Makena|f|fox|M: Kimulimuli, Frost, Mist and Flame
She knew Frost was only trying to confort her, but the nuzzle reminded her of when she had lost her family. She only escaped with a skin on her teeth, and her big brother. He nuzzled her almost exactly like Frost did. No- im able to fight now. Ill keep Muli alive if it's the last thing i do. Makena thought with determination. She had to keep Muli alive, and that meant getting there as soon as possible. "It's Icicle's old den, so if we somehow get separated, just get Muli to safety. Just dont even worry about me." Makena said, her voice serious.
.
With that said Makena jumped into a tree and ran in the direction of Muli. She didn't even bother to look back to see if they were keeping up. Even without their help, she was going to fight for Muli, so she honestly didn't care. Looking back would just slow her down. On the way there she let herself remember when they first met. It all started when she fell out of a tree, and onto a flirt of a fox. As they were nearing the den, Makena began to feel how tired she was. *Maybe i should've listened to Muli....But it dosent matter right now, i need to get him to safety. She was panting as she landed outside of the den, trying to cool herself. Still panting she crawled into the den to find Muli in tears.
.
Her serious face softened when she saw her fearful friend. He was scared, and she took so long to get back. "Im here, and so is help." Makena said, nuzzling him. "I promise everything is going to be alright as long as i have anything to say about it." When she heard her backup team outside of the den she crawled back out. "Whats the plan? What do you want me to do?" Makena was determined to fight, wether it be to get Muli away or physically fight a human, she was ready.

Alha & Shalah | F | Alpha & Medic | Strays United | M: Their pack
Alha relaxed as they reached the edge of the meadow before pausing at the edge of the woods. Once Shadow was gone, she dropped her herbs to look back at her little pack. Two of her scavengers came up to her, wondering what was going on and she took a moment to look each of them over. Other than looking a bit wet, they looked fine. She sighed before explaining, "The camp was found by dogcatchers. We only got out safely due to a warning from a friend and a distraction. Our regrouping point will be at a small clearing in the forest before we head towards the base of the mountains to stay for a bit."

Before either of them could say a word, she said, "I know that you are aware of the Shadow Forest Pack that is in the forest. Alpha Shadow has already given his permission that we are allowed to stay in his territory until we can figure something out. I need you two to keep a bit ahead of us to watch out for traps. Foxes like to lay them out all around so be wary of where you put your feet." Alha tilted her head at them before spotting Harry heading, well limping they're way.

Shalah brushed against Kaara reassuringly, knowing the female was a bit nervous at Shadow's entrance. Sometimes, even Shalah was wary of him when he was in a bad mood. When they got to the resting point, she gently put the pup down before looking over everyone for injuries. The two brothers came back and she shook out her pelt before seeing Harry come back. Her ears flattened as she took in his injuries before she growled in a no-talkback tone, "I have limited quantity of herbs and you just had to get into trouble. Stay in the front so I can keep an eye on you."

Loki | M | Scavenger | Strays United | M: Harry, the pack
Loki trotted, not caring if he was leaving Harry behind. The dog could take care of himself, so he said. Besides, it wouldn't be his fault if the guard didn't make it back to the pack. He could always make up an excuse. Unfortunately though, the male did catch up to him. Erm..he meant fortunately. Packmates forever. Not. At the question, he shrugged. "Dunno. Anywhere from the dogcatchers right now." Loki said before hearing the howl from Shalah. Only reason he remembered her name was because she was Alha's sister. Had to stay on her good side to stay on Alha's.

At Harry's growl, Loki was tempted to slide some broken glass under the guards feet. He decided against it, turning back to trot after Harry. The dog already had enough injuries to be embarrassing. When they reached the scent of wolf, Harry started following it. Loki paused for a moment, taking in the scent. It had changed only slightly from the last time it was in town. Everytime he brought the unknown scent up to Alha, she would brush it off. Harry disappeared but there was no way Loki was going to follow the scent of a wolf. Shalah's howl had come from where the hunting grounds were so that's where Loki would start his search.

