Acris “ Cruel “ Okzos-Leighton

Real name: Okzos Acris Leighton

Fake name: Acris’Okzos( Full name)

Nicknames: Abaddon ( In Hebrew/Greek, they use this to address the devil. Meaning “ The angel of death” or “ The destroyer “)( Locals)

[ “.....Dexter…..is……my…..father???!!” ]

━━━━━━

Age: 23 years old

Gender: Man

Sexuality: Doesn’t have one, he has goals.

Parent: Captain Dexter 'The Wild' Leighton

Appearance:

Personality:

Sloppy- Childish- Sold- Hired hunter - “ I lost Anna, I'll kill you all one day so she can rest easy- Strong goals - Ugly - Jealously clouds emotions- Envies Hot people, no matter the gender - Envy can be considered strange yet fuels his power to strike down his enemies- Friendly - Stupid - Hot-headed- Clueless - He smells like dead bodies 24/7- Disgusting to look at - Promising - Loyal in the end- Risk-taker- Stand by me and see this through type mindset.

Overall a very resourceful soul, a soul who will stop at nothing to revenge his friends. Someone who might seem dangerous because he's willing to risk his own life to get everyone across the finish line. And sure, although his rampages are toxic and he can easily be blinded by revenge doesn't mean he will hurt those around him; maybe the way he acts and attacks people can make people see him as an unstoppable beast but he intends to protect. Even if he's weak, even if he's powerless against everyone who knows what their skill and talent are, you think that'll stop him from fighting. He's a protector, he's the decoy. He's nothing but a weapon to be used.

Okzos was never one to express himself well. He didn’t allow his emotions to get control of his choices, no. Even though he’s known for his outrages, rampages, and fighting spirit to take anyone down; he doesn’t do this because he’s “ broken” or “ hurt”--simply because he wants to. He likes it. He enjoys the notion and narrative of being the bastards' child. Some might say in a whisper, Okzos has no filters. No values, he only seeks the end of his goals;

Okzos is the type of man you’ll need one day, who might seem weak and fragile because he thought he was strong for the longest time. Proving himself has never been a challenge.

Although Okzos wasn’t strange enough, his identity has given him a sense of confusion. Who was he before Okzos? Acris? That man knew Anna, he knew her well enough to allow her to come close enough to learning who he truly was, yet it got her killed.

Before Okzos, there was Acris, his intolerant, and inconsiderateness is probably why Anna started stalking him before he grew to be Okzos. Let alone the fact he's also ghastly, antagonistic, and ferocious, but impulses of being enthusiastic as well at least lessen their effects. Acris was, no..is different from Okzos. He knew nothing about the hope that blossomed in people--all he knew was to survive. The only thought Acris had was---Anna. No one else mattered when it came to her, just following her around was enough to make him feel normal. Did Anna know that though? Did Acris, before he became Okzos tell Anna how he felt before her demise cursed him?

" Who cares...right? Who cares about the dead? Dead people can't be loved beyond the grave...they can't possibly know what love feels like anymore"

Considerable opponents have been made because of this and his disagreeable nature, much to the nuisance of others. Although there are flaws in Acris, Okzos doesn't blame him--he doesn't require the boy to be regretful of his past actions. Okzos took it upon himself to make all of Acris' sins cease to exist. With Anna, he's skillful and courteous if you look for it, there is still some expectancy. Unfortunately, his inconsideration will forever be something to deal with.

To be more simple. Okzos has been Acris for so long, he couldn’t tell the two apart. The boy who was cursed with no knowledge of who he truly was, and then—the man who was cursed with every right to watch this whole world burn, a man who lost someone because she was closing in on something she had no business knowing. Okzos pitied Acris, the boy just wanted to be left alone to die in the gutters; but Anna–that brothel bitch daughter just had to bother him. While Okzos regrets meeting the girl, Acris fights against him; their memories of the same girl told different stories. As a girl Anna was quiet yet deadly, she protected Acris, she cared about him and him only; she would dare someone to speak against Acris. Though adult Anna was obsessed with finding something, something Okzos was the key to, she harassed him daily, she would accuse him of keeping secrets–telling him she used to love him…telling Okzos ever since he found out who he was, he changed. Okzos took it upon himself to avenge Anna. Sure she was a dipshit but she wasn’t always like that, she had something going on; she just wanted to live–unlike Acris.

