Thoughts on the Truce

Admittedly, Illa isn’t very trusting of authority, or their capacity to successfully conduct diplomacy, so she’s not particularly optimistic about the truce. But, she doesn’t have the power to actually do anything about it, so she’s along for the ride for now.

Appearance

(I have commissioned artwork of this girlie in the past but I don’t actually know what the rules are around sharing art that I didn’t create myself so that’ll have to wait ‘til I figure that out.)

Illa doesn't look particularly physically imposing. Standing at all of 5'1", with a soft, curvaceous build that doesn't show much muscle tone, and big, ink-dark doe eyes, she looks deceptively innocent. But, the way the slightly crooked shape of her lips creates a perpetual smirk, the glimmer of mischief in her eyes, and the strange, silent way she moves serve as subtle indicators of her true capabilities.

Her face is a diamond shape, with high cheekbones, a small forehead, and a sharp jawline and chin. She has heavily freckled, copper-tan skin, smooth and soft save for the scars that sporadically mark her body and cut through the left side of her mouth, which has a round shape and a fuller bottom lip than top. Her eyes are massive, easily her most captivating feature, round and upturned, and a honey-gold color.

Her hair is waist-length, so thick and full that it's difficult to keep in most updos, and naturally falls into large ringlet curls. It is a bright coral color, just between orange and pink, almost like a very pigmented rose gold. Long lashes frame her eyes, which, like her full, arched brows, are a slightly deeper shade than her hair, closer to a russet hue.

Most of her expressions hold a perpetual air of innocent mischief, almost catlike. Her smiles are crooked, revealing a gap between her front two teeth and a pair of slightly overlong canines. Her eyes are calculating, always moving and judging and thoughtful. When she is moving, which she almost always is, her steps are a graceful yet careless dance, nonchalant despite a practiced agility. She habitually bites her bottom lip, particularly when she is up to no good, and always seems to be smiling, giggling, and moving. On most pretty young women, this might read as bubbly, but something about her energy is far too foreboding to be bubbly.

Her body type is a pear shape, with narrow shoulders and wide hips. Her limbs are long, with slender arms, hands, and fingers, and thick legs. Much of her clothing is chosen to emphasize her figure, with a preference towards black and red fabrics, and a love of floral lace. Her accessories are almost exclusively gold, and typically follow a similar dainty floral theme to her clothing.

Personality

On the surface, Illa has a surprisingly playful and energetic personality for the grim circumstances she and her people are facing. Outgoing, mischievous, and gregarious, she appears to be quite friendly. Yet, there is something strange about the way she chatters with anyone. She makes many friends, but few of them could list many things they know about her. She dodges questions skillfully, teases and flirts and keeps the attention of her companions on lighter topics. Perhaps she is simply shallow, but her strangely perceptive insights make the label feel ill-fitting. She rarely seems to take any topics seriously, dismissing them with snarky comments and jokes, but putting her in front of a particularly emotional person is perhaps the only way to make her seem genuinely uncomfortable. In fact, she is so overflowing with confidence, that she'll face down nearly any threat without so much as flinching. Even when she should.

She can be a bit intense, bordering on exhausting, with her seemingly endless passion and energy. She loves an adventure of any kind, be it exploring a new city, studying some rare creature or plant, or indulging in one of her various hobbies. With her tendency to drag her new friends on these adventures, willing or otherwise, she isn't the greatest of friends. But, time with her is nothing if not interesting.

Despite being highly impulsive, Illa is shockingly intelligent. Her knowledge base can be most easily compared to a well; she specializes in a few select areas, but knows the topics inside and out, and knows how to use that knowledge to her advantage. Other areas of information and most life skills are...less than stellar. But, with her intellect and tendency to heavily fixate on things that interest her to the point of forgetting everything else, she picks up new information relatively easily.

One of said interests she has fixated on is art. She is quite creative, and loves to paint, draw, and engage in other visual forms of art. She tends to try out new mediums regularly, but has only found a talent and developed a skill for painting and drawing.

Those rare few people who can get through all of her arrogant bravado, boisterous energy, and tendency to curb all questions will find a surprisingly loving personality. Though she's not the greatest with emotions, she is incredibly loyal, and ride-or-die to a fault with those who earn her trust. It's not an easy task, but those who complete it will receive lots of handmade gifts, affectionate teasing, and a very, very protective pyromancer. She holds her true friends close for life, and would do anything for them.

Abilities

Fire creation and manipulation, and immunity to fire

Strengths

Illa’s strengths lie in her intelligence, agility, speed, and creativity, and she is quite talented with art, alchemy, and, ironically for her fiery nature, plants.

Weaknesses

Illa’s arrogance, impulsivity, hot-headedness, and low empathy tend to create problems for her. Additionally, she is not very strong, nor can she take many hits in a fight, and is extremely easily distracted.

