Sorcha started going through the commands again, this time remaining nonverbal and using signals only. Only on a few though, she went through a few of the easy ones, and then a few of the hard ones. But, before they could get to far, she heard someone approach. So she signaled stop to Hades, who stops, his attention on Sorcha. Who turns towards the person who had caught her attention. Ajax. Sorcha simply inclines her head at Ajax's good work. Though she did manage to hide a small grin at Ajax praising Hades and stating he was very smart and skilled.

"Thanks, we work on commands a lot, and he picks things up quickly." Sorcha then hesitates as Ajax asks if they wanted to go on a run with Ajax and his K9. Did they? They had their run for the day already, that morning, but would another run hurt them? Probably not, and not to mention, Hades would probably enjoy it. "Sure." She turns back to her K9, beckoning him to her. At the signal, Hades trots over, his tongue hanging out of his mouth. Sorcha hands Hades another treat,"Good boy." Perhaps she did spoil him just a little, heh. Oh well, it didn't do Hades any harm. While Sorcha didn't usually run in gear, neither did Hades, she didn't feel like getting it off either of them.

Besides, even though today wasn't one of the days that they did run with gear (just to keep in shape for when they would have to run in their gear on the job). It wouldn't hurt them any. For Hades, his gear didn't even really hamper him, the vest was specially fitted so that it would protect him, but also allow him the ability to run after criminals without slowing him down. Sure, it was a little added weight, but not enough to throw Hades off. The large dog was very hard to unbalance or slow down, and so, Sorcha didn't have many difficulties finding his vest.

(Sorry this is short. Was in a rush, writer's block, and a little bit of lack of motivation, XD)

Ajax nodded and glanced at his human partner’s canine. “I’m looking forwarded to seeing how he works in the field.” He said stiffly. Groaning inwardly, he cursed himself for being so stiff and formal. He wasn’t good at talking to people. Turning away, he walked back into the station to where Nyx was still sitting, waiting for him.

Looking over his shoulder, he told Sorcha, “There’s a park near the forest. It’s pretty secluded, not many people. The path’s pretty thin, but it shouldn’t be any problem for us. It’s shaded to.”

Whistling, to Nyx, he started jogging away from the station, following the mental map in his head to find the path through the park. Just as he said, no one was there, and the path was clear for them and they dogs to run.

The leaves on the trees had turned rich shades of red, orange, and gold. Some had already fallen to the ground, driffting slowly to the forest floor. Ajax knew that winter was rapidly approaching, and he thought about where to get booties, the little woolen ‘boots’ that fit over a dogs paws to protect them from cracking in the cold weather, for Nyx. Khaos’s wouldn’t fit her.

{It’s no problem! This is the first time I had wifi in a week, and you must have seen that I haven’t posted in a while because of the trip, so you’re completely fine! And short or shorter posts from you are fine cause I know you’re a great writer :). We can timeskip to when Peterson gives us the mission to find the missing kid after the run, if you’d like. I just wanna add that Khaos, Ajax’s formor Canine partner, came and helped Nyx learn some of the commands like tackle, track, speak, intimidate, and crouch. Things like that. Girl of boy, do you think th kid should be?

Also, I was thinking that right now it would be like, late autumn? So that we have to find the kid in the snow, to add that extra urgancy and ~Drama~}

Sorcha simply inclines her head, she had worked with Hades a few times in the field. But they had spent more time hanging out at her house or training. But, the few times they had worked together in the field, Hades had been incredible. She was excited to see him thrive here. She did not enjoy that she had a human partner, especially because he was being so stiff and formal. She wasn't the most open person either, but still...

Sorcha's lips thin for a second, but she follows after Ajax, Hades at her side. Sorcha nods at Ajax's words, she'd passed the park a couple of times, and she had even thought about going there. But she'd been so busy, setting up her new house.

Sorcha breaks into a jog to, but she stays behind Ajax a good distance. Hades jogging along. Sorcha's eyes remained constantly on the move as they ran, as did Hades'. They always liked to stay on high alert when they were on the move, regardless of if they were in uniform or not.

The nature was also very beautiful, especially at this time of the year. With all the beautiful colors of red, orange, and gold. There were a lot on the ground, and when off duty, Hades loved to play with the leaves as did Titan. She enjoyed watching the two play. She had equipment for the boys too so they could remain warm without restricting them too much.

(That sounds awesome to time skip! Hmm, perhaps a girl? I dunno why, but just a girl. And yes, late autumn sounds awesome. Or maybe even the middle of winter?)