Name

Reynard Braddock

Name Info

He took Braddock from his father’s surname, though he likes to introduce himself as Reynard Reeves. Reynard, as might have been guessed, was his mother’s idea, a bit of ego-stroking on her part. He has been referred to as “Reyn,” his most common nickname.

Age

25

Gender

Male

Sexuality

Homo/Bisexual

While it might be more acceptable to be non-straight out on the sea, Reynard couldn’t risk his reputation in Naint by being with a man. He feels that he could be happy with a woman, but he has yet to find one to prove that right.

Parent

Reba “Vixen” Reeves

Appearance

Reynard doesn’t bear quite enough resemblance to his mother to be immediately identified as her son. He has her rosy complexion, heavy lower lip, and a tint of auburn to his hair, but in general he looks very little like her. His skin is light and untanned, with a warm blush to his cheeks and a healthy luster to his complexion. It’s soft but not totally unscarred - Reynard wasn’t always so good at keeping himself out of trouble, and his adventures as a young boy left him with a few marks. His face is distinctly round, with a soft jawline and ears that stick out from the sides of his face. His nose is slightly curved and not too big. He has a fairly thin upper lip, but a larger lower lip. His mouth is always stretched into a small, slightly quirked up, and his large lower lip makes his smile seem even bigger. He has good enough teeth with only a cavity or two. His eyes are slightly hooded and straight, almost almond-shaped with dark lashes. His irises are a kind of hazel that looks like flecked green, brown, and blue, but the predominant color is brown. His brows are defined and dark, nearly straight but with slight curves. One is often angled upwards, and they always look relaxed and friendly. His hair is down to his shoulders, and is slightly wavy. His hair is fairly dark brown, with auburn undertones and a certain warmth to it. He wears it loose, though he’l tie it back once in a while to keep it out of his face.

Reynard stands at about six feet tall, and he’s in good shape. He’s not as muscular as many sailors, but he has sinewy strength and he’s very healthy. He’s toned and has some tanning on his shoulders and arms. He has a few scars scattered across his body, though nothing too nasty or deep. He has long fingers and trimmed fingernails, and he’s a very clean person. His skin is fairly soft, his palms showing that he’s hardly worked a day in his life.

Despite what Reynard’s position and home would indicate, he doesn’t have money to throw at his outfits. In fact, most of his mother’s money - the portion that she doesn’t spend on herself - goes directly to the town. So Reynard’s outfits, while they’re high-quality, aren’t very expensive. For instance, he doesn’t own a single wig, which is a common sign of wealth where he’s from. He wears a white linen shirt with a collar and cuffs, and over this he wears a short waistcoat with tight sleeves, typically color-coordinate to his coat. His coat is bright red, and so his waistcoats are in shades of red. His coat is fairly long, below the knees, and has a center-front button closure and wide cuffs. It also has pockets and a slit in the back through which his sword sticks. His sword is tucked into a belt. He has barely-visible dark brown breeches tucked into his shoes. He wears tall black leather boots with slight heels and a black beaver-skin tricorner hat, though he knows better than to wear this in the wild winds of the sea. He has a bright silk sash across one shoulder with a folding knife and his two pistols. Each of these is attached to the sash with a lanyard. As for jewelry, he has vey little except for the occasional necklace and, more importantly, a large golden ring similar to those which his mother wears.

Personality

Reynard was raised as a landowner in the wealthy British town of Naint. He shows all the class and sophistication that can be expected of someone like this. He’s a dashing young man with a loose sense of fun to please the lower class and a set of manners to please the upper class. He seems to get along with any kind of person he meets, and to fit in just about any place. He’s always ready with a compliment or a throwaway gift to buy people’s affections. If you can’t win them with your words, more tangible things are a good backup plan. It’s obvious that he’s eager for people to like him, though whether this is manipulation or something less sinister is unclear. He has a sincerity and a genuine appearance to him, but one can’t trust that he’s always being honest. He doesn’t seem the type to set up those who are close to him, but his loyalty only extends so far. He’s quick to extend a friendly hand, and is very easy to befriend. He seems to enjoy company, and can find something good about everything that makes them worth being around. But there’s never any trust there, and nobody should expect there to be. He assumes that people will do what they have to to get what they want, even if that means throwing him over. In return, he treats his friends the same. In some cases, he goes into a friendship planning to betray them, his relationship with them existing only because he wants something. He knows how to weasel what he wants out of people, and he does this at times with his charm, but more than that with his own smooth kind of logic. Reynard is a very intelligent person, and while he sometimes uses this in a more straightforward manner, he also knows how to rationalize nearly anything. He can talk his way out of bad situations, make deals, navigate his fair share of politics. He just sounds so reasonable, it’s hard to argue with him. He’s a calm, collected, and perfectly frank-sounding person, and he prefers to talk people down instead of fighting them. His permanent smile won’t drop even in the direst straights.