Loki headed down an alleyway, trotting along as if he owned the streets. Technically, he did. He knew every street like the back of his paws. He stopped though as a van turned into his alleyway. He turned back the way he came just to find another one. Ooo, how this day was becoming fun. Loki backed up, not even pretending to be scared before he bounded forward to jump onto the hood of the van. The human inside yelled but he wasn't sticking around. He jumped to the top before sliding off the roof. Good luck humans, turning that thing around.

He turned a corner before heading down a road. He knew it would turn into the highway which was perfect. No one stopped on a highway. After a bit, he made it to the side and waited for a gap to open up. Once it did, he ran to the middle before continuing down the small strip of grass that split the two roads. Unlike most dogs, he was comfortable with the rushing wind as the cars went by. He loped down it for a while, seeing a van go by before waiting for another gap to come through. Soon enough, here came one. It would be close but Loki was quick. Darting through the traffic, he made it to the side with no incident before heading towards the meadow.

After a couple minutes, yep, there it was. He bent his head, picking up the pack's scent. Loki let his tongue loll out as he strided into the meadow and saw the pack huddled near the tree line. After a brief scan, he noted that the brothers- comical and hilarious to work with -were back as was Harry. He loped towards them before coming to sit next to Alha. "Back. Miss me?" Loki said with a grin and Alha rolled her eyes. "Where's Lily?" She asked before Loki sighed, flattening his ears in fake sympathy. "Dogcatchers got to her while I was getting Harry," Loki said in a small tone he had mastered from pups who pretended they didn't do anything wrong. He picked his words carefully, intending on the message being that it was Harry's fault that the female was taken.

Flame & Foxes | Shadow Forest Pack | M: Makena, Muli
Flame tilted her head as she heard Makena run off through the trees. Mist scampered up the tree and took off after the other female, keeping up with ease. She would pause every so often to make sure she could still see Frost. Frost threaded himself around Flame's paws for a moment before taking off, Flame going into a lope to keep up with him without running him over. His tail flicked against her running legs every so often, keeping her on the path.

Mist reached the den with Makena and poked her head in before pulling back to scamper up the tree. She could hear the humans close by with their machines. Flame and Frost got there a couple moments later and Flame waited patiently for Makena to come out. At her question, Flame said calmly, "The humans seem to be nearby but unaware of us yet. I don't hear them shouting yet so we'll use that to our advantage. Bring out your friend and I'll carry him to our meeting point with Shadow. You can ride on my back if your tired." Frost nodded, agreeing with her even though she couldn't see the gesture. "I will guide Flame back down the paths while Mist runs ahead and disables any traps that might get in our way." Frost said, flicking an ear.

Icicle | F | Fox | Shadow Forest Pack | M: Anya, Bri(ind)
Icicle watched Flame break into a run and disappear before sighing. She always worried about the elder but Flame could take care of herself. As she started to walk, Anya matched her pace asking questions. Even with the pup in her mouth, her words were pretty clear. At least, clear enough for Icicle to understand. At the first question, Icicle cackled a laugh, "Oh, she can run alright. As for fighting, well, her fighting style is a bit different than most. As she is blind, she relies on knowing where her opponent is from sound and vibrations from the ground. I think she'll teach you about vibrations later. She can almost beat Shadow in a fight especially at night." Icicle said grinning.

At her next question, Icicle's smile faded and her ears flattened. "Mist gives all of us foxes a bad name. She thinks that every animal should have certain standards. Us foxes have to be cold and uncaring, know everything about traps, and unwelcoming." Icicle said this with a growl in her voice before she sighed, "Wolves to her standards need to be useful, like smart and knowing how to hunt and fight. If they can't do any of that, and even doesn't look intimidating, they aren't of worth to keep around." Icicle scuffed her claws across a rock crossly before she said, "She'll learn that's not true once you learn. Hopefully, you can teach her a lesson." She looked slightly hopeful at Anya before looking away.