“Tackle! Get ‘em Nyx!” Ajax said. He watched as Nyx shot off, dashing towards the ‘enemy’ who was on the other side of the obstical course. He ran alongside the course, grinning proudly as he saw Nyx become a black blur, her flying through the course easily, ducking, jumping, weaving and leaping. It had been about a month, a month of training for Nyx in K-9 behavior and skills, and a month of training for Ajax to become used to having a human partner. He had losened up a bit around her, and even extanged tips with her. He used the ‘go to the park, use a stranger’ for the search and rescue training that Sorcha had shown him, and he told her a quicker way to acheive a command when she was training Hades.

Nyx had gotten stronger, quicker, and smarter. Underneath her ebony pelt were hard lean muscles that flexed when she moved. She could run faster than most of the other dogs in the FHPD, and her agile build helping her move and slip through gaps easier. Nyx could also could think ahead.

He saw Nyx lung at the ‘criminal’ and tackle them to the ground. She stood over them, growling and baring her teeth visiously. She let out a sharp bark to signal that she had the ‘criminal’. When the ‘criminal’ raised an arm as if they were about to hit her or try to escape, Nyx locked her jaws around the limb, her grip not peircing the ‘skin’ of the padded suit, but strong enough to show she wasn’t playing.

Once Ajax caught up to them, he pulled out handcuffs and ordered, “Nyx, heel.” His canine got off the ‘criminal’, and Ajax hoisted them up, cuffing them. “Sniff.” He commanded, and Nyx went to work sniffing up the length of the ‘criminal’s’ body. She let out a growl when she reached their coat pocket, and he asked, “Drugs?” Nyx didn’t move. “Guns?” Bark! He reached into the pocket and pulled out a small sidearm, unloaded and safety on, of course, for the sake of the exercise.

“Good job girl!” Ajax praised her, unlocking the handcuffs on the ‘criminal’ and nodding his thanks to them. They had to make it seem as real as possible so that in te field, Nyx isn’t confused. He tossed Nyx a treat and she jumped up, catching it mid-air. He chuckled, ruffling the fur on her head.

“Scorcher!” He turned around to see Ethan jogging up to them, his canine Thorn padding behind him. “Cheif Peterson would like to see you and Officer MacK{l/n}.”

“What for?” Ajax asked, confused. Ethan shrugged. “Hell if I know. All he said was to get you and your partner and send you guys to his office. Do you know where your partner is?” Ajax shook his head. He and Sorcha had parted ways after a patrol, both of them needing to do something different. “Well, I’m going to go find her. You head to the Cheif’s office.” Ethan said, already jogging off.

Nyx looked up at him, waiting for her next order. He sighed, and started to walk through the snow towards the door that led into the station, motioning for Nyx to follow him. Snow had fallen over Fallen Hills a week ago, the air getting cold and crisp. He had gotten his canine booties to protect her pads. At first, she hated them and tired to chew them off, but Ajax was quick to correct her, and eventually, she got used to them. Luckily, the booties didn’t affect her proformance at all, even on the snow and ice.

Sorcha observes Hades as the large black German Shepherd weaves around the area. They were doing drug search, one of the many tasks of a K9. And although, the police had a force of solely drug search dogs, in the previous station, Hades had been trained in pretty much every field. An all around dog. Which, at first overwhelmed the dog, however, he had gotten use to it and it was easy for him now. And, it only kept improving. Sorcha knew she was very lucky, and happy, to have been able to get Hades. Especially since she had been a rookie when she had been given Hades. The two had bonded quickly though.

A month. It had been a month since Sorcha had transferred to the FHPD, and she was starting to fit in. Although Sorcha got along better with Ajax, she still preferred to be alone. Which is why she was training alone at the moment. Throughout the month, Hades had simply gotten stronger and faster. The dog was getting faster and faster as he grew up, and Sorcha was impressed with his speed. The top speed of a German Shepherd was thirty miles an hour, and Hades was getting pretty damn close, and on good days he could run that fast. Working with Hades was almost flawless now.

They were like one, Hades obeyed Sorcha without issue, and Sorcha respected Hades and did her best to make sure Hades was comfortable and happy. Thanks to Ajax, she had found an even faster way to give Hades commands, and they had already taken down a few criminals at Fallen Hills. Luckily, despite Hades' large build, he was still agile and quick on his paws. And with his size and weight, it was easy for him to leap and pin down a criminal when they tried to run. Which, Sorcha still didn't understand why they ran. They usually always got caught, especially when there was a K9 involved. It was pretty much impossible to outrun a dog.