Reynard doesn’t exactly have a good reputation with people from neighboring towns, but with the full support of his own town, funded by his mother, he’s had little reason to care what anyone outside of his little bubble thinks of him. He’s used to being admired, but also has to maintain a delicate balance: after all, his mother has betrayed the Crown more than once, and the townspeople are risking a lot by protecting her. So it’s his job to keep them happy, and make sure they always think of Captain Vixen as their protector and savior. He has no choice but to be well-liked by his town, or he would be ruined. He’s known as an upstanding citizen, an easy-natured man who attends church, gives his wealth to the needy, and is enchantingly good with children and elders. Even if his mother is a pirate, few people hold this against him. He hardly seems like the kind of young man who would have a pirate for a mother. Though he bears some appearance of a pirate, and he certainly won’t deny his heritage, these things that link him to his mother are shown off to create a positive association with pirates. He has no true corsair blood in him. All the same, he holds an affection for that swashbuckling life. Even if he can’t taste it for fear of being abandoned by his town and family, he cherishes the idea of being out on the sea, following in his mother’s footsteps. He has a certain admiration for the rougher types who roam the seas. He has the skills of a pirate, learned from his mother, and has heard stories since he was young. He yearns for adventure, and for a taste of danger and freedom. But Captain Vixen made it clear that she wanted him safeguarding her homeport, and he would never argue with her.

Nothing is more important to Reynard than family. He never gives his friends an ounce of trust, but he would stake his life on his family. His loyalty to them is unwavering and undying, something they can always rely on - or so they’ve always assumed. It may well be that this curse is where he draws the line - after all, why die to save his mother from a curse that never should have been his? But for his remaining family members, his loyalty seems to remain. He puts up with nearly anything from them, and isn’t prone to fighting with family members even if he’s upset with them. He expects other people to feel the same about their family, and judges them very harshly if they don’t make an effort to please their parents, to protect and help their siblings, to show their spouses that they love them, to give everything to their children. He hasn’t started his own family yet, maybe because he hasn’t felt that spark. With such devoted familial loyalty as his, he has to be very careful about who he winds up spending the rest of his life with. He typically jumps to the conclusion that anyone who would want to be with him would be doing it for political power. And as much as he can see the strategic benefit, he wants to be absolutely sure he can stand being with someone forever before he jumps in. With such pull in his community, he’s used to being flirted with, and is quick to deflect it and shut people down. He doesn’t let it get far even if he might be interested in the person. He would have to know someone for a long time to let them try and pull something like that on him. He says he’d rather take it slow, but with the rate he’s been going it may be that he never winds up with someone.

Reynard is a surprisingly open person when it comes to his emotions, but as is usual with him, it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s not. He can easily fake a sob story or guilt-ridden confession, but he also shares his real feelings quite readily. Less so in actions, but more in words. He’s willing to tell the truth about how he’s feeling, for the most part, even if emotions don’t run visibly across his face. That smile always stays on. Those who don’t know him well are more easily sucked in because of his mix of the real and fake, and those who know better discount his real feelings, assuming they’re fake. And really, he prefers it that way, because holding things back would only strain and tear at him. All the same, there are things he keeps to himself. Everyone has their little secrets, after all, and nobody is an open book. That’s certainly what Reynard believes. He’s willing to listen to people, and to sympathize with them if they ask for it, but he never takes their words at face value. He’ll grant them some pity and a few spare coins if that’s what they’re looking for, but that’s as far as it goes. His anger is disconcerting, especially because it seems to be elicited by rather unpredictable things. He keeps on smiling, but his smile becomes venomous and cold, as does the rest of his demeanor. It may take time to detect something off about him, and he’ll insist that he’s not angry at all. He refuses to say what he’s mad about, or admit that anything’s wrong. He never goes out of his way to get revenge, but he holds a grudge for a long time, and if the opportunity presents itself he’s more than happy to kick an enemy when they’re down.

All in all, Reynard’s life has been all about balance. He’s a strange blend of genuine and deceitful, caring and untrusting, wild and refined, logical and emotional.