Affiliations

Illa doesn’t ally herself any closer than she needs to with her court, but maintains a close relationship with her parents and siblings.

Other

Though raised and trained as a scout, Illa is developing a keen interest in studying the nature of these monsters and, eventually, hunting them down. Although she believes current circumstances override old grudges, she quietly nurtures one towards one of the High Fae.

☬Thoughts on the Truce☬

He thinks it's the most atrocious things he's ever heard of. The war brought suffering and pain, much to his delight. Given the option, (or not, regardless) he'll do anything he can to make things go back to how they were.

☬Appearance☬

Delkarhn is a terrifying creation of horror, death and despair. From his cold, void-like eyes to his many sets of ferocious teeth, he certainly lives up to his species name. Delkarhn is a beast, standing at around 15 feet tall, and 28 feet long. He does NOT possess wings. His scales are incredibly dense despite their smaller size, giving him an almost scale-less or skin covered look.

Between scales he often secretes a slime-like mucus which carries a very potent metallic scent. The scent itself while closely resembling the smell of blood is not actually the same warm red liquid, and is often used to instill fear into individuals.

This slimes primary use is to disorient and panic prey, however it can also be used to help him slide through tight spaces whilst limiting damage to his scales, much like oil to a stuck arm. It is INCREDIBLY flammable.

Delkarhn is a cave dweller, meaning he is equipped with heavily muscled limbs and nasty claws made for wearing and tearing anything he can get his hands on, both rocks or living things. His back legs are much thicker than his front ones. Due to this, his front arms are much more maneuverable and make for easy tunneling, attacking and even throwing on occasion. Above ground, his claws make the easiest work of trees. Tree bark is perfectly soft for him to grip and climb up. Same with mountainous terrains and other steep inclines.

His tail is almost 12 feet long, holding a significant amount of weight despite the thinner shape of it. Two spikes protrude from the sides of his tail, usually used for scratching marks along tunnels and cave walls as directional markers so he doesn't get lost within his own labrynths.

Ashen colored fur surrounds his neck, back and tail tip. This fur is incredibly thick, mainly acting as a regulator to keep his body warm within the grounds depths. His mane works both as protection against attacks and also as a very neat pillow.

Within his jaws, Delkarhn sports three sets of teeth. One in the normal spot of his jaw, one within his gums protruding inwards and a third around the entrance to his throat. These teeth all grow at differing lengths and directions, making his bite vicious, nasty, and incredibly hard to escape from without suffering permanent damage. These teeth have special glands within his gums that store a paralyzing venom which gradually slow and eventually paralyze prey. The venom is non-lethal and wears off after the preys body can work the venom out of its system.

Delkarhn has six eyes, three on both sides of his face. These eyes have a black sclera, with his pupils appearing as small white dots. As a cave dweller, his eyes don't need as much light to see and navigate. As a result, he is blind as a bat in daylight, or any semi lit areas.

His main torso is another terrifying aspect of this living Nightmare. His ribs are completely exposed, with a barely contained black ooze which he can manipulate into extra limbs at will. The ooze carries the same metallic scent as the mucus he secretes. These limbs/tentacles more or less are used in a similar way to a cats whiskers. He uses them to find small crevices and even to grip and carry certain things, while also feeling around cave walls to find his way without walking straight into a wall.

Upon his head he has three pairs of horns in which two sets are covered in spikes. These horns are mostly used for headbutting and ramming hard surfaces when his claws cant finish the job. Most of the time, Delkarhn gets rock and dirt debris stuck within the spikes and is unable to dislodge such filth due to the size of his claws making it impossible to reach in the spots.

☬Personality☬

Delkarhn is a nasty piece of work. After the truce was announced, the news was enough to drag him from the winding depths of his horror filled cave. He lives for the horror, fear and despair that war brings, finding joy in the death and suffering of others. Even with his home placement, he finds ways to trick and deceive, spreading lies, talking empty promises of change and power to lure prey to his cave.

Despite his trouble making, there's no denying that even if he's the world's biggest asshole without a care for life, he is incredibly cunning and intelligent. He found dragons and fae alike seemed to find interest in valuables, and soon learned to line the entrances of his cave with such treasures to lure those foolish enough to follow to their demise.

Delkarhn doesn't care about sides. All he cares is his survival. Fae, dragons, creatures of the woods, it's all the same to him. He will always do or say what he can to best suit himself and his needs.

On that note. He is the most TRAITOROUS BI- Delkarhn feels next to no connection to anything nor anyone. He is unable to feel guilt or remorse, even if he's caught and called out on his actions or behavior.

Delkarhn is blunt with his words, refusing to waste the time and energy sugarcoating anything that isn't guaranteed to grant him a meal from the person he's talking to.

