Adaline shook her head lightly as she sat down beside the bed again. She ran a hand through her hair after setting down the candle and having lit the fireplace just to warm everything up some. She brought her mothers shawl over her legs and curled up a little once more but she looked worried for him.

"Its fine, I just was worried." She tilted her head a little while watching him. "I understand." She offered a soon polite smile. "Do...you want to talk about it? Or want me to stay up with you?" She asked, her voice soft and caring. She was truly worried about him, willing to stay up and watch over him if need be while scoothing her chair closer while sighing lightly.

James H. Swift / male / 23 / November 23, 1866 / bedroom

Adaline tilted her head to the side, watching James intently as she spoke. Her soft voice lulled him, reminding him of the sea upon rocks he'd grown up with. She moved closer after a time, and her offer to stay with him brought fresh tears to his eyes. This, James knew, was what a home and family should be like.

"Thank you," he said, unable to find other words; none seemed to fit the moment.

Shifting carefully, he moved onto his side so he might both lay down and see her better. Having endured worse pain then the dull ache where his leg had been, he did not find the position uncomfortable. Many things in life could be weathered beside a warm fire, and this night James met to put this to the test.

"What's your family like?" He asked, genuinely curious.

Sweethearts, where the preferred topic among men at war, but James had offen found hat in the end blood, meant more. Not always a good thing, as he'd leaned the hard way.

Adaline offered a kind smile, one visible within the glow from the fire some while she lept her head tilted. The way he was turned and the angle of the fire disabled her from really seeing his face well, bit she was fine with that. She just didn't wish for him to feel alone left woth night terrors and nightmares haunting him which they seemed to.

"My family?" The question rather caught Adaline off guard, but she soon nodded and laughed softly. "Well...they all work hard, while I have me bout' two brothers who are...I would say very protective at times." She didn't mention her sister, for now avoiding such topic and keeping her mind caught up on describing the happier parts. "My ma and pa are real nice people, love to help people and real friendly when not provoked. Honestly my entire family is like that except for my aunt....she's..lot less friendly." She laughed once more, a soft and short one while her hand ran through her hair. "They've always taught me how to handle on my own...well for te' most part. In short...my family appreciates hardworking, we try to be as honest as can be, helpful...we keep family close. Everyone does their share and theres no problem."

"My aunt judges me for refusing to marry me some silly man, I keep telling her I do jist fine by myself, but my aints more of the...odd side of my family. Otherwise everyones great...and the whole town is...kind of one big family. You'll see." Adaline brightened her smile, pretty determined that they'd get him up and moving around the town eventually.

Thats fair! I will likely use a new character who, I think you may find her an absolute opposite than Adaline (its essentially Adaline remodeled lol) . Yeah an OOC co versatile is perfectly fine! Do we wanna have it in pms? For the OOC convo? Will we also be using the same thread for the rp?