Primary Skill

Persuasion

Reynard learned a lot from his mother and father, but has also had to rely on his charisma since he was a young boy to keep his comfortable position in Naint. He’s had plenty of practice influencing people and crafting a reputation, and plenty of practice dealing with the wild accusations and unstable suspicions of his father. Whether through logic, emotion, or some light bribery, Reynard typically gets what he wants.

Secondary Skill

Swordfighting

Reynard’s mother never took the time to teach him a skill she didn’t think he’d use. So he took it upon himself to learn. His swordplay, while masterful and elegant, lacks the savagery and brutal killer instinct of some pirates. Fortunately, he makes up for it with nerves of steel and superior training. After all, swordplay is one thing a young gentleman can learn without raising any eyebrows.

Primary Weapons:

Reynard’s main weapon, which he has on him at all times, is a common British smallsword. It has a brass handle with polished wood, a simple curved design, and a coquille guard. The triangular cross-section is hollow ground for added lightness, with a 32-inch colichemarde blade. This sword is made for finesse and easy maneuverability rather than sheer power.

Normally Reynard wouldn’t carry any other weapon, but for something like this he’s opted to bring along a pair of flintlock pistols his mother left at their home. They were a British Officer’s variety, stolen from an officer. They’re a bit heavy, made of bright wood and metal.

Captain Reba “Vixen” Reeves

Mother

Reynard’s birth was a strategic move for Captain Vixen, like many things are for her. She doesn’t see him often, but she raised him to be absolutely loyal to her. Though she’s found him a slight disappointment, she still prefers to rely on his charm over his more practical brother. She relies on him to keep her home port in good condition, but she’s made it clear that she’ll support him financially only as long as he’s useful to her. He’s struggled to be a good son, but he’s finally come to decision that he can’t avoid, a case of his life or hers.

Edgar Braddock

Father

Reynard’s father lived in Naint before Captain Vixen took it over. It was a poor town then, and Edgar was lucky to have been chosen from among the townspeople as Captain Vixen’s husband. She funneled wealth into the town and the land which Edgar was allowed to live on, and in exchange he kept the townspeople on her side and decided how her money would be spent. Later on, he started getting a bit too bold. Captain Vixen set Reynard up to take over for him, but Edgar refused to be shouldered out and started hating Reynard. Finally Captain Vixen got tired of him and asked Reynard to kill him. When he couldn’t bring himself to do it, she asked Todd instead, and Edgar’s death was passed off as an illness.

Todd Braddock

Younger Brother

Reynard’s younger brother was never the favorite, and most of the duties fell on Reynard. Todd didn’t hold a grudge, and they remained close. All the same, Todd’s always been ambitious, and when he saw the opportunity to surpass Reynard and earn their mother’s approval, he was quick to dispose of their father and take his place. Reynard doesn’t begrudge him it, but the two have grown more distant since then.

Backstory

Captain Vixen fought for the Crown, but chose to fight for the other side when she was offered a vast sum of money. After that, the Crown had it out for her. She was no longer welcome in the more civilized ports. As a wealthy and vain woman, she didn’t find it fit that she should make her home in one of the shabby, tough towns along the coast. She instead funneled her wealth into a single town, Naint, giving it the resources to improve to her satisfaction. In doing this, she also earned their loyalty, which was vital to her remaining uncaptured by the Crown. She bribed the lord to turn a blind eye, and purchased a large estate near the town. She made her home there, but soon wanted to be off again. Wanting to be sure everything would stay in order, she picked out the finest young man in town, Edgar, and offered him the home and a great deal of money to marry her and keep Naint under her control. He agreed, and she would come by once in a while. The Crown did try to capture her there, but Naint adored her and wouldn’t betray her to their ruler. She was also their only source of money - she had made sure to scare off merchants, discourage trade, and cut off cooperation with neighboring towns. Eventually Edgar and Vixen had a son, Reynard. Vixen had little to do with raising him, but wanted him to be a symbol of her ties to Naint, and be more active in the townspeople’s lives to keep them liking her. She had Edgar raise him with the idea that family was important above all else, wanting his complete loyalty. When she came she would teach him the fine art of bribery and weaving silver words. When her second son with Edgar, Todd, was born, she did the same for him, though she was less intent. He was more like an extra child. As Edgar got older, he started doing things without Vixen’s permission, taking liberties. This displeased her, and she immediately made moves to set Reynard up to take over instead. Edgar was furious, and tried to shoulder Reynard out. Vixen had him set up to take over, but Edgar took down that ploy. Furious, Vixen decided to dispose of Edgar. She told Reynard that the position and all of the money were his if he would poison his father. But he couldn’t poison someone who was his family, and Vixen turned to Todd. Todd took care of their father, and they passed his death off as an illness. Even though Edgar had hated Reynard and treated him very badly later in his life, Reynard was sorry he was dead. Todd got the position and the home, but Reynard didn’t begrudge him it. He still lived in the house, and he was still the darling of Naint. That was six years ago. He might have been a while longer now, but this curse has certainly thrown a wrench into his plans.

