We were at Barns and Noble (my idea, we go there every time because the one in my grandparent's town is larger than the one in mine and I love it.). Now, in their Barns and Noble, there are two floors, one with a cafe and small shop and the other with a whole lot of books (the whole reason I wanted to go was to get books, I'm a huge nerd XD), and there are two ways to get to the top floor. An elevator or an escalator.

I am terrified of escalators. I don't have a specific reason to be (or, I didn't until this happened), but for some reason, I always have been.

So picture this, we were on the top floor (yes, I made it up.), and I was trying to convince everyone to go on the elevator without any luck because my whole family loves escalators.

In one hand I held a half-full cup of coffee from the cafe, and in the other, I held a bag of new books.

Now, the thing you need to know about me is that when I get scared I freeze, I can't move, I can't speak, nothing. I just freeze.

So my Aunt and siblings were already halfway down the escalator so I knew I had to go.

I put one foot on and froze.

Obviously, the escalator kept moving, so I had one foot on and one foot off and I just stood there while the freaking machine pulled my inflexible body into the splits. My grandma and mother just stood there, really, really confused for a moment, then they started laughing and my mom pushed me onto the escalator.

I sliced my ankle and couldn't really walk on it for two days, but other than that I was fine.

Looking back on it it's hilarious, I don't even know how I managed XD

The most traumatizing part of all of this though was not the fact that the store caught it on camera, or that I hurt my ankle, or that my family still teases me about it. The worst part?

It was still half full and it had caramel in it too :'(

I used to be terrified of elevators or lifts (I think you call them escalators, so many words for the same thing eeee) after an incident when I was younger, so I totally get that aha. I took the stairs until I was maybe 11

probably the closest I've had is the taco stuffing or whatever on a wrap, but not a special wrap, just a wrap aha ^^'
