she can pull it off quite well. She walks confidently and stands to her full height. Her strides are long and languid while still maintaining a certain regality to them. Aisling is certainly quite intimidating.
Personality
Ever since she was a young girl, she has had a gifted mind. Logic puzzles and strategy games interested her more than others her age, and when she got bored of those, she made her own real-life scenarios: human chess, hunting games, and thinking up riddles were things she would often subject those around her to. She was, and still is, a very intelligent and aware person. Of course, her social skills and the readings of cues developed more after her phase of demanding people play with her, but they are there now, and have remained strong.
Competition has always been a driving factor for her. Not to be the best, per se, but to at least give the best a run for their money. The thrill of the game, the risks, the glory -- she lives for it. She will not always accept a challenge. If she knows there is no chance of avoiding utter demolition, she will decline. Likewise, if the other person faces a complete butt-whupping, she will decline. If it is deemed a waste of time, she will decline. Is it a baking competition? She will decline.
Aisling is more into the adventurous sides of things. If something promises to push her to her limits, she'll give it a go. She wants to grow, to learn, to flourish. To progress in... well, life in general. She is not so adventurous as to put herself or those around her in blatant danger, however, and she is quite good about making rational, thought-out decisions.
She's a calm and collected young woman. Her words are reasonable and have been mulled over in her mind before being spoken out loud. Aisling knows how to stick her words where they'll hurt, but she also knows how to hold them back. However she uses her words and actions, they always have a sort of fluidity to them. Always smooth, flowing.
She is a more antisocial person, preferring to be alone -- whether or not she is "with" a crowd, she is always separated somehow. Aisling is quieter, more stoic or sober in appearance, just reserved in general. Her firm grasp on her words, her strengths, and her stature all give her a more intimidating cast. She is not one to mess with. Her feelings just can't be hurt -- but she can get annoyed.
The darker side of her is one that doesn't show itself often. She is great at manipulating others. She does not use this gift often, though it is no secret that she eloquently flips and twists phrases to meet her needs. It comes in handy every once in a while. She is normally aloof, but Aisling can become downright cold if someone is on her naughty list. Morbid curiosity is also a quirk of hers: dead things are fascinating, and she wants to pry them apart to figure out how they work. She's not at all squeamish. Aisling also gets highly defensive about her job and course of study, especially seeing how it is a little more unusual. She is still a horse-riding, butt-kicking, punch-throwing sonofagun, though.