At the questions on Shadow, Icicle paused for a moment before saying, "That camp was ours a year ago. A few of the pack died and Flame got permanently blinded. We don't talk about it much." She turned down another path, skirting around a small clearing, flicking her tail towards the center. "Small critters run across there and get snapped in half. Good for running away from humans as they get their feet stuck in them." She pointed out the leaves covering the trap before continuing on. "As of where he is, he might be checking on the dog pack. He does that every so often. They are in the same danger as we are if the humans catch them."

Icicle paused before hopping over a fallen tree. She waited on the other side, still talking as she waited for Anya to join her. "The camp we are going to is an actual wolf pack's. We will have to be a bit careful without Shadow as he knows the alpha. The alpha, however, does not know you and doesn't especially like us foxes. I can blame Frost for that impression." Icicle said, sticking out her tongue as if her brother was beside her. Granted, sometimes she would join in on his tricks but not as harshly as he did it sometimes.

Shaking those thoughts out of her head, she said, "The wolves at the camp, I believe, don't know about our pack though. We're going to have to be careful. Only a few of them know and I'm not sure if the alpha is even in camp. We'll just wait at the meeting point for Shadow for a bit before we worry about that." Icicle continued walking once Anya was beside her again. She flicked her ears at the last question, sheesh, for a female that was half scared of her at the beginning, she sure was asking a lot of questions. Not that Icicle minded, she loved talking and Frost hated being talked to. It was nice to actually talk to someone for once.

"Get on Shadow's good side? Worth it?" Icicle stopped as they got to the river. She sat down in front of Anya before looking her in the eyes, "Let's make something clear right now. Shadow would not have accepted you into this pack if he didn't think you were worth his time or training. The fact that you are here, no its not about the pup on this matter, is that he sees something in you that us foxes have yet to see. Me being completely honest--I know that you are a fast learner but beyond that, you have no fighting skills to protect your pup or help hunt for this pack."

Icicle paused before smiling up at Anya, "Which is why I was surprised when Shadow said he would train you. Secondly, our little pack might be your only chance but Shadow isn't just going to leave you to fend for yourself when he knows you can't fight. Besides, between him and me, your not leaving this pack until you can fight and hunt." Icicle said befor winking, "If you do want to leave after all that training that is." She giggled before going to the riverside to take a couple laps of water. After she was finished drinking, she came back over to wherever Anya was and sat down.

"As to how to impress him, be yourself and pay attention. Listen and practice what he shows you to learn faster. And when you think you know it, rethink it and pay even more attention. Get it right the first time and you'll be solid." Icicle said, grinning. At the last statement, Icicle tilted her head before saying, "I believe Frost was to teach you socialism with the other foxes. As you know most of the foxes now, he probably will be teaching you how to hunt. Although," Icicle paused dramatically before curling her tail around her paws, "if you get tired of Frost, I can always teach you. I have no traps up in the mountains so it would be useless for me to try to teach you about traps." She said, looking slightly hopeful again. She enjoyed being around Anya rather than being near her brother.

Icicle flicked her tail a few times in silence before she said quietly, "I hope you decide to stay with us even after you learn to fight and hunt. It's been a while since I've had someone to talk to." She paused, looking at her paws, "No one really wants to talk to a fox," she muttered quietly, her ears flattening on her head.

