Lidiya silently took in the exchange between Kodak and Kodu. It wasn't that she couldn't add her opinion, but... really, she just didn't want to. She just felt slightly lethargic. Which didn't make sense, because she just woke up, after all.
"I really don't mind. Whatever works, both are things we really need to do anyway." She paused briefly. "How about we just look around the territory a bit before deciding? See how much game there is, how big it truly is, and where the boundaries are. Then we'll make our decision based off that." It was rather rare that they got to choose what they were doing - usually they'd be assigned it at birth - but then, Kodu didn' know them, and could hardly assign them something when he had no idea what they were good at.
Another point in the favour of the alpha.
On the way down the slope, however, Nikolai came ambling up to them - somewhat excitedly, if Lidiya could read his posture. "Morning, you two. Sleep well?" Without waiting for them to reply, Nikolai continued his babble of word soup. "I was just about to go out on another patrol of the western border, I mean I saw you coming out of the Alpha's den, maybe he could post you on patrol too - " the words kept coming, " - but well I guess it's your decision right?" He said it almost as if the question had just occured to him.
Without leaving space for them to answer, he hurried on. "Well, whatever. I'm sure you'll find the right place for you eventually. Well, I'll be off for now, maybe see you in a bit!" The whirlwind of words and sound that Nikolai was essentially ran away with the force of a tornado, and Lidiya looked at Kodak with a slight knowing but amused look as Nikolai made his way out of the camp faster than was strictly necessary.
