A'ight. I've been stuck on this for days. So now I'm crowdsourcing. lol

I have characters stuck in a cave-in and they need to dig back out.

They don't know how stable the surrounding rock is so they can't exactly blow it up. But they need to get out fast, so I don't know about doing a standard "take a shovel and shove it".

...ideas?

No limits on supplies. They're stuck in a rebel hideout and need to rescue the people on the other side.

Other than that, I guess you can think Pokemon. They have a creature that can manipulate earth. My original idea was to have the creature use its limbs to drill a hole, but... that seems kinda straightforward.

I just said they can't blow it up because they're not sure how stable the whole tunnel is.

Maybe they could start to dig a tunnel? But then it could becomes unstable around them? :o for tension and then the creature steps in to clear the remaining rock/debris?

how about when they are all decussing it looking at the wall the dumbest?-smallest? weakest? goes back a couple turns and finds a small water vent? source? they have to all crawl though but takes them to a cool new chapter add spiders evey one hates spiders and tunnels lol

I have writer's block so kinda dull on ideas at the moment, but for dramatic flair, if any have been injured or don't know that they're injured, the cave is bound to run out of oxygen, especially if they are panicking. If someone is panicking, you could have them pass out or begin to feel whoozy just for dramatic flair.

As for the getting out, you could have them beginning to freak out (just a suggestions as I don't know your characters/the compsure so this may not fit) and someone step up to calm them down as a sense of character development/ reassurance.

And maybe there's a seceret tunnel or something that they could attempt to crawl through, but the smallest among them have to do it alone because it's a very small crawl space, or one at a time and the last one gets stuck.

I don't know if any of this is good since I don't know the story/characters but I hope this was a bit of help and I wish you luck! ^^