/Harry/M/Guard/Strays United/M: Shalah, Alha, Loki, Kaara/
Harry looked at Shalah with a grumpy glare. He didn't want to take orders from her, nor anyone to be honest, except for Alha.
He sighed, and thought out his answer. Would he listen, or talk back? The right thing to do would be to listen, after all, she was the healer. His life could rest at her paws at some point. Did he have anything left though, that was the question.
.
He sat in front of the healer, his ears back , adrenaline slowly fading from the fight earlier.
He listened to her words, his chocolate eyes narrow.
"If you speak the truth, then don't waste your herbs on me. I am a farm dog. It's not the worst pain I've endured. I would much rather pick up the end of the pack, hurt or not." His eyes fierce with a flame slowly dying behind them.
The last of his words rumbled out of his throat. Oh how much he wanted water...
.
Harry's ears caught the sound of a dog coming close. His head snapped around and scanned the area. His nose caught the scent on Loki, causing his eyes to narrow again.
He didn't hate Loki.... but he was always playing jokes. Harry didn't find jokes funny. He was far too serious for any of it, and found them rather quite annoying.
He let out a big sigh, and muttered something along the lines of "Oh. He didn't get caught. Bummer." Under his breath.
.
He watched his slide up next to Alha. Once again, a puppy in love. He rolled his eyes, and looked away.
...
It took about 34 seconds for him to look back. It annoyed him that Loki was always trying to stay on her good side. It shouldn't take too much effort, right?
Then again, was he on anyone's good side? He doubted it.
.
He laid down, watching, waiting. Waiting for what? The time to strike.
He saw his chance. He raised his black muzzle up, make eye contact with the smaller male, and spoke, the fire behind his eyes getting larger.
"Miss you? Hardly. I'd forgotten you were a thing." He said, sarcastically.
.
Harry's eyes fell to the ground as Alha spoke about Lily, his ears going back sympathetically.
"I'm sorry-" Loki cut him off, making it sound like it was his fault! The nerve of this dog!
He stood up, his leg throbbed. Blood slowly crept down his neck out of his cut.
His eyes no longer sad for the lost of their packmate, but now just mad at another.
.
He slowly walked towards Loki... more like stalked towards him, his shoulder blades powerfully gliding him forward.
He stopped him front, head down, teeth showing as he growled.
"How dare you pretend that you are sad. You didn't even try to help her! You left her, said it wasn't worth it!" He barked, knowing that it would be dumb to attack, but using all self control that he had to keep himself from doing so.
.
He glanced at Alha, and back at Loki. He met his alphas eye, and backed off. He then took Loki's gaze with his own glare.
"And quite rolling around at Alha's paws. It's making me nauseous." He said, his tone falling flat.
.
He retreated back to Kaara, his face going neutral.
"Are you okay? Do you need anything?" He glanced at Shalah. She had a weird response to Kaara's puppies just that morning. He wondered why.
.
He knew humans were relentless and would take stray pups just to fight them for fun. Maybe that was why?
.
He shook of the thought, and laid down, the heat catching up with him and his thick coat. He panted slightly, his tongue only slightly out of his parted jaws.
He looked around, scanning for any danger. He didn't like sitting around like this. They were sitting ducks in a pond that was surrounded by hunters, and these hunters were hungry for duck.
.
His attention got drawn to a bush that shook slightly. He watched his closely, before determining that it wasn't a threat, and instead a squirrel; something he'd been taught to never chase.
.
His attention went back to his Alpha and her pet, the weasle. He watched and waited for her next command, like a dog hanging onto his masters every word... because that was what he was.

Comanche & Apollo | Males | Scavengers | Strays United | M: Their pack.
><
The brothers made eye contact when Alha spoke of the Shadow territory, neither trusted that alpha like their own, but they would be thankful regardless. Apollo took a deep breathe. "We went to camp first, it was empty, no humans yet either there." Comanche followed that up. "We'll head out right away-," he paused, getting distracted by Alha's eyes. Both spotted dogs looked back to see Harry ..hobbling toward them.
Comanche took a few steps forward to the injured dog, eyeing him. His ears were wedged forward to see if he was hurt too badly, his blue eyes twitching. He backed up a little, he looked like he would make it to where they were resting.
Comanche turned, seeing the heated look in Harry's eyes. There was Loki. His ears twitched. He turned and walked to Apollo, turning in-line with his brother, knowing Harry's distaste for that trickster. The brothers were contemplating what to do as Harry lashed out. Neither liked inter-pack conflict but they would stop it if they were told to or needed to.
Apollo waited till Harry stopped his barking, and Loki stopped speaking to Alha before he finished what he was saying. "Sorry, Alha, we can go ahead straight away." He offered, his eyes darting around the pack. He looked at Apollo, neither wanted to leave if a fight broke out. Not that none of the girls would be capable of fight but it would make them feel better if there was backup.
Both stood sentient beside each other, watching.

