Name: Ataeia Sigebryght
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Demisexual
Appearance:
Ataeia stands out a bit more than she'd like to. Having oculocutaneous albinism, her skin is stark pale, almost white, and her hair is even lighter at a platinum blonde that could probably be described as actually white. Thick white lashes frame pale blue eyes, almost appearing a pale lavender with their violet tinge. Her expression is often shielded by thick, fluffy white hair, falling in her face despite her attempts to tie it back into a ponytail, often causing her to have to brush it out of her face. Thin, arched eyebrows only noticeable due to the fact they're paler than her face often take a furrowed position, pairing up with the remarkably dark eyebags underneath her eyes to make her look permanently tired and frustrated.
Of course, she has other traits that stand out, too. The most noticeable after her remarkable paleness would probably be her height, standing at 6'0, 6'2 added with the heels on her boots. She's built thinly, mostly; not necessarily lanky, though, as she doesn't really have the gangliness for that. She's more so along the lines of lithe, built with a pretty great amount of muscle. Her abs are defined and her arms and legs are noticeably well-built, and while she isn't particularly bulky, she sure is muscular enough to evoke a sense of fear when she gets pissed. She has an average bust and slender, sharp features, and her more intense expressions could probably burn a hole through metal. Her lips are dry and chapped, her nails are chipped, and added to her thick eyebags, she's evidently in rough shape. Underneath that, though, there's still a fairly pretty face.
Ataeia generally tries to keep as much skin covered as possible, partially out of insecurity and partially to lessen her chances of getting a sunburn due to her paleness. As such, she usually dons a beige overcoat that ends a bit below her knees, trailing out behind her whenever she walks. Paired with the black gloves she usually wears, it works to cover her pretty damn well. Underneath it, she wears a basic black t-shirt, as she isn't really all that fashionable (she just wears whatever is most convenient to her at the moment). Her pants are dark denim, held up with a belt, and she has a duffle bag without much in it for this trip in particular. She wears a pair of boots with a 2-inch heel (she always liked heels and she finds them useful for climbing, anyway), and she has a sun hat stored away in her bag for especially sunny days.
Personality:
Ataeia is a good person. That's what she tells herself, and that's what she tries to be. She has a goal in mind and it's to protect as many people as she can, to save everyone she comes across who needs her help, to heal the wounded. She'd do just about anything in order to achieve that, and if anyone dies on her watch, she'll blame herself the most no matter the situation.
With that description, you'd expect her to be a pretty nice person, right?
Haha. No.
It's not like Ataeia is a rude one, per se. She's just, ah... bitter. She has a level of bitterness to everything she does, really; her words tend to have a bite of acid to him, she usually seems just a little bit pissed off, if anybody does anything even slightly stupid she will stare them down with a withering, unrelenting rage. Her patience is remarkably thin at all times, yet never seems to wear out -- she's always at a point where she's just barely tolerating every terrible, dumb thing that happens to her, at a point where it seems one more little thing could be the thing to make her snap, yet it never really does. She is very tolerant, in that sense, able to willfully protect even the most obnoxious people, not that she'll be happy about it.
Another good way to describe her would be "tired". Tired's probably one of the best words you could use, honestly -- she's been through a shit-ton with her dead-end job and life, and she's always usually the one to keep the people around her out of trouble due to her nature. That applies in the sense that she keeps others out of danger, of course, but she tries to keep them in line, too. That's where her maternal (or perhaps sisterly) traits kick in; she's usually the one to keep others out of mischief or from doing stupid things. She has a pretty deep hatred of bullshit from years of working in customer service, so she'll usually be the one to hold someone else back by the arms if they're about to do something they'll regret. It's partially out of a level of responsibility she feels for the people around her, too, weighing down on her shoulders like a bag of bricks and adding to the tiredness she carries with her day by day.