In short. Delkarhn is the great deceiver. And no matter what it takes, he'll do everything in his power to destroy the truce and revert back to the war.

☬Abilities☬

Shadow Dive - By covering his body in shadows (either a person's or even shade from trees, any shadow works) Delkarhn can submerge himself within it. Once inside, he can use the shadows to travel from one to another, essentially fast travelling. This shadowed state also works like a recharge for him for his energy and other ability.

Night-Terror - Allows Delkarhn to influence people's negative emotions into visual/verbal nightmares or hallucinations. Most times they portray a person's worst fear or top source of hate and anger.

(EX: A hallucination caused by him might whisper words in one's voice to another person, such as their closest friend whispering about how horrible they truly think the other is.)

☬Strengths☬

Night Vision - Due to Delkarhns origins and species, his eyes have naturally adapted to be better suited at seeing in dark spaces or at night. He has almost clear visuals in the dark.

Extended Touch - Using his black ooze inners, Delkarhn can use his extra limbs/tentacles to feel around spaces for anything out of the ordinary and help him to navigate spaces when eye sight is completely off the board much like a cat uses it's whiskers.

Broad Limbs - Delkarhns muscular limbs make digging and climbing a breeze. He's an ambush predator, so he's easily able to scale mountain sides or trees to find perches to lay in wait.

☬Weaknesses☬

Light Sensitivity - Due to Delkarhns adjusted night-time vision, he is essentially rendered useless in broad daylight or semi lit areas. Bright lights cause him to grow agitated and disoriented, much as one would feel after staring straight into the sun.

Flammable - The black ooze and mucus that Delkarhn manipulates and secretes is INCREDIBLY flammable. The smallest spark will take to the substances almost instantly like gasoline. Due to this, he thoroughly and actively avoids any and all sources of heat or flames.

Heavyweight - Delkarhns thicker, bulkier build makes him much slower when it comes to movement. He heavily relies on the element of fear and surprise to catch his prey, and often avoids fast moving creatures as his weight keeps him from reaching any fast speeds.

Solitude - Delkarhn is the furtherest being from a team player. He's a deceiver, and those who don't know already find demise shortly after. Those who do know generally keep away. He works alone, on his own, for his own. Teamwork is something he considers extremely reluctantly (mostly after convincing. Whether appealing or threatening on his very existence.)

Flightless - Delkarhn does not possess wings, due to his build and habitat being underground where flying is almost impossible. He makes up for his lack in flight by being able to climb walls and other surfaces with ease. Including ceilings.

Thoughts on the Truce:

Good business opportunity, war pays but so does the possibility of new trade relations. It doesn’t hurt that working alongside dragons could provide insights that may be hard to find through battle and espionage alone.

Appearance

Tourmaline falls on the shorter side of the Fae spectrum, standing around 5 '6, with a lean build, she has a thin, golden-furred tail not dissimilar from a lions. Her face is sharp, with prominent cheekbones and a clearly defined slope to her nose; the sharpness of her profile are combated by her generally jovial appearance. Her features, while distinguishable as being of the earth court, aren’t the most glaring representation of her heritage. Tourmaline’s sun-kissed skin is mottled with a deep green tinge, almost mossy in nature, the tinge darkening along her ears, fingertips, and feet. Her long, dirty blonde hair has just the slightest tinges of green at the roots, visible only in certain lights. At the top of her face rests two small, vibrantly coloured horns, though at times she can be found with dirt rubbed into them to hide the bright blue-green when on certain scouting missions. Her eyes are a similar vibrant green to her horns, with specks of magenta thrown through them, and strange smeared pupils. Tourmaline is one of the many fae who takes great pride in her appearance, fussing over her shirts and dresses to make sure that her tattoos poke out just so. While on missions, her focus may change but her intention remains the same, trading her stalwart care of her various outfits for a near fanatic care for her weaponry and armour (at times this has spread to her companions belongings and the camps she’s stayed in as well)

Personality

Tourmaline’s personality isn’t one that would be expected of a scout, she is generally a bright, friendly individual. Her nature is naturally curious, something that has driven her to places she should not have gone as well as some others she has come to be very glad to have seen. These traits have combined to create someone who excels in the family business: merchandising and (occasional, under the table, totally not a common thing) spying. While Tourmaline can be a bit air-headed, she plays it up, enjoying both the harmless lie and the way it causes people to dismiss her just a little bit faster than they would otherwise. Much of Tourmaline’s personality in fact is played up: a remnant from her family's way of life, and her upbringing. When she finally opens up, she can be found to be much quieter and more intent than she initially comes across. As much as she may talk, Tourmaline tries her hardest to listen to what each person around her says, whether through sincerity or through looking for any edge over them.

