SAND DOLLARS IS ACTUALLY SO GENUIS how did i forget about those. maybe they just have an unnecessary amount of currency options depending on ocean region and value i guess. i'll have to flesh it out more but it could be like sea glass = 10 USD (or value depends on color) sand dollar = 1 USD cowrie shell = 1 quarter shark tooth = 1 dime etc etc Also yeah sea monsters is a neat idea. i'll have to ponder lore for that more but i think Leviathan being conquered and the scales being put to use is good - i also agree with the jewelry being a sign of status. especially because it's probably not easy to smelt metals and such when you live underwater, so jewelry is usually a gift from irresponsible people on the surface.

i imagine tattoos as being slightly more upper class. it could make nobles look flashier and possibly carry some meaning, like what kingdom/family they come from and the like |

(If allowed) I MIGHT make another character (This RP has made me dive deep into mermaids/aquatic fascination) since I have an idea for a character. It would be a guard/knight sorta to protect the nobles if that's allowed? Or to monitor the different class levels whatever. I might get her out tomorrow and just work on it tonight (Don't want to reserve her yet because the next few days are supposed to be busy for me lol) - Anyway, Talon defo going to try and show Raf what pufferfish can do |

We sure got a lot of ideas! I love everything I've heard so far. I imagine that they would have thinks like sealskins for whenever they're going deeper in the ocean, because it's colder there. Like a winter coat for merpeople. I definitely think that the castle, being so ancient, could be made of coral. Since us humans can actually guide the growth of coral, I'm sure merpeople can do it much better. Perhaps it requires constant trimming from coral buildup, which is part of what the servants do. It could also make good use of vertical space, since merpeople aren't constrained by gravity. I had included human plastic, trinkets, and computer parts as treasures and baubles for Raf. Since the mermaids don't really know what this is, maybe they're considered rare and valuable? I love the idea of sea creatures being part of it. Maybe other schools of mermaids far off that they're only heard legends of, too - beautiful ones with enchanting voices, ones who are part seal and can walk on land, stuff like that. Pufferfish are only known to get dolphins "high." But merpeople, being part humn, have surely found just the right dosage to do the sae thing for them. I imagine it would be a very dangerous substance, though. |

I'll allow that honestly pretty much anything goes, i'm not too picky - building on the human trinkets specifically, i think it would be humorous if almost every mermaid kingdom had at least one citizen with a Garfield phone in their house (from that shipwreck near France many years ago). like a rare collectible. - rip to every pufferfish mermaid in this world |

unrelated but just so everyone knows, i think the RP can begin once all the reserved and WIP forms are completed and the behind the scenes plotting is fleshed out to a point where those involved are all happy with it. i'm aiming for maybe the end of this week or at some point next week |
