| @Magnus I'd lose my mind seeing that. @Forest I'm thinking protection dog. Don't really care about how "intimidating" the alterations look, as long as the dog can do its necessary job. |

| Cropped and docked is the AKC standard for dobies in the US. That is one reason a lot of people get it done. |

| The only reason I can think of for people docking tails is if they have a cattle/herding dog and they don't want their tail to get stomped on, but that's honestly my best guess other than for cosmetic reasons |

| @Petri Dish I get cropping for working dogs and especially flock guardians because coyotes and other predators might go for the face and ears of your dog. Docking and cropping seem completely unnecessary otherwise, especially docking. |

| Kitten If you do it just make sure that the person that does it knows what theyre doing. So they don't butcher them. We had a schnauzer come in with freshly docked ears and they were horrible |
