Pluto is classified as a Dwarf Planet: One; because although it is the largest of the dwarf planets, it is still considerably smaller than the smallest known planet Mercury. It is simply not large enough to be classified as a planet. Two; Pluto is crossing Neptune's orbital path and therefore violates the defenition of a planet. Three; It gets closer to the sun than Neptune at times. Again, Pluto is a celestial object defying the defenition of a planet, and is therefore a dwarf planet.

It has a holiday because it's an interesting thing. Most people know about it. Plus, it's not actually a national holiday. It's a public holiday. A fun made up holiday that wasn't declared a national holiday by the government.

No no I just found a text book and read it. It was explained very well so it wasn't difficult to understand. Your probably smarter at other things... didn't you say you were in medical school or something?