Kaara & Pups | F | Queen | Strays United | M: Strays Pack.
><
Kaara felt the gentle comforting brush from the medic. She sighed. She was a little nervous, she'd never been this far. Let alone with pups. She looked around at the grass then at the two spotted dogs. Who'd both nodded as they passed and went to Alha, her ears twitched, comforted by how little attention they'd paid other than stealing glances around the pack. Even though they looked about twice her size.
She glanced down and saw that Shalah had put her pup down, She put Teeli down and picked up her son by the scruff and piled her pups. Then laid beside them. Letting them nurse if they were hungry, which they were.
Her hair stood on end, seeing Harry. She watched him limp, what happened? Her eyes darted around, then there was yelling! It was very fast and made her growl, curling over the pups, bristling the fur on her neck.
She hoped nothing physical would break out, looking back at her pups to distract herself. Then there was Harry, concerned about her? She looked up at him quite fast- "No, no I'm good, you should rest," She suggestest, keeping calm. Or as calm as she could.
Looking around, hoping they might get under more cover sometime soon. Paranoia creeping under her overprotective skin. She basically jumped when she heard the rustling in a bush, relieved when she saw it was a squirrel. Pull yourself together Ka, You have.. wolves on your side. She wasn't sure if that was comforting or not.

The loner listened intently to the alphas words. Her audits perked forward as her crown titled down a bit, her green orbs squinting a bit as the two talked. It was then a low growl released from the faes throat, her auditories flicking back. "Sad? What's sad is that you pack wolves have to live together in order too survive.. That is what is sad.." she mentioned toward the alpha who spoke his peace first before tranffering her attention toward the other alpha, "Once again.. I only attacked that little shrimp because he attacked me first.. And as for Fallon.. Your.. Beta? She's nothing but talk.. You should really think about getting a new one." she mentioned, flicking her audits before noticing a glint of something in the bushes behind her before getting a faint, yet familiar scent. A grin spread wide onto the females face before her attention was drawn toward the first alpha questioning her. The loner stood, holding her cranium high, her banner flicking behind her. "If you can't see that apprentice's potential.. That's sad.." she mentioned toward him, "She has potential to be much more than any of you.. But, being in that pack slows her down greatly.." she stated before looking over at the bush once more, "I suggest getting your female back to camp, Illusion.." she chuckled, looking over at the male before turning her attention toward Night. "I suggest sending big wolves.. Not puny ones.." she grinned, flicking her banner before turning and trotting off, her banner swaying intently behind her.

