What if at some point (maybe once they reach Witlock island) Marina does try and pull a sword on Jude? I think it could be cool to maybe have a sword fight between them at some point, and maybe that's when he sort of starts to try and make some sort of bond with her. Because he sees her talent, skill, and sees that she has great potential, even if at the moment she hates him.

She just got kidnapped by pirates, I think she has every right to be just a wee bit angry at them XD

I'm really excited to see how their relationship plays out
