The damage is all around, as all of Ederia is being attacked with the Academy being a large focus for now. The Courtyard is in the center of the Academy, and the two rookeries in the mountains on either side of the Academy, which is where the new dragons would be located if they're not also out and about. Ironically the ones in the mountains are brother safer than the one in the top floor of the school and the one underground, but the Apprentice Dragons wouldn't be there. The first building was near by enough for the whole of the Academy to feel it, but the damage is all around from the barrage that followed. So it's safe to say that Buildings and Rookeries alike are taking damage now.

That still doesn't really answer my question. How close are the courtyard and the rookeries to the explosion? Are they in range of it where damage was done to the rookery?