Anya| f | SFP | M: Icicle
Throughout the whole conversation, Icicle had her ups and downs. She hoped the downs weren't that bad, because she truly didn't mean to make Icicle upset.
~
Anya was glad Flame could fight, and she was honestly curious to see her in action. She was surprised to hear that Flame could almost beat Shadow. That would be a sight to behold. Sadly she knew it would be a while before she got to see that....or maybe not. An idea landed in her mind but before she could actually think about it Icicle countinued.
~
Anya listened to Icicle, her own ears going back slightly. She didn't really know what to think, but how did Mist even know she couldn't do those things? She forgot all about her question when Icicle brought up her teaching her a lesson. Did Icicle actually think she would be able to? It also put some slight pressure on Anya. What if she couldn't do it? And what if she let Icicle down?
~
Again she wasn't able to think about that for long because Icicle countinued. She felt bad for Shadow and Flame, for all of them really. It must've been really hard. She knew it was hard for her to loose her family. Anya then followed Icicle around a clearing, slightly confused. When Icicle explained, she nodded and looked at the perfectly hidden trap for a second. She then quickly jumped over a fallen tree, catching up to Icicle before listening again.
~
Anya was excited and happy that they were going to a actual wolf pack, even if the wolves might be leary of them. But with Shadow she knew it would be alright. She wasn't going to say anything, but she understood why the pack didn't like the foxes. Before she met Icicle, she thought all foxes were sly, mean creatures with a wicked smile. Now that she knows Icicle however, she knows that isn't always true.
~
Anya stopped and watched Icicle sit infront of her. She didn't know what to say so she just looked away. If anything, she was just as confused as the foxes when it came to what Shadow saw in her. Even to her, she looked, and felt like she was just like Mist thought, not worth the trouble. Like Icicle said, she couldn't fight or hunt. Anya flicked an ear towards Icicle when she began to talk again. She finally looked back at Icicle, and seeing her smiling face, Anya couldn't help but smile too. Icicle could be so serious one minute, then smiling the next, but one thing was for sure, she was a good friend. Anya sighed, watching Icicle go get a drink. While she drank, she took up a spot by the river and layed down, letting Bri drink. She felt slightly vulnerable but she knew her pup was hungry.
.
Anya had spaced off but turned her attention back to Icicle when she sat beside her and began to talk again. She didn't think being herself was a good idea because she was really just a big pup. She rather play than anything, but she could definitely pay attention. She probably wouldn't be able to get in on the first try, but she would certainly try. When things grew silent, Anya turned her focus back to listening. She was tempted to think instead of listening but she didn't really want to overheat her brain from all the thinking. After a minute or two, she heard Icicle talk quietly. Anya frowned slightly, her ears flattening. She had forgotten Icicle couldn't read her mind, and that she would have to straight up tell her she didn't plan on leaving, ever. "Im not going to abandoned you guys, especially after all you are and are going to do. I know it's cheesy, but you guys are kinda like family. And family doesn't use family for a purpose and then run off. I have no intention of leaving, ever. You guys, and especially you Icicle, make me feel like i dont have to be alone anymore."
.
Anya looked at the rushing river and sighed. "I dont know what Shadow sees in me, but i intend to try my best to become a good fighter and hunter." At that moment, Brielle got full and stopped feeding, making an idea pop into Anya's head. A smile appeared on her face as she nuzzled her pup to Icicle. "I could tell you wanted to snuggle her before we went out for our lesson, so here." Anya then turned back to the river and layed her head down on her paws. "Im not gonna lie, i understand why others dont like to talk to foxes, but if you ever want to talk, im here. I like talking to you, and im glad we both dont have to be lonely anymore. If you want, we can even be best friends." Anya wasn't going to straight up tell Icicle what happened to make her not like foxes, and how she ended up here, but if she asked, whe would tell her. If Icicle really wanted to know, she deserved to know. She was kinda the only reason Anya wasn't as scared of foxes as before. That and she knew she had to get along with them because Shadow wanted her to.

Loki | M | Scavenger | Strays United | M: Harry, the pack
Loki slid his eyes over to Harry as the other male stalked over. Yep, he hit a nerve. When the other male barked at him, he blinked slowly keeping his cool. Once Harry was finished, Loki said with practiced ease, "After getting the dogcatcher's wire around your neck, you were in a pretty sore position. I decided to go after you first when clearly, you would rather have died and left the pack unprotected." Loki eyed Harry before saying with a mock frown, "You do realize that you are our last guard right? Without you, there will be no one to protect the pack while us scavengers are out looking for food."

Loki turned the situation back onto Harry, giving the clear indication that Harry didn't care about the pack. The males injuries would do the rest of the work. The slice on his neck showed the truth on the dogcatchers and his other wounds as signs as well. Shalah gave Loki a look and he flicked his ears, signaling his worry. Shalah took that as a cue to collect her herbs and start on Harry's injuries. At the second statement, Loki raised an eyebrow before saying evenly, "I'm only doing what any loyal packmate would do. I don't put myself in danger when there is no reason to or unless the pack needs help."