Maybe it makes sense, then, while Ataeia is so bitter. She isn't entirely abrasive, though -- she doesn't really even hate people. She doesn't trust incredibly easily, used to having to be the one trust is placed in, but when she does, it comes with a sort of relief. Yes, she's eager to be able to trust people, really. When she knows the people around her can share her burden, she's far happier. Certainly not bubbly, and not soft in any capacity, really, but she'll be a little bit looser, a little more willing to joke and laugh and share a moment. Her moments where she's able to relax are few and far in between, but she'd be happy to be able to have one with a friend.
She's kind in many a sense, among people she can trust. Even among those she can't trust, there'll be moments where her friendlier traits shine through. She's more than willing to listen to people's emotions and feelings, and generally, to listen to them. She's not incredibly emotionally available, herself, being someone to never let anyone else know how she feels due to the fact she feels being someone else's responsibility at any point in time is a crime, but she'll usually be able to see when something or someone is fucked up and point it out. She's pretty good at pointing out issues, or places where there is room for improvement, which makes her a surprisingly good source for advice. She'd be willing to give it to anyone who asks her for it, really -- while she'd never be willing to do anything that would compromise herself or other people, she'd be more than willing to give advice to even the people she despises most, as a part of the ideals she holds herself to.
At her core, though, Ataeia is desperate for an excuse to be alive.
Strengths:
+ Listener :: Ataeia is pretty good at lending an ear to the people around ber if need be, and thanks to her grounded nature, she's pretty good at giving advice, too. +
+ Strong :: Ataeia is incredibly strong, both physically and mentally. She can take quite a hit and deal one, too. +
+ Restraint :: Despite the fact that she certainly doesn't seem like it, Ataeia's incredibly good at biting her tongue and taking it. She can deal with incredibly annoying people and orders, even if only barely. +
Weaknesses:
- Easily Frustrated :: Ataeia has quite a lot of rage inside her. She gets frustrated with things pretty easily, and while she's not really one to give up, it sure is easy to make her start complaining or yelling. -
- Depressed :: Due to the extremely recent loss of her brother, Ataeia is not doing well right now. Added to the hopelessness of her life catching up with her, she's in an extremely not-good place right now. -
- Repressed :: She represses her emotions and refuses to let other people help her. Obviously, not ideal. -
- Poor Vision :: Her eyesight isn't incredibly good due to her albinism. She has contact lenses to help, but it's still pretty bad. -

Sometimes she looks up and wonders why such a terrible concept was ever created, whether it was created to spite her, a taker of all, and a terrible temptress that forever looms in the corner of her vision in the form of awful memories and rotting corpses, living or unmoving. She hates death. -

Brief Backstory: Ataeia was born to a single mother, for one reason or another. She was never told where her father was, nor did she particularly care; all she knew is that he sure as hell wasn't away because he died, and she couldn't care less about what other reason he might have for not being in their lives.
Her relationship with her mother was rocky, to say the least. She worked hard to support her, and soon, when Ataeia turned 12, her brother. She spent most of her time working to support the family, really. Ataeia was never quite sure why, not when, when she came home, she always seemed so tired and distant. She did everything for the sake of them, and yet she seemed convinced that her children wouldn't end up going far, even in her moments of gentleness.
Ataeia, however, thought otherwise. Not regarding herself, no, not at all; to her, it was her bright little brother that deserved the world. He was smart and kind, and she knew he'd go farther than all of them.
When she was 18, almost 19, her mother died. Ataeia took legal guardianship of her little brother and they lived together in the apartment that their mother died in. She didn't go to college, instead taking up odd jobs here and there and a more steady but objectively worse customer service job, taking care of her brother when she was home. She didn't have the qualifications to go for other jobs, and they lived from paycheck to paycheck, but it was fine. They loved each other and Ataeia supported her brother with everything she had. She lived for her brother, even. All she wanted is to give this boy the love and support he needed, to get him to college and get him to the bright future he deserved. That was all she wanted, and she was happy with it.
Her brother died a few days ago.
At the moment, Ataeia is on her way to Europe to finish up some business with one of her younger brother's friends.