Sorcha watches as Hades comes to where the "drugs" were hidden, scenting before turning and alerting. He barks, until Sorcha calls out to him, hurrying towards him. Once Sorcha arrives, she gestures, and Hades digs out the drugs, dropping them into Sorcha's outstretched hand. "Good boy!" She had done this round with the drugs in a very good hiding spot, wanting to test how good Hades could track hidden drugs. She praises Hades again as she flips him a treat. Hades' tail wags as he snaps up the treat, before focusing back on his handler. Tilting his head as if asking, what's next? Sorcha laughs.

"I'll let you play in the snow a little, then we will go inside and see if there's anything to do." The snow had fallen, and covered a decent amount of the training area. Hades and Titan loved the snow, and at home, they often played in it. Thankfully, Sorcha was use to it, so she often stayed out in it. And although Sorcha had boots for Hades, he did not currently have them on, as Sorcha did not feel like he needed them. Hades was not shaking his paws, or tip-toeing around, or anything to suggest his paws were cold. Besides, they had not been outside for very long, and they were about to go inside.

Sorcha laughs as she watches Hades bound around in the snow, acting like a pup, as he flings the snow everywhere. That was going to be fun to clean up. She lets him play for five minutes, before calling him to her side. Sorcha rewards Hades another treat before swiping all the snow off of him, then leading him inside. She stands in the doorway, the door closing behind her as she shakes off the snow. "Come on." She mutters to Hades as she continues deeper into the station.

Ajax walked into the station with Nyx trotting at his heels. As they entered the heated building, they stopped for a moment to allow Nyx to shake off the snow flakes that had settled on her fur while they were training. She shook her pelt out, water droplets streaming from her thick fur as it hit the warm air. They had been outside for a while training, so a lot had accumulated in her fur. Ajax sometimes stopped to brush some of the snow off of her pelt, but it had built back up. Nyx didn’t seem bothered by the snow or the cold though. She didn’t seem very keen to jump around and roll in the snow and snap her jaws in the air to catch the snowflakes that drifted slowly towards the already covered ground either though. Not like he had seen a lot of the other dogs at the station do.

After Nyx had shaken herself thoroughly, and when she was mostly dry, they continued on walking down the hallways and corridors. Ajax turned the last corner to reach Chief Peterson’s office and crashed head on with Sorcha. Steadying the two of them but placing his hands on her shoulders, he quickly regained his balance.

“Sorcha! Ethan was looking for you. Chief Peterson needs us for something.” He informed her. “I don’t know what for, but it seems important.”

He led the way to Peterson’s office and rapped his knuckles on the door, listening for the ‘Come in’. Hearing it, he opened the door and held it open for Sorcha and their canines.

Sorcha hums to herself as she moves through the halls, headed more for the locker room. Her shift was going to end soon, and she was itching to get home. She had a book and a warm bath calling for her. Besides, she was missing Titan, she bet he was lonely, and itching to be outside. Hades trots along contently beside his handler, looking bored and alert all at the same time. Sorcha couldn't help but wonder where Ajax had gone.

They had split up after their patrol, but Sorcha hadn't seen hide nor hair of Ajax or Nyx. Although she never really told him when she was clocking out, she figured she better during the winter season. If ZPD had taught her anything, it always was worse during the winter season. Criminals seemed to think that the winter season was the best time to commit crimes. Which, all the snow and cold didn't help the cops. But, it didn't make it too much harder on them. The only thing that did, was the sudden increase in crimes.

As Sorcha turns the corner by Peterson's office, as well as some of the other offices, a shape fills her vision. Before she could stop or even see who it was, she collided with them. Sorcha grunts in surprise as the person steadies them. Ajax. It was Ajax. Sorcha takes a few steps back, listening as Ajax speaks. Ethan was looking for her? Peterson needed them? That was never a good sign, especially right as she was about to clock out. "Alright." She answers, before following Ajax into Peterson's office.

(No problem ^^)

Ajax entered the office after Sorcha and the dogs had passed though the doorway, closing the door behind them. He sat down next to Sorcha in one of the chairs that was put infront of Perterson’s desk, Nyx settling down next to him on his other side. “I believe you two are wondering what I want of you, and why I called you here.” Chief Peterson said, lacing his hands together and leaning forward on his desk. Ajax eyed him, nodding wearily. “Well, we…have a situation.” Peterson grumbled, tossing two folders towards the partners. Ajx caught his and flipped it over, seeing the name “Jamie Heathens” printed in big bold letters there.

“Missing persons report.” Ajax read, flipping through the report, each page he skimmed over mking him narrow his eyes and furrow his brow further and further. “Sex: female, Age: 14, Hight: 5’7. Black hair, pale skin, pale green eyes. Missing since December 2nd. It’s December 5th!” He said, glancing over to his partner and then back to the chief. “It’s taken this long to build up a report? Three days, three days that she could have been injured out in the freezing cold and snow?” He seethed. He hated when something this urgant came to him later than it should have.

