Kodak stood in confusion. What did he mean by that. He gave Lidiya a quick glance before looking back to Alpha Cooper. His gaze seemed deadly, but as he looked into his eyes, a sudden memory appeared in his mind.
Kodak led the small patrol through the undergrowth, looking around for Grey Hill scouts. It was supposed to be a quick in and out, fight the wolves, leave before you take too much damage, and raid their camp. The Grey Hill had raided them the week before, and Njord had been fuming for payback all week. And it didn't help but fuel Kodaks anger. These wolves were murders and thieves, and they deserved what came to them. His father's death had left him defeated, and he would not feel like that again. Hymir and Commodus were at his side, and a few older but now retired wolves crawled next to them, Grigorii, Mildain, and Dragomir. And behind Kodak, was the new apprentice at the time in Hoku. Hoku was barely of age, but his father had made him tag along, knowing he needed his experience. Kodak and the rest of the group had just seen a glimpse of their camp, and were about to attack when Hoku let out a yelp, Kodak's head whipped around and saw a Grey Hill scout dragging the young apprentice away by the scruff kf his neck, already drawing blood. Kodak looked to the others and yelled to continue, and his raiders ran down the embankment and attacked the camp. Grey Hill had been warned by Hoku 's yelp, but still looked startled by the attack. They knew it would be coming, but hadn't expected it today. Kodak leaped towards the scoot, clawing at his face and neck until he dropped Hoku. He quickly powered through the young scout, who seemed u experienced in battle. He growled as he pinned him, and looked into his eyes. Far too young, didn't kill his father. With a last slash of his claws, he sent the scout whimpering into thr undergrowth. Hoku now free Lau ched himself into battle, Kodak following behind. Kodak engaged with an older warrior, and Hoku seemed to attack an apprentice. Two Grey Hill wolves ran fleeing, and he soon sent the warrior along with them, and out of his peripheral vision saw Dragomir rush back towards their camp, blood draining from his eye and face. But before Kodak could engage with another foe, he heard Hoku yelp in pain again, and saw a female warrior fighting against him, easily pinning him. Kodak howled in rage and ran towards her. But as he leaped towards her face and neck area, Cooper, young at the time, slammed into him as he fought Grigorii, causing Kodak's aim to falter. Instead he landed hard on her side, knocking her over, and Kodak's heavy weight landed on her back, where as they tumbled to the ground instantly snapped in an unearth like way. Leaving Kodak with a sickening feeling. Kodak felt bo rage towards Grey Hill wolves. His mission was to find and kill his fathers killer. No one else. And as he looked into the lifeless eyes of the female, he felt a feeling a dread. It was indeed an accident, and as he called his wolves to retreat, he couldnt shake the feeling of those lifeless eyes, and it made him sick Inside.
And as he turned to look back to Lidiya, he could ssee those lifeless eyes alive again in Lidiya. And rhat was when the dotd connected. She had told him earlier her mother had died and battle. And as he stared at her, his face Gabe a look of terror, as he figured out that he was her mother's killer.