Appearance:

“Ethereally regal” is a good way to describe Ilya. Really, she has a lovely appearance, with pale blonde hair that frames her face like a halo — it almost seems to make her glow, contrasted against her tanned skin. It falls down her back, majorly straight with a bit of a wave to it but voluminous nonetheless, growing in volume the farther it falls. The way it falls against her face aids to frame it, oft cleared by thin, perfectly manicured fingers — a part of a package of a slight frame, lithe and nimble. One glance at her suggests incredible beauty.

A good look at her face wouldn’t necessarily unconfirm that, but…

Ilya has an incredibly bad case of resting bitch case. Likely the worst case you’ve ever seen. It’s fixed in a permanent death stare — not even necessarily a glare, even, as much as it is her drilling the heat death of a thousand suns into your skull. Whether it’s an intimidation tactic or entirely unintentional is up for debate, now, but her withering stare tends to keep people from noticing the actual features of her face, though Ilya wouldn’t necessarily complain about that fact.

In feature, she has a fairly pretty face, though not enough to make up for her expression; it, too, works towards her angelic look, with double-lidded eyelids over eyes a soft dark blue color, though unmistakably sharp in their look of intelligence (her mother said she got that from her father), framed by thick pale lashes that sweep over her cheeks when she closes her eyes. She has a straight nose set over full lips with the slightest tinge of pink to them, and her face is entirely clear of blemishes — as is the rest of her, in fact. She has no freckles, beauty marks, or acne to be seen, a fact she regards as entirely neutral.

Her legs are long and slender with a certain elegance to them, hairless from thorough shaving. Her arms have a similar elegantly thin quality to them, though closer inspection yields notice of toning; unmistakably the result of her more pirate-like hobbies, which tend to be heavy on the arms and wrists. Her hands, however, are perfectly smooth and soft, against all logic. Ilya, however, seems intent on maintaining her holy appearance against all things holy.

Attire & Accessories:

In attire, Ilya ensures she remains fashionable to the public. As such, she chooses it for the occasion — her wardrobe is wide and varied to ensure she isn’t caught dead wearing the same thing twice the same month, but typically, she trends towards whatever will leave a better impression of her. Billowing or elegant skirts for formal events or private occasions when she won’t be expected to move much, a fashionable but loose enough choice of pants when she will be moving. She keeps her gun(s) stashed away on her person where it won’t be seen, typically strapped to her thigh, or in a holster on her belt when she’s confident it’s fully allowed.

Tops also vary; she does own a great amount of dresses, formal and casual alike, but she’s a fan of clothes that give her a noble appearance. There’s a great amount of shirts with ruffles, suits, and overcoats in her closet — few are adorned with jewels, as she ordinarily leaves that to her jewelry. She adorns her ears most commonly, though she’ll occasionally go for bracelets and necklaces even more rarely; an anklet can also be seen here and there, though those are usually only in fully-decked-out cases. Paired with heels or some high-heeled boots (always with the heels — two to three inches, preferably, get her 5’6” height to a 5’8” or 9”) and a pair of arm-length ballroom gloves ("to protect her hands", she says. From what, no one knows) and she’s got her fit for the day.

Personality:

(notes for me, will be deleted later)

appears:

cool-headed/professional/regal/always two steps ahead

temperamental/tantrum-prone/overthinker/adventurous/loser/overpleasing/probably only just one step ahead

in and out:

sharp-witted/clever/bitter/cold/passive-aggressive/calculating/thinker, not a fighter/uptight

Ilya’s demeanor exudes cold professionalism, from the way she carries herself down to the lilt in her voice. Straight posture, quick, precise movements, and an expression that screams “I know exactly what I’m doing and where I’m going and if you interrupt me you’ll die a thousand times over” ensures that her status is secured in people’s minds as completely and utterly unapproachable in every sense of the world. When addressed, her responses are sharp and professional, and she has a habit of dismissing everyone like she has the authority to do so when she’s done talking to them, even if she has none whatsoever -- unless, of course, they’re of high enough status for her to consider them “needing to be impressed”, in which case she’s all curtsies, polite smiles and lilting words. Her conduct has a certain level of regality to it, head held high with a dignity only intensified by her stiltingly formal demeanor and manner of speaking, one that holds whether she's being curt or boot-lickingly polite.

