Jack suddenly becomes such an avid supporter of dyeing hair just so he can what it'd look like when the roots come back lmao
The fourth image and the corner that has a ton of different colors in it. Still not too sure on what the second beads would be though, haha-
That song lyric thing was amazing and I feel so bad for Nico.
Here’s the information!

Navis, as one might’ve guessed, gave the rest of the pirates constellation nicknames too.
Spade got Baidam. Which is an alternative constellation to Ursa Major. It’s a shark constellation. Spade got a shark constellation due to the gambling term for a skilled/experienced card player.
Jinx got Lynx because cats are a bit of her, uhm, vibe? She’s got a luck based ability, slitted pupils like a cat, and a bit sharper canines compared to what she perhaps should have. She isn’t a shifter, but cats are so generally associated with luck that her ability did give her some features.
Phlox Aqua got Hydra. For probably obvious reasons of Hydra being the water serpent constellation and Aqua having an ability called Loch Ness Monster.
Flood got Crater, which is a constellation of a cup. Which can hold water. Kind of connected to Flood’s ability, kind of connected to how Flood is just as a person.
Now you may be asking, did Navis give a constellation nickname to Chips? Yeah. Yes. Pyxis. Which is a compass. And the name of an alter/headmate in the Chips Subsystem.
-
Flood, along with his patch of a wave on the back of his coat, has a patch of an anchor on one of the chest pockets.
-
Funnily enough-
Flood brought three people into the crew. Jinx, Phlox Aqua (who joined with Jinx, to be honest), and Spade.
Spade brought two people into the crew. Navis (as seen with the whole Loser, Baby thing haha) and Chips.
-
Related to the above is, uhm-
The pirates calling him Chips, as you hopefully guessed, does not refer to a chipping, nameless tombstone, or being chipped or broken or something of that nature.
It actually was in reference to poker chips. Because when Spade met him and ended up bringing him into the crew, the kid was trying to steal poker chips. For some reason.
-
Spade used to take him gambling, teaching him how to win and read faces and all that. All of the gamblers in the Chips Subsystem are probably because of Spade, I’m not going to lie.
-
Spade really just saw this tall, ginger child and was like, ‘ah, yes, a mini me.’
Remember, Spade is one of the tallest of the pirates and a ginger. The inner dad really showed up immediately. The fact Chips was stealing poker chips at the time totally helped lmao

Okay, so, not really about the pirates but some stuff about the Chips Subsystem. Because I find this hilarious.
Jack and Chips both like the song Half Jack by The Dresden Dolls. Jack likes it solely because it has his name in it. Chips likes it because he can make fun of Jack with it. It is on both the joke playlist Chips made and the playlist with The Crane Wives.
Now- Let me tell you this.
Jack is one of the few adult alters/headmates in the Chips Subsystem.
He is being bullied by Chips. Who is a little. Making fun of him using Half Jack and hiding his bracelet. And probably more, honestly. Jack is so tired of him. Vin, the gatekeeper for the Chips Subsystem, favors Chips.
There are literally only two to four adults in the Chips Subsystem. The two that are for sure adults are Vin and Jack. The other(s) could be Ante and/or Fray but I’m not too sure just yet.
Jack knows Vin favors Chips. He is literally so tired of these people. How dare they.
Also, Jack is maybe the closest to being an introject, specifically a factive, out of everyone in the system. He isn’t actually a factive but he does share a lot of traits and beliefs and whatnot with Spade. There’s also a lot that he doesn’t share with Spade though, so, you know.
-
The nicknames that ended up becoming names for alters/headmates in the Chips Subsystem are-
First the ones mostly used by Spade;
Club (as in the house/suite of clubs in a playing deck)
Clover (because clubs look like three leaf clovers)
Jack (from Blackjack or Jackpot or the playing card, take your pick)
Rail (a gambling term for watching a game instead of playing)
Ante (a gambling term for entering a game)
Chase (a gambling term for trying to win back money after losing)
Flash (a gambling term for when odds suddenly change)
Now the ones mostly used by Navis;
Pyxis (the compass constellation)
Pick (as in like, a guitar pick)
Vin (short for Garvin, also part of what was carved into the back of the neck of the 12 string banjo Navis gave him, the full carving is ‘Ler & Vin’)
Now the ones mostly used by the other three;
Patch (you know, like the patches, used by Flood)
Fray (like a fraying thread or clothes or whatnot, used by Flood)
Coin (you know, like a coin, used by both Jinx and Phlox)
And the ones used by everyone;
Chips (you know, like poker chips)
Chip (just a shorter version of Chips, because why not)

Now back to the pirates!
As I mentioned before, they’re the ones to really start the drinking and smoking habits.
Spade in particular gave him his first cigarette. Which Jinx had immediately taken away, only for them to find out that smoke manipulation is an ability the child has.
So, obviously, they give him a new one and smoking is a-okay for him to do.
-
All of the pirates have a way to remember Chips!
Navis, after having given his old one to Chips, ends up getting a new 12 string banjo and putting the Pyxis constellation on its head (which is what the round bit at the end of the banjo is called).
Flood has a patch on either sleeve of a poker chip near the wrist.
Spade has a tattoo of a jack of clubs card.
Phlox Aqua had Flood add a coin to the middle of their patch of aqua.
Jinx, meanwhile, elected to carve coins into some of her stuff. Like the handles of her cutlass and favorite dagger.
