*Starting out when everything starts going to shit in the group, actually. Just different conversations with Lucia as different members get kicked out.*
Garvin, to Lucia, around the time Kody gets kicked out; “Breathe in, breathe out, everybody scream ‘Fuck!’ I know I’ve gone too far this time… My friends— They say, “Don’t be afraid of death, he’s just your oldest friend coming back for what he forgot.” I hope I forget all these lies…”
Garvin, to Lucia, around the time Jusepe gets kicked out; “The books that I am reading are the ones that I’ve forgot, I tore out all of the pages along with my heart… And I spelled your name still with the letters from the letters that you wrote.”
Garvin, about Lucia; “And I spelled out your name still with the letters from the letters that you wrote…”
*And now just some conversations he had with Lucia during travels before she got kicked out.*
Garvin, rambling, half-asleep, most certainly at least slightly dissociating; “See this body? See this body? See this body’s not for me… And the way my bones are breaking is the way my skin will bleed…”
Garvin, a much more conscious conversation with Lucia, almost amused and definitely sarcastic; “So I put out my fists, and you mark both my hands, with little X’s that mean that I am extra unsafe.”
*And now we switch to basically right after Kody gets kicked out and how Garvin’s actually reacting to the things going on.*
Garvin, echoing a question Kody had asked him at one point and then answering; “‘Where did your spine go?’ I know, I’ve got none…”
Garvin, flexing his fingers and asking a question of his own to himself; “Is it your heart that breaks first… Or fragile bones?”
Garvin, asking Lucia the question Kody had asked him before, giving his own answer, and asking her his question, mostly just rambling again; “Where did your spine go? I know, I’ve got none… Is it your heart that breaks first? Or fragile bones?”
*And now we switch all the way back to before Lucia had joined. Remember the opening conversation on the swing set they had? Yeah. Same scene, different viewpoint. Yay, fun.*
Garvin, at first just watching Lucia, trying to decide whether or not to try and steal from her, trying to decide if she has anything to steal off of her; “And she is playing on the playground…”
Garvin, ending up just joining her on the swing set instead; “And she is playing on the swings…”
Garvin, listening to Lucia ramble and talk and rant; “She is learning words like ‘fuck’ and ‘hate’ and I know just what it means… It means she’s just like her mom, she’ll end up lonely and sad. She’ll end up alone with rings… With rings in her mouth, with guns in her house, with holes in her heart…”
Garvin, interrupting Lucia leaving, and deciding to at least offer a chance at trying to change that apparent fate; “Hey, wait…”