Primary Skill:

- Sailing :: Despite her mother’s best wishes, Ilya is an excellent sailor. She’s remarkably efficient at getting everyone into place, getting the sails down, adjusting the speed as is needed, drilling into peoples’ skulls which way is port and which way is starboard and getting out of sticky situations and weather. She’s also remarkably skilled at doing things herself due to the sheer amount of times she’s gotten frustrated at how slow people are and just took over for half the crew. -

Secondary Skill:

- Deductions :: Primary occupation being detective work, Ilya is remarkably good at observation and deduction. It’s work to rival Sherlock, if only a little less far-fetched, as she attempts to get as much information as possible before reaching her conclusions. She picks up the pace in order to make up for it, though, which makes space for a great deal of her past mistakes. -

Weapon(s) of Choice:

“The pen may be mightier than the sword, but no pen can be of any use with a bullet through the middle.”

Ilya primarily uses guns. Pistols, for the most part -- fancy ones, heirlooms from her family, gifts from clients, or bought for their appearance and capability. Out of them, only one is from her sharpshooting father, made high quality and long-lasting with engravings of tentacles etched along the sides.

It’s her favorite gun.

Jax Umbrosse [Younger Half-Brother]

“He has the potential for great things, I know it, if he’d only practice one more time…”

- Ilya’s relationship with her little brother is… complicated, to say the least. She loves him, at least; that is an inarguable fact, though, the way she is, she can offer nothing but cold love and the ability to provide him with whatever he needs. She tutors him in every subject she knows and teaches him to be a gentleman, repimands him whenever he's out of line in order to guide him best to what she thinks is his true potential, but her relationship is far too professional. Her care for him is distant, but unmistakably present, if full of none of that warm familial love that should be expected from a much older sister. -

Backstory:

Ilya’s parents were both professional people. Regal, self-confident with their heads held high — her father a pirate, a monstrous legend against the rough seas, and her mother the daughter of a business executive, all prim and proper and made up of status.

When her mother was young (too young, really), with eyes still full of stars, she fell in love with Uberto in all his wit and glory. It was a whirlwind affair, one they kept secret while high on the excitement of young love and forbidden romance. Shortly, Mary fell pregnant with her eldest daughter, though she and her family were perfectly unaware until a fateful day during one of Elden’s voyages.

When the pregnancy was discovered, life changed drastically — though she was not disowned at the tearful insistence of her mother, her father, disappointed in her affair, cut her off from the will and gave all her inheritance to Ilya’s uncle, instead. Mary’s relationship with her family and town changed drastically, as she was treated coldly by most of the residents, and by the time Ilya was born, life had made a cold and disillusioned woman out of her, though she still held her chin up. Shortly after Ilya’s birth and Elden’s rearrival, she broke things off with him.

With this, Ilya was born into a world with a mother whose loving heart was filled with ice and a father who was primarily absent and equally cold, if not more, but still attempted to love her. She was raised with icy love on both sides — directed on how to be a lady, regal and noble, by her mother and shown a concerning amount of active guns by her uncertain-on-how-to-parent father.

During most of her early life, she was regarded as an illegitimate child, whispered about among gossiping housewives. She was told by her mother that if she made a good enough impression consistently enough, she could wriggle her way back into the community. Looking back on it, Ilya couldn’t help but think her mother was lying in order to give her child hope, the same way she’d been telling herself the same thing.

Nonetheless, Ilya held her chin up and remained prim, proper and well-mannered. Her young mind hardly recognized her cold treatment as cold, as much as it was just normal — how everyone acted, how they should act. Even with how that lesson settled in her heart as a young girl, resulting in an incredibly strange-acting child, she did at least manage to make one friend in an ostracized foreign boy. They made for an odd pair.

Meanwhile, her father, in the few times he was not voyaging, attempted to build Ilya in his image — a seagoer, a proper marksman and a navigator. He showed her the ropes (quite literally) and encouraged skill in her, praising whatever she did well and getting on her case for every mistake. When she successfully shot a fish that’d jumped out of the water from the side of a ship (the best shot she’d done and ever would do), her father, in celebration, gave her her first gun.