Abilities

Sense of The Forest: A passive ability, Tourmaline has a strong grasp over the breath of the forest, so to speak. Passively she is more “alert” within the forest, sensing disturbances or the location of allies for example. When she focuses in she can (with relative accuracy) pinpoint what she is looking for within a certain radius.

Hidden Respite: The ability to blend into her surroundings, whether this be sinking back into the bark of a tree, or the embrace of the earth. To a certain extent she can include allies in this ability, but her ability grows weaker depending on her surroundings: less foliage, unhealthy/dense soil, the further the distance between her and her ally, these things all make it harder for her to use her ability/use more power. She can control the amount of power she uses, sometimes doing nothing more than blending into the bushes to a wandering eye rather than truly seeping into them.

Strengths

Her charismatic nature, it’s easy to trust her, or at the very least overlook her.

Her experience working for her family: after years of witnessing merchandise related discussions and partaking in many herself she has a sense for when someone is lying: or at the very least upselling something.

Her familial relations, though she takes care to not boast of her family or speak of them too much, it’s difficult to not know of either her family or their company.

Weaknesses

Her inability to truly trust most others

Her physical strength: while not that bad, it’s one of the reasons she has regulated herself to scouting

A lack of real battle experience: she has spent much of the war either working with her family or doing scouting, while she has trained and sparred with others she has faced very, very few real battles.

Suspicious of it, but if her leader’s are on board she wont actively voice any complaints.

Appearance

A tall, sleek dragon, Avyr fits the image of a warrior less than she does a scout. With smokey grey scales and near-black wings, she can blend into the darkness with ease; it’s only through the shiny white crisscrossing of her markings across her body that allow ease of view in the evening light. These markings stretch from snout to tail-tip, fading into darkness as they stretch up her wings and down to her clawed feet. Though difficult to see under in the daylight, the undersides of her wings glimmer just slightly in the evening when exposed to dragon-fire or torchlight. Her eyes are a soft grey colour, almost milky-blind looking if not for the sharp line of her dark pupil though the near-haze. She has two long, slightly curved horns, with the tip of her left one slightly shorter and jagged from an old injury. On the note of injuries and such, where Avyr’s appearance is stunning on the best of days, she often lets her scales fall into a lacklustre state, keeping herself clean merely for hygienic reasons but still occasionally failing at that. She has largely managed to keep herself scar-free even after her many years of battle, with the exceptions of a couple missing or marred scales along her flank, and a singular ropey scar on her right shoulder: the black of her skin bumpy with warped scales growing haphazardly along the wound.

Personality

Avyr would be the first to say that she isn’t the biggest personality around, or rather she’d be the first to think it. To Avyr, her job is to listen, and follow the orders she’s been given, she doesn’t need a big personality for that. While there isn’t a great big softie hiding under her hard exterior, she does possess hidden depths. As of yet, her loyalty has been solely to her nation and whoever’s command she may lie under, however should this shift: someone or something new falling under her umbrella of what she finds herself loyal to, she would go to any lengths for their sake. Of her secret pleasures, Avyr enjoys flying in the evening simply for the sake of it, as well as watching the small animals of the world. She has a great interest with little birds, even if she would never say so outright, and can be found (on rare occasions) posed so still that songbirds and the like alight on her horns.

Abilities

Darkness: Avyr is able to exhale a kind of thick, black smoke that sweeps across a battlefield with ease. Her abilities allow her to have some modicum of control over where this goes, as well as sight within it. She is known among her fellow warriors for her crowd control abilities, allowing them to blast fire onto the confused opponents or sneak upon them in battle.

Breath Steal: Within her smoke, she can sense where each creature is by the way they displace the smoke. In this smoke (though only to a few individuals at a time, and this reduces the size of her smoke as well) she is able to pull the breath from them. On the battlefield this is mainly used to set up enemies to be taken down, as when she uses it on multiple individuals she can only steal so much air. When facing air fae or other dragons her ability is greatly reduced and often can only be focused on that individual.

Strengths

Physical strength: Even if she may not be as “bulky” as some of the other warriors, she is still quite strong after years of fighting.

Her willpower: Even if she isn’t the wisest of the dragons, it’s hard to sway or trick her into something, though some may label this as stubbornness instead.

Experiences on the battlefield

Weaknesses

Her stubbornness: As said above, while her willpower can aid her, she can push it too far, resisting assistance that is intended to help her.

Blind loyalty to her “commanders”: The perfect little soldier, if her leaders said jump she’d ask how high.

Her social skills: Being on the battlefield doesn’t leave room for niceties.

Sensitivity in the daylight: With bright eyes meant for seeing through even the blackest of nights, this leaves her sensitive to the daylight. Her darkness abilities aren’t just a boon on the battlefield, they act as a shield from the light (and a crutch, for when she is without them and exposed to that blinding sun, she has floundered.)
