He could tell she wasn't I'm I'm mood to talk. And it seemed that she was partially annoyed at him. At that he didn't know why. At least she wasn't one of the females that snapped at you if you looked at them, or one of the females who snapped at you if you didn't look at them. She didn't seem like either, and he kinda didn't want to find out. If she didn't seem in the mood to talk, then maybe they could take this chance to gain some ground. They might even be able to find the other pack. "Lidiya, if you want." Always make it seem like they make the decisions, "we can go ahead and move, see if we can make some ground and possibly find the other pack, or we can stay here and rest for a bit. Either way it's your choice." With that he moved a little further away, and awaited her answer. Trying to look as unthreatening as possible. |

Lidiya was at least a bit grateful that Kodak wasn't all over her like some of the males were when her mother had gone into heat before giving birth to Dev, the one time she had actually observed someone that wanted to teach her about it and not just shun her. having said that, she had probably just emptied the largest bladder of her life a few hours ago. And another unintended side consequence of said heat meant she'd be urged to pee - and rather frequently, too. Which wasn't good, but it was the best that she could do. In fact, there really wasn't a way to conceal herself now like they had done yesterday - Lidiya remembered from somewhere that any female in heat could be detected by others from as far as three miles away. Which meant as soon as their pursuers were within three miles of her, they'd latch onto her scent and not stray from it. Crap. On the upside, Kodak didn't need to find her anymore - if he was within three miles of her (and doubtlessly throughout her heat he would be, despite her hopes that maybe Kodak could leave her alone) he'd know exactly where she was. Maybe that wasn't such a good thing. For no reason at all, she was annoyed, and just wanted to be left alone. "We can move off now. I... I'd actually like to find a stream to get some water, though, if you don't mind." Not really waiting for Kodak's approval, she smoothly uncoiled herself and trotted off. |

He thought about any nearby streams, and he turned to say something when he realized she wasn't there. He turned around and saw that she had already began making her way off. He rose to his paws and turned and made his way after her. Part of him trying to think what he had done wrong. He made his way to her side, yes her scent was strong, but at her side it was really strong. And when he said really strong it was. He took a deep breath and carried himself in front of her, and trotted a little faster to be a small ways in front of her. He didn't want to do something he regretted, and so he figured if he walked ahead her smell wouldn't be as strong, and maybe then he didn't have to deal as much with her. He was getting the general jist of what she acted like in heat, so maybe if he just stayed away, she would be somewhat happy. Somehow, after a small ways of walking, he found a pretty wide stream, it's current moving pretty rapidly. He could see small shimmers in the water, which looked to be like small fish swimming. Maybe he would be able to fish for one. But first he crouched down by the edge of the river, his tail rises high in the air, and began to take a drink of water. Then he lowered himself next to the water, his right paw in front of him by a little, his muscles tensed, ready to swipe his paw into the water for a fish. His stomach rumbled at the thought, and his mouth started to water. Lidiya hadn't arrived yet, but hopefully she would see him fishing, and wait for just a moment. His Golden gaze lingering, waiting to see another shimmer of a grey fish scale swimming beneath the clear rapids. |

Lidiya trailed after Kodak, somewhat suprized when he went in front of her, definitely going faster than she was - which was a small suprize in itself, Kodak reasserting the slightest dominance, although then again she was right here - as she just thought of what exactly they could do and not concentrate on Kodak's scent in front of her. If Kodak could smell her, then their pursuers could, which wasn't the best. And despite her initial impression that Kodak wouldn't be like all the other males, somehow she doubted that was even possible. Displays of dominance? Check. Now all that he needed to do was start trying to interfere with her. Rounding the bend, she looked over and saw Kodak already at the stream that he apparently had led her to - not drinking water like she was here for, but... trying to catch a fish. By the gods, he had better eat the fish himself and not try to give it to her. However, she didn't really verbalize, not wanting to break his concentration, and partly because he looked too focussed to really pay attention. She stood back for a bit, and sat down in a futile attempt to reduce the pheromones that he had doubtlessly been smelling since the beginning of the day as she watched Kodak's powerful form silently stare into the river where he must have seen something, his right paw alert. |