Ilya learned quickly, but evidently not quickly enough, for his visits started getting fewer and farther in between. He started changing when he was there, too — less impressed, snappier, with a grim disposition and a rarer smile. His visits never quite stopped — he visited every few years, including into her adulthood, but he never gave her anything else other than a grim smile. The remnants of his teachings remained, though, and she always did stay passionate about seafaring and her choice in weaponry, though she put a great amount of effort into rationalizing it away from piracy and towards obvious things to be a fan of.

Daddy issues aside, her little family did eventually get their reputation back. After years of being active in the community, volunteering for things, and Ilya’s habit of helping the locals and solving little mysteries, their reputation did eventually recover enough for Ilya’s mother to get remarried — not only that, but she got married to a rich man, skyrocketing their status and returning them to wealth. She was still relatively young at the time, only thirteen; still young enough that her father was still visiting every year in so, in fact. Her youth meant she had time to adjust to her heightened status, though she was always a good fit for the rich bitch role from childhood.

In her newfound acceptance, she managed to find a living in using her wit as a detective. It was respectable, basically being a smart problem-solver as a job; her community appreciated her, for once, and she was making good money. One thing that she noted, however, is how she was often turned away for other workers, usually male — and so, she turned to a friend she’d had for years to basically act in her shadow. Do nothing, take the credit and make some money, she told him. With pleasure, he responded.

With an assistant to fend from complaints in the way and a plan in mind, Ilya followed this path for years. She gained a reputation — an ace shot and ace detective with a constant dark expression and a bitter attitude, she (along with her other half, considering he, unfortunately, was still taking half the credit) was nicknamed the Black Ace. She lived like this for years, gaining a reputation, oftentimes hired for contract work by the rich or officials — and occasionally, when she was called for jobs overseas, she’d insist on being the helmsman.

It was probably a good thing she’d gotten in all that practice, since she’ll be forced to be a helmsman once again.

Weapon(s) of Choice:

“You don’t have to be precise to be fatal with blunt force!”

Dmitry doesn’t actually own any weapons on authority that he has a friend who’ll shove a gun of her own in his hands were he to ever need one (“A gun is clearly better to have than anything you might try to use,” she says. “Spoken like a true serial killer,” Dmitry says with a smile). He does, however, own a baseball bat — a pretty sizable one, made of a hefty wood with some soft bandaging wrapped around the handle so he doesn’t splinter his hands from grabbing it too hard. It’s his favorite to use, even if he doesn’t use it often.

Ilya, at the moment, considering that’s who he’s known the longest. He’s open to change. (“Change your mind and you’re dead meat, Dim.”)

Name: Hayden Jones

Age: 24

Gender: Male (he/him)

Sexuality: Homosexual

Appearance: Hayden does not look like the type to have worked as a gunner, but he definitely appears to be someone who would potentially be hired at both a bartender and bouncer given his appearance which is somewhat fitting that he currently serves as both in his local bar. With a height of exactly six foot one, Hayden is not extremely tall but not short either but his muscle makes it appear as though he is much taller. He is not overly bulky but he is certainly big enough to give off an opposing aura. Though he has been in his fair share of combat, he only has a few small scars on his hands from manning the ship he used to work on. In addition, Hayden has very few tattoos, only having a small black anchor tattoo on his wrist and the seal of the navy tattooed into the side of his neck.

Having a rectangular face and a bit of a stubble growing along his jawline, his serious looking face often contradicts his sarcasm and flirting as sly grins twist his lips. With eyebrows as thick and dark as the bags under his eyes, his face is very expressive but often pressed in a hateful or flirtatious manner. His eyes are smoky in color and sultry in nature. Although they are pretty, the freckles that faintly dot his face have entranced many or at least brought them closer in an attempt to better see the faint dots.

As for clothing, Hayden does not own much of it but he does have two sets of clothes that he frequently uses: his work uniform and his more casual clothes. For his work at the bar, Hayden tends to sport a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up past his elbows and a tight, black vest. With an alcohol-stained, black apron, Hayden wears black pants that are rarely seen from Hayden being forced to stand behind the bar unless a fight occurs and Hayden decides to actually care for once to break it up. The pants are the only thing he owns that do not at least have one tear in it and are so comfortable that he wears them in his more casual outfit too. When he is out and about, Hayden will sport a loose maroon shirt that he generally keeps tucked in loosely and that has a deep ‘v’ that is very open on his chest. Hayden does not wear much jewelry for fear of wasting money let alone allowing it to get stolen, but he does wear a simple skull earring in his left ear as a reminder.

