In this one, Max arrested Garvin when he was 16 and the Asters fostered/adopted by the time Garvin was 17. So. Yeah. Yay.

Also- I see that you switched from OSDD-1 for Briar to DID, did you end up falling into the rabbit hole I did with Garvin? XD

I'm still kinda switching back and forth, so I may change it back, I really can't decide, all I know is I've made more alters because they make sense, ahhhh ;-;

Also, a good way to figure it out is structure.

How is the system structured? How thin/thick are the amnesiac/dissociative barriers?

Yeahh, I've been working on that, it's just taking me a bit to figure out ;-;

I do know that the dissociative barriers are very thick with the exception of Bee and co-fronting alters a lot of the time (Rye and Briar, most obviously in T8P)-

But, like-

I'm still iffy because even with more alters and high amnesia I'm not quite sure they meet all the criteria for DID over OSDD-1, lol

Structure was more of the OSDD-1b

For OSDD-1a

It's more about how distinct the alters are, if they're more or less the host at different ages or entirely different people with totally different appearances and whatnot

So basically...

If the system has any non-human alters, then it's most likely DID and not OSDD-1

If there aren't non-human alters then it gets more tricky but uh... Yeah. For now we'll stick to this. I'll continue after if need be lol

So, as you've already seen, a lot of Briar's "past" alters (ones that I was already sure of previously) were set up to more fall into the OSDD-1 (specifically OSDD-1b) catagory where they kind of fit into a certain period to cope with something traumatic, and, rather than being different people, they were more-so like the same person in different stages of growing up and acting out in certain enviroments, BUT

Some of the newer (recently created, there's one that was formed a little earlier in Briar's life) alters are not like that at all, including one non-human alter.

Technically Sall is also based off a different person rather than being "Briar" but in a different stage of life

This being why I switched it to DID rather than OSDD, but I'm still uncertain because of the mix, though I'm also pretty sure I've seen some stuff about people with DID experiencing something similar, I'm just scared of getting it wrong, haha

That sounds like DID to me, yeah

Sounds kind of like Epochs, even

Epochs can have lower barriers within them but thick ones with other Epochs.

Actually- I first expected OSDD-1 for Garvin because of similar reasonings

And then I went down the rabbit hole and found out that Polyfragmented DID often seems like OSDD-1 at first because of... Epochs! And Sidesystems, Subsystems, and just... Sisasystems in general.

Okay, welp, time to go down the rabbit hole then XD