“Scorcher, remember that to file a missing person report, the person in question has to be missing for at least 48 hours.” Peterson reminded him sharply. “That still leaves a whole 24 hours that could be vital to this girl’s survival.” He argued. Nyx gazed at him with her emerald eyes, her ears swiviling towards him as she heard her handler’s voice laced with anger. Peterson shook his head, leaning over his desk and flipping the file in Ajax’s hands to a page near the back. Tapping on the page, Peterson sat back down. “Interviews from Jamie’s little brothers. Her brothers are 8. Jamie was tasked with walking with them to and from school. It wasn’t a long walk, just past the park and the river and then they were back in the populated areas.

“When we asked them separately what happened during the walk, because Jamie’s teacher told us that she had taken her brothers and had started walking home. They told us the same thing: Jamie seemed worried and kept looking behind her, but when the boys tried to look at what Jamie was looking at, she stopped them. When they turned a corner, Jamie had led them to a small area behind something, a fence or a pile of logs, something along those lines, and told them to hide until she came back to get them. They waited until it started to get dark, and Jamie hadn’t come back. Like I said, it isn’t a long walk from the school to their house. The boys were found shorty after darkness fell, safe and unscathed, but with Jamie no where to be found. We have reason to believe that someone had followed Jamie and kidnapped her. We need to get her back.”

“And since the rest of the FHPD and canine teams and handlers are tied up with other missions and cases due to the uptick in winter crimes, you want us to find her.” Ajax finished, motioning between him and Sorcha.

Hoping that this would be quick, Sorcha takes a seat after muttering a quiet thank you to Ajax. A few seconds later, Ajax had sat down in the second chair, after closing the door. Hades sat down beside Sorcha, his ears pricked. Down, Sorcha gestures, and Hades lays down. Resting his head on his paws. "I believe you two are wondering what I want of you, and why I called you here." Sorcha simply nods, already knowing that this conversation was not going to be quick and simple. Something was wrong, incredibly wrong. Sorcha could just sense it.

"Well, we... have a situation."

Sorcha catches the folder as Peterson tosses it. Across the front was scrawed the name Jamie Heathens. Which meant, either a criminal they had to go chase, or a missing persons case. Sorcha opens it, finding her answer. Missing persons case. Sorcha's green eyes move across the report, flipping through the pages. Female, fourteen, 5'7, black hair, pale skin, pale green eyes, and missing since December second. And as Ajax just stated, it was the fifth. A fury of her own was starting to build, it was getting to the coldest parts of the season. The girl could be dead. And they had waited three days to get a file made up.

"Scorcher, remember that to file a missing person report, the person in question has to be missing for at least 48 hours." Sorcha cuts in,"Unless, there is a valid reason to suspect kidnapping." Her eyes narrow,"The first forty eight hours are vital to the kidnapped's survival, as the hours tick closer to seventy two, their likelyhood of survival lessens." Hades' head comes up, feeding off of his handler's mood, he lets out a growl. Sorcha gestures at Hades, silencing him, before returning her attention to Peterson. "Interviews from Jamie's little brothers." Sorcha flips to the the interviews. "Her brothers are 8. Jamie was tasked with walking them to and from school. It wasn't a long walk, just past the park and the river and then they were back in the populated areas."

Sorcha's lips thin, a good stretch for the girl to be kidnapped from. "When we asked them separately what happened during the walk, because Jamie's teacher told us that she had taken her brothers and had started walking home. They told us the same thing." Good at least the stories matched. "Jamie seemed worried and kept looking behind her, but when the boys tried to look at what Jamie was looking at, she stopped them. When they turned a corner, Jamie had led them to a small area behind something, a fence or a pile of logs, something along those lines, and told them to hide until she came back to get them. They waited until it started to get dark, and Jamie hadn't come back. Like I said, it isn't a long walk from the school to their house. The boys were found shortly after darkness fell, safe and unscathed, but with Jamie no where to be found. We have reason to believe that someone had followed Jamie and kidnapped her. We need to get her back."

Which, would be easier if not for a few factors. If it wasn't so cold, and if it hadn't been three days since her disappearance. Even the best tracking dogs would struggle to pick up a scent. Especially with the cold and the new snow that had fallen. There was little to no chance of tracking the girl from where she had last been seen. Sorcha's lips thin as she stares at Peterson. She wasn't turning the case down, but Peterson definitely could have gotten the report in faster, so they could have started faster.