Personality: Aggressive to Strangers | Overly Sarcastic | Snarky | Sharp Witted | Pushes People Away | Defensive | Diligent Worker | Stubborn | Pessimistic | Flimsy Loyalty | Hyperactive | Possessive | Vindictive | Empathetic | Dry Humor | Introverted | Judging Of Others | Blunt | VERY Blunt | Guilt-Ridden | Cares More Than Lets On | Wanderlust | Lustful | Cheapskate

Likes: Booze (when off the job), Making New Drinks for Customers, Trying New Things, Getting Letters from Siblings, Getting Time to Relax, Receiving Any Kindness, Cold Food and Drinks, Flirting, + Beautiful Scenery

Dislikes: Bread (especially when stale), Repetition, Constant Work, Father reaching Out to Him, Being Insulted, Luke-Warm Drinks, Nosy People, + Same Old Views

Occupation: Bartender / Ex-Gunner

Relationship Status: Single as of the Beginning of RP

Significant Other: ^

Crush: None

Exes: Way too many to count (also Marcos)

Kin: Gregory [Dad], Natalie [Little Sister], Tomas [Little Brother]

Name: Jenny Shelley

Age: 22

Gender: Female (she/her)

Sexuality: Questioning (but probably Straight)

Appearance: Though Jenny has a much more masculine look to her, Jenny is quite happy with her appearance as of lately, something that would have been completely taboo for Jenny a while back. With wide hips and shoulders, Jenny has a round body laced with muscle. Her whole body, from her face, to her shoulders, to her abs and so on, is covered in dark brown freckles that contrast with her sun-kissed— or rather sun-hickied-and-bruised from how burnt she is on her face and shoulders— skin. Although she has a plethora of freckles, it is hard to tell the difference between freckles and old cigarette burn scars that invest and burrow into her arms like worms with sharp needles for teeth. Speaking of scars, Jenny has quite a few, many consisting of the aforementioned cigarette burns and thin slash scars on her wrists. In addition, Jenny has what appears to be a branding on the back of her left shoulder that has so many slash marks on it from Jenny attempting to scratch it away. The burn is still present if you look closely though.

Jenny has an oval face shape with bushy eyebrows and emerald green eyes that stick out in both a beautiful and disturbing manner. She has a Nordic nose and bottom-heavy lips. Jenny also has dark brown hair that is often hanging low in her face when she does not have her bandanna to pull back her bangs and long hair. The long hair that has grown to half way down her back is generally braided to keep it out of the way and less of a hassle.

As for what Jenny wears, Jenny tends to don a vest or a sleeveless shirt especially when on the job. Jenny wears thick pants that have extra padding on the knees so she can not only work more on her knees but also wipe wood scrapings and whatever else Jenny encounters on her pants without fear that she might get stabbed in the leg by it. Though it makes her hotter and sweatier faster, it serves as a great deal of protection that Jenny needs especially when considering her carelessness. She wears thin boots that a lot of sailors wear that are best for dealing with water and have saved Jenny from slipping off the slick docks on numerous occasions.

Personality: Loyal | Compassionate | Short-Tempered | Independent | Playful | Awkward with Strangers | Lazy | Hard and Smart Worker | Realistic | Lenient | Bases Her Whole Personality on Trying to Be Stronger | Power-Hungry | Patient | Humble | Laidback | Intermediate Haphephobia | Introverted | Extroverted Tendencies

Likes: Plants, Greenery, Sewing, Her Job, An Occasional Beer, Card Games (even though she is bad at it), Playing Piano at the Bar, Rain, Splashing in Puddles, Frogs, Pretty Purple Designs, Comfortable Clothes, People Being Respectful of Her, + Feeling Strong

Dislikes: Thorns, Plant-Eating Beetles, Laziness, Getting Drunk, Singing (absolutely terrible at it), Bad Bar Food, Humid Days, Feeling Sweaty, Snakes (they are a bit scary to her), Hurting Herself with a Sewing Needle, Her Breaking Boots, People trying to Touch Her, + Feeling Weak

Occupation: Bowyer / Ex-Crewmate

Relationship Status: Single

Significant Other: None and happy

Crush: Nope!

Exes: No real relationships…