Kodak stared intently at the water, waiting for the slight shimmer in the water as there had been before. And sure enough, a slight shimmer in the almost clear water caused his paw to shoot in. It connected with the scaly body of what looked like a trout, and sent it flying out of the water. He jumped, and caught the fish in his mouth, his tail wagging in delight as he crushed down on the fish, it's blood dripping into his mouth, making his stomach growl. That's when he noticed Lidiya sitting over a little ways away, watching him. She looked so beautiful, the sun peaking through the trees, illuminating her white pelt. He made his way over to her, and then her scent hit him. More than it had when they were in the den, and it sent his senses into overdrive. He knew how he would react with her in heat, but he had hoped it wouldn't happen just at the beginning. Those thoughts creeped into his mind, and he advanced slowly toward her. His gaze suddenly changed, and before he even knew what he was doing, he had dropped the trout he had just caught, and was standing right in front of her. His old senses gone, all he could think about was her. Her scent. Her eyes. Her soft pelt. He advanced slowly, his muzzle rubbing against her neck. Kodak wasn't acting of his own will anymore, but yet part of him realized what he was doing, and stopped right there. Seeming to wait to see how Lidiya would react. |

Lidiya... did not want the fish. Oh dear. This was exactly what she had been hoping to avoid, yet here she was, and holy crap Kodak's scent. Kodak had absolutely no idea what his pine scent did to her. Yesterday, if Kodak did what he was doing now, she would have thought it sweet. Really, she still did. But she didn't think she was ready, which was why she resolutely remained sitting down. Although she did lean into Kodak's muzzle slightly. Slightly. Not that she enjoyed it - okay, she kind of did. But she wasn't ready. Both in terms of Kodak and herself. She just wasn't ready, and hence she focussed on the one thing that she could. "The trout's yours," she said to Kodak. Although she was leaning into his muzzle, that didn't mean she wanted the trout there like an offering. A bribe, maybe. She just didn't want to. And Kodak's intention was rather clear right now. But she wasn't ready, and she just... couldn't. "Eat the trout, Kodak. it's yours." She repeated it, just for good measure. |

It was as if Kodak hadn't heard her. He was to distracted by her flowery scent to think clearly. He could care less about the fish he had just caught. Even if she didn't want him too, he had felt her lean in ever so slightly at his touch, which he took as a sign. He then proceeded to rub his head on her neck, before lowering to her shoulder, as he walked behind her sitting form to her other shoulder, his head not once leaving her white and Grey fur, he leaned a little more into her shoulder before going to her neck once again. He raised his head ever so slightly, his muzzle tracing her muzzle, pushing it towards the sky. He still wasn't thinking clearly, but all he could think about was her. How he loved her. It was probably just her scent and his hormones. But all he could think about was her. Sure he had probably been falling in love with her. But again, he wasn't thinking clearly. He gently leaned his body into her, gently trying to urge her into to stand. He licked the bottom of her muzzle, as he began to lean more heavily. His intentions clear. |

Lidiya was more tempted to do exactly what Kodak was asking her to do. In fact, her muscles tensed to do exactly that, he was right there and - - but - Lidiya pushed Kodak away with her muzzle. Not very gently, either. Honestly rather forcefully. "Kodak... no." Damn it, she could barely think straight around him. Doubtless why her judgement had been clouded. And yes, he was right there, but... no. She couldn't. She wasn't ready for it. Neither were her feelings for him. Kodak was yet another one of those males that chased after females in heat, she realized with a bit of a lurch. Yesterday, she might not have thought that in such a similar situation, but a female in heat meant they would be permanently pissed with all the boys. It was an ingrained habit, nothing to do with her. Right now, that was just excacerbated. She knew she wasn't ready. Careful to keep her backside away from Kodak, she backed away from him, lest he try anything, or her fog come back down over her mind. She was so stupid. Hadn't she seen the signs of what exactly Kodak wanted? She had, and had chosen to ignore them in the sense that she trusted that Kodak wouldn't try it on her. But it had barely been half an hour, and here they were. Wasn't that absolutely great. Not holding back anymore, she snapped at Kodak to emphasise her point. Not gently, but with actual teeth - Kodak had pushed her too far. Well, not totally Kodak - but she'd allowed it. Right now, she didn't want Kodak to be anywhere near her. "Kodak - just go. I'm... not ready." It was hard to say that, and look at Kodak while saying exactly that. She just couldn't. Both because she didn't know Kodak well enough, and that she personally wasn't ready yet. I thought he was better than this. "GO!" Not attempting to disguise the hurt and rawness in her voice anymore - the hurt from what, she couldn't tell anymore from the jumbled thoughts roaring through her head - she lunged at Kodak. Not to bring him down or anything - she wouldn't not in a million years, do that - but so that he'd go. Without looking at him, she turned around and sprinted away. |

