What weird smell. I don't want any predator near. I don't need crazy stuff going on. It can happen when they split off in groups.

Probably just a smell of elk from upstream? Because I don't think people would give wolf dogs live elk in captivatiy

I put in the groups. That they won't be able to hunt elk or deer yet cause they are still lethargic. And to take down elk or deer they would need 4-5 wolfdogs at least.
