An adoptable is art. :)

They are characters you own that you make up personalities for and give names. You can by art of your characters. Some people are allowed to pick the gender of them. Some shops are interactive, (such as https://wolfplaygame.com/forums.php?f=6&t=49282) and some arent, (such as https://wolfplaygame.com/forums.php?f=6&t=49707).

So basically they are character you own :)
