Amos shrugged. "Why not go together, then you'll get to be in my marvelous presence longer, which is obviously ideal." They stated, smirking as he said it. "Though I must admit, I do love your presence as well, so I guess it's ideal for us both."

They watched Promachus for a reaction, he'd be quick to back off if the other showed any sign of discomfort. But, also, Promachus put up with a lot of shit, so they weren't too worried about it. Besides, they had to have a little fun when doing something they absolutely hated!

“Got the shit!”

Sol blinked and looked up, offering a faint smile as Beste entered the room. His brain took a bit longer to process the words than it should have due to the fact that Sol was disassociating a bit, but the presence of their friend was helpful. Grounding.

“Good pick, Sol. Do you have a favorite song from it? Oh, and… Should we turn it on while doing the cream and gauze or wait until after your hands are taken care of?”

Rosewater leaned into the scratches and trotted over to promptly lay down on Beste's lap, purring happily.

"Thanks. Uh, I think 'Almost There' is my favorite. I like 'Friends on the Other Side' too, but, it, um, kinda hits close to home." They smiled sheepishly. "Either works for me, it's whatever you prefer."

That being said, Sol's eyes dropped to Rosewater and they huffed. "I see who's the favorite here, I adopted you, you little traitor!" He exclaimed, reaching over to gently ruffle the cat's fur as she blinked up at them innocently.

“We should go ahead and get moving then. The faster we have the personal files, the sooner we can get this done.Your presence is appreciated as well, of course.”

Amos smiled happily at the words, but he felt worry rise in their chest. Promachus had taken longer to respond than normal. Was something wrong?

"Well, I should hope so!" They stated lightly, smirking playfully at his companion. "Hey, you feeling alright? You seem a little on edge." Amos was careful not to sound accusatory. They didn't want Promachus getting upset because he pressured him or anything. Or stepped out of line. If he wanted to talk he would, Amos just wanted to make sure he knew they would listen.

“‘Almost There’ is such a good one! Personally, ‘Friend on the Other Side’ is a bop but like- Total fail on the characters for not realizing the dude was a villain and all. Rosewater’s just trying to tell you that I should never leave. As for which to do… I say we go ahead and get the cream done so that we can better focus on the movie after.”

Sol's eyes softened and they smiled warmly, relaxing a little more.

"True, I think Dr. Facilier was pretty obvious about all the villain stuff, though I guess it might make sense how he tricked everyone. People get weird when presented with what they want, even if it's fake. And I agree with Rosewater." Of course, if Beste ever wanted to leave, Sol wouldn't stop her. That wouldn't be fair at all. For now, though, this was nice. "And, yeah, that sounds good."

They hesitated for a moment before looking up at his friend, eyes raw with emotion. "Thank you, Beste. For everything. Seriously. You're an amazing friend! An amazing person! I-I really don't know what I'd do without you." It was true, which is why the idea of Beste leaving hurt so much. It was terrifying, and yet, Sol wouldn't be surprised. They didn't deserve him at all.
