"They are probably gonna take us in soon. They were most likely waiting this long to let us get our energy out so we won't be a hassle to get into our territory." I said with a laugh standing up "They will probably hose us down with water to get all the mud off before we go inside though," I said with a chuckle. We walked to the door and as I suspected they held up a hose. I comforted Forest quickly and let them do me first so she knew it would be fine. They let me get a quick drink before letting her inspect it.

I nodded and got up like Nightmare. I then followed her to the big thing of some sort. I watched the water hit Nightmare and the mud fall. Soon she was done and the long snake like thing was held out to me. I slowly went up to it, sniffing it furriously. After a sniffed it i had a weird impulse to bite it. I slowly brung my head closer to the snake like thing. Then without warning i snaped the snake like thing into my mouth. It was not a pleastant taste so i spit it out. "Yuck! I hope what you drank was better than that!" I said turning to Nightmare.

I laughed, "The green thing is what directs the water so it doesn't go everywhere, it's not supposed to taste good!" I said laughing harder. after she got hosed down alpha led us through the halls, all the other humans stepped into rooms or ducked down hallways. Forest and I had our sides glued to one another again until we walked through the gate to our territory. I was my old one and didn't smell like my old pack anymore, I frowned at this and alpha noticed the drop in my mood.

"I miss them too, girl," he said putting his head to mine and closing his eyes. He scratched under my chin and then walked out.

"Welcome to my humble abode, it does smell like mine anymore because they completely clean it. Follow me the dens are on the complete opposite side of the pen!"

The pen was large, there were 12in the glass separating the hall from the enclosure. It didn't feel like an enclosure though, it was large since it was meant for a large pack. I wondered why they put us back since there were only two of us, then I remembered. They did say something about maternal instincts, were they going to give us lab eggs and let us raise them? My thoughts came to a stop as we were getting closer to the den. Weaving through all the trees we came across a cave, I remember sunbathing on top with the other females while the males wrestled in front. Then we all slept inside the cave when night fell in case it rained.

I rolled my eyes as Nightmare laughed at me. Soon though i was mud free and walking inside the big thing. The floor was slippery but i managed to ge through it. My side, as always was glued to Nightmares side. What seemed like forever was only a frw minutes before we were back outside in a huge cage like thing. I could tell Nightmare was sad when we entered but i didn't understand why. Apparently her alpha did because he took her head in his hands and talked to her. I just stood there though, waiting for them to be done. I then followed Nightmare to where the dens were. "Wow! The cave is so big!!' I said as we neared the huge cave. I then walked in and out of the cave, checking my surroundings. "This is an amazing home! Im starting to like it here! Im so glad i cam with you!" I then ran to Nightmare and nuzzled her, happy to have a good home and friend.

I nuzzled her back with a humming noise. "It's big because it's made for large packs, I was sad because this would have been our 3rd successful mission. Normally we all would run in cheering and excited, coming in from the back door." I said pointing my head at the gate, still visible from the den. I took a breath "I'm guessing they put us back in a large enclosure because they want us to raise young. I recall hearing them talk about seeing if we can raise young and possibly trying to pair me with a Military Raptor." I said putting my head against hers, closing my eyes.

I returned Nightmare's humming noise as i closed my eyes. I alsmost fell asleep for a moment but opened my eyes again to listen to Nightmare. "Im so sorry, but atleast you have me now?" I glanced at the gate but kept my main focus on Nightmare. I was very surprised though when she said the humans wanted us to raise eggs but i didnt move my head an inch. I then closed my eyes just like Nightmare had done and said, " Well i dont know how i feel about that yet but i know that everything will be alright if we are together." I then paused, drinking up the silence. After a couple minutes though i spoke again. "You wont forget about me or ignore me if you get a mate.....right?" I paused as i felt water fill my eyes. I came to far to be forgotten or ignored right? I asked myself as i awaited Nightmares answer.

"They won't urge you to raise eggs, it will most likely just be me they pressure the most. Mates here work differently than in the wild, he would have to be able to live here, with us. We have a pack bond and they aren't allowed to separate us, so you technically get a say in who I mate with, it won't just be me. So you kind of will get the chance to pick someone out yourself if you see someone you like," I said with a small laugh. "The way it works is that they will move us to a different enclosure, one that's smaller so we can't avoid them and they can't avoid us. Then they will enter through a two-sided gate, we get to smell them from one side while they smell us on the other. this allows us to talk but not be face-to-face. If it doesn't go well, then they will just back the male out and try a different one."

I nodded along as Nightmare explained how mates work here. I was a bit confused but understood why the humans did it they way they did. "I think you would be a good mother and mate," I said with a smile.

I was flattered by her compliment, I'm sure everything would start after we had settled. "It's best we start making our nests, I should probably build one made to hold eggs and me and not just me," I said looking at the large den. I started talking about random topics "You know I am one of the few raptors at the facility who got to meet their sire," I said "Most hatch in labs, this will be the first time, that I know of, that eggs would be hatched in an enclosure," I said gathering soft materials.

I nodded before going off a little ways to look for materials, though i could still hear Nightmare talk. "Really? Thats crazy....I understand why the do it i guess....but i feel bad for the eggs who hatch but dont have their mothers around. To me thats sounds awful and even scary....but then again the hatchlings dont knwo any better." I then headed to the large cave with my arms full. I looked around for a couple seconds before deciding to put my nest in the back left corner. I then got to work putting the materials together and making it into a nest shape, perfect for me. I on purpously made my nest a bit bigger than normal though. I never had this feeling before but i felt myself wanting some eggs, some childern, and a mate.
