I like that, too. It could have enhanced the effects on those individuals. Maybe the stone wasn't quite as broken as whoever did it was hoping, which is why it didn't affect every pair. |

Sort of? Like, they don't want to be bonded, but they go through the ceremony anyways, and something about their attitude makes the broken stone malfunction. So they don't purposefully turn rogue, but their emotions do cause it.
Maybe breaking the stone originally caused beasts and humans that weren't ready for a bond to feel the urge. So they bonded prematurely? |