As soon as she said no, the fog in his brain instantly retreated, and Kodak began to think like Kodak again. Shit. What had he done. He backed away, not trying to attempt at anything. He had clearly hit a nerve. His ears pinned back, not in anger, but in regret. He knew he wouldn't be able to handle himself. He had around all the other females, but he couldn't around her. That's why he had run ahead, had sat a little ways away, so he wouldn't be tempted. But he fell for it. But she had leaned in to him, and he guessed he had misinterpreted the sign. Sure she did like him, that was clear. But he had pushed to hard. His heart dropped as she told him to go away. His ears were still pinned back, his tail now tucked. He just stood there like that, even as she yelled at him to leave. Then she lunged, which practically told him everything was over. He had fumbled the only good thing he had. He should have known she hadn't wanted this. But whenever he was around her his brain clouded up. He didn't want to look at her either. If she told him to go one more time, he would run and not come back. It was over between them. He would never have Lidiya. And then she screamed at him again. Her voice raw with emotion, then he could hear her footsteps as she ran. He knew she was gone, and looked to where she had left, the branches of the Bush still moving where she had run through them. He closed his golden eyes one more time, hoping it wasn't true. She had risked everything for him. And now she was gone. Kodak once again screwing her life up. Kodak heaved a sigh of sadness, and began to walk in the opposite direction of where Lidiya went. Where would he go? |

Well, that wasn't really successful. Lidiya sprinted away, not really caring where she was going, but more of what she was going away from that still felt almost like a tether backwards. Back to Kodak. She had no idea why she'd done that, but she had to have made it clear to Kodak: she just wasn't ready. Which was why she'd snapped at him like that. She just wasn't ready - but did she have to have snapped at Kodak like that? Her mind was just stuck on how she'd snapped and lunged at him like that. Kodak hadn't deserved that. But she'd done it, and in her haste, and now Kodak was probably just lost - or gone. She had driven Kodak away. And now she felt terrible about it. Too lost in her own thoughts, she hadn't noticed another wolf smell. One that she was rather familiar with, and that definitely didn't want her here. In fact, she hadn't even thought to figure out who it was, thinking it was Kodak. Or something familiar. Something to get her away from waht she'd done with Kodak. Unfortunately, it was familiar. "Lidiya." Alpha Cooper's muzzle stretched out into a smile as he saw her - and not a nice smile, either. "We wondered where you were." Suddenly hyperaware of what was happening, she frantically looked around. Kodak... wasn't anywhere near, and was one of her only hopes. She tried backing away, but all that that did was encourage the other enforcers to slowly start circling around her. "It's time to go back, Lidiya. You're in heat." Alpha Cooper said it like it was absolutely nothing. "You're going to come back with us, and we're all going to be fine." "KODAK!" Lidiya screamed, fully aware that there was only a chance that he'd hear her. But she had to try anyway. Alpha Cooper's expression didn't shift an inch. "His name is Kodak?" He cocked his head interestedly before continuing. "Hmm. Interesting indeed." Shaking his head, his eyes fixed back on Lidiya - much like the pervert that she had always seen most male wolves be when near a female in heat, and so so so unlike how Kodak had looked at her, full of- It was such a difference, she was momentarily speechless. "Come on, Lidiya. Either that or we drag you along." Alpha Cooper's eyes glinted with the finality of a leader used to being obeyed. Lidiya stayed where she was. So she was dragged along, a prisoner to her very own pack. |