Alha watched all of this and finally intervened, "Enough you two. You've both made your point clear. We have bigger concerns at the moment." Loki dipped his head respectfully before standing up. The two brothers stood sentinel nearby and he tilted his head at them before starting to walk over to join them. He paused though as Alha said, "Comanche. Apollo. Watch out for traps. I believe there is one right behind you. After that one, there should be a trail that leads to the camp. Scout it out and make sure the humans haven't reached it yet. We'll be right behind you." Loki turned back before making his way over to Shalah who had finally finished doing Harry's wounds.

"Do you need me to carry anything?" He asked and Shalah pointed with her tail where the herbs laid. Loki scooped them up and took up a place next to Shalah as the female said gently to the female beside her, "It's time to move to a safer place now. I know this is all stressing for you but I don't want humans to catch you or the pups." Shalah seemed to be waiting for permission to take one of the pups again rather than just taking it like Loki would have done. Although, he would only do that if he knew the female. This new female would probably snap at him.

Loki flattened an ear in jealousy as Alha took a place next to Harry to support him. He knew the male didn't like the female like he did but still seeing her with someone else made him want to growl. Which was hard to do with a mouthful of herbs. And not wanting to startle the queen beside him so he decided against it.

Alha | F | Alpha | Strays United | M: Harry, her pack
After she intervened and gave her orders, she shook her head as she watched Loki head off to help Shalah. The male meant well--somtimes--but had a tendency to get on the other dogs nerves rather than calming then. It reminded her of the one fox Shadow kept with him. He had that knack to get on the bad side of everyone he met. On top of that, he strayed more as a lone dog than a pack member.

Despite that, he stayed with the pack. Why, she was still figuring out but he was quite loyal to her. She needed as many of those that she could get. She watched her now scouts for a moment before heading over to Harry. Alha paused, watching Loki pick up the herbs and Shalah asking Kaara about the pups. They still had a ways to go to be safe but at least the pups managed to nurse for a little bit. Alha moved to Harry's side, supporting him so he could make the bumpy walk. Before he could complain, she said, "Loki is right about one thing. You are my only guard and protection to this pack. We need as much of that as we can especially now."

Alha flicked an ear, giving Harry a hard look, "And just because you are a guard doesn't mean you die to protect the pack in a situation like that, if at all. I would rather have you alive than dead." She said before pausing. After a moment, she said quietly, "And I would rather have you than the new dog. Yes, perhaps she would have come around sometime, but you are more important to the pack. Any of the dogs that go to the pound either gets killed or adopted. Lily will have a chance to get adopted so I'm not too worried about her anymore."

Marbled watched the female, noticing her breath deepening.
"Just focus." She said softly. The whines of pain slightly disturbed her, and hoped that she would never have to go through the pains of puppy birth.
She watched in amazement as the pups came. Marbled sat back, and let the new mother do all the work, not wanting to get in the way.
"Good jo-" Her words cut off as the last puppy came out, unmoving. Eyes wide, and swimming with concern, she rushed forwards.
.
Once she realized that it was dead, she quickly started to lick the top of her head, trying to comfort her.
If this was me, how would I want to be comforted? She wondered.
"It's not your fault, you couldn't have done anything to save them. You did your best, and have two live puppys." She said, hoping her words weren't hurtful. Comfort was not her thing...
"Stay here, and I'll go and get Ianuaria. Hopefully she'll have time to check over your pups." She said, pity in her eyes as she briskly turned to leave the den and find the young medic.
She glanced back at the weeping mother, not wanting to leave her.
.
She ran around camp, trying to find Ianuaria. Once she did, she was out of breath.
She stopped in front of her.
"Ianuaria, Saige has had her pups, and one isn't breathing, would you mind going and checking them all over?" She asked, worry in her green eyes.
