Eirian | M | Apprentice | Golden Forest M: Dapple (indirect) Eirian sat hidden in the undergrowth, watching two small rabbits grazing next to one another. He made no attempt to move towards or away from them, but his nose twitched with interest and excitement. He'd been sitting here for some time now, simply watching. He liked watching their ears bobble as the hopped around, and how quickly they chewed the grass. They looked up a lot, and Eirian was discovering why they were considered lucky. They seemed to detect such small movements, it was a wonder wolves could catch them so often. He wished desperately to be a hunter one day, to be able to run alongside other wolves in the pack. He could practically feel the wind in his fur as he imagined chasing after a deer. The apprentice ever so slowly lifted his head, swiveling his ears forwards towards the rabbits. His nose continued to twitch, and he was getting more and more tempted to attempt a kill. He knew the food pile was low, and he had a certain someone he wanted to share a meal with. Perhaps he could catch that meal himself. I bet she would be pleased. he thought to himself, picturing the pretty young she-wolf. Dapple was the other apprentice in the pack, being trained by one of the stronger warriors in the pack. Eirian had a fondness for her, his heart fluttering at the thought of her. Dapple | F | Apprentice | Golden Forest Pack | M: Rameses Dapples paws skimmed the earth beneath her as she flew through the trees and undergrowth, her ears pinned to her head as her tail streaked behind her. Her mouth hung open, tongue lolling in the air as she barked with excitement. The valley came into view and she bunched her muscles, breaking through the treeline. Only a moment later a strong paw caught her hip, throwing her off balance. She let her body fall with the momentum to limit the damage done, gasping in surprise. She rolled instinvtively to her paws, panting as she whirled around at the sharp nip at her hind legs. Instincts took over as she bared her teeth, lunging forward towards her mentor, hoping to take him by surprise. She kept her body low to avoid his paws, dashing between his front legs to throw him off balance.

Rameses | M | Warrior | Golden Forest Pack M: Dapple The large warrior was more than pleased with how quickly his apprentice responded to the situation. He was surprised at her speed and her swiftness, easily able to dart between his front legs and knock him off balance. Rameses stumbled a bit and quickly swiveled his massive head around and nipped her again, this time on the back of her hip. He was hoping to distract her with the nips, his teeth grazing her lightly on different places almost non stop. He kept his little bites on her legs and hips, demonstrating the offensive attack. If she was a real opponent in battle, he would do this until there was a spot open to launch for the throat. Since she was not his size or a real threat to him, he obviously refrained from genuinely hurting her. After several minutes of spinning, chasing, and nipping, Rameses reared up, inviting her to do the same. He dropped his paws back down on the ground and turned tail, running away from her, initiating a chase. As she caught up to him he spun around and barreled into her, knocking her back down to the ground, his jaws snapping towards her neck. He made no contact with his teeth in order not to hurt her, but his large front paws came down onto her shoulders, pinning her to the dirt. "You put up a great fight, Dapple!" he praised her, backing up off of her to allow her to get up. "Tell me what you noticed during the fight." he said. "Did you notice any offensive attacks from me?" Felis | M | Apprentice | Dark Pines | M: Kírari, Yukon (dir), Kodiak (ind) Embarrassed, Felis scuttled away, keeping his head down. His spirits brightened considerabliy when he saw Kirari and Yukon, and he bounded over to the soon-to-be-mother and Head Warrior. "Hello Kirari, Yukon. Is there anything I can do to help?" He asked, respectfully dipping his head too both of them. He didn't particularly like training with Kodiak, and if he helped out around camp, he couldn't be accused of not helping out. Besides, he rather liked Kirari. She was much nicer than Kodiak. Though Yukon stressed out Felis. He was always desperate to impress her, but the large warrior was almost impossible to please. It was exauhsting.

Dapple | F | Apprentice | Golden Forest Pack | M: Rameses Dapple's coat was slick with sweat by the time her mentor turned and fled, leaving her to chase him across the meadow. The sudden change in tactic throwing her, made only worse when he suddenly spun and tackled her to the ground, his teeth snapping closed just a few inches away from her throat. He moved off of her, leaving her panting on the earth for a few heartbeats before she stood on slightly shaking legs. Her eyes glowed with the adrenaline and excitement as she tried to focus on what she had noticed during the training session. Nodding slowly as she put the pieces together she sat down, letting herself rest while she spoke. "You kept nipping at my haunches and back legs. I think it was to distract me? Get me into the mindset that you weren't targeting anything more vulnerable until an opening came in?" She turned her head up towards him, eyes glittering. "Thats what I would do in your position, especially with my size."

Arya | F | Hunter | Dark Pines M: Angola Following the other female's gaze, she shuddered. "Something is so wrong about this..." she murmured, momentarily forgetting about their current duty of hunting. She was deeply disturbed, though she was unsure what about it disturbed her so greatly. Something about it, everything about it, just felt... wrong. Arya could not believe humans would kill a deer just for the head. There wasn't much there to eat. And humans usually ate weird processed foods. "I mean, why just the head? And why here? We haven't seen any sign of humans in decades. At least, that's what everyone's ever said," she said quietly. A shiver ran along her spine, her fur spiking a little with discomfort and unease.

Rameses | M | Warrior | Golden Forest Pack | M: Dapple "Very good!" The large warrior praised, smiling down at his apprentice. "That's nearly exactly it! Nipping and biting at the legs and ankles provide distraction, yes, but it's also an antagonizing tactic. It's meant to help disorient your opponent into a frenzy." He flicked his ear, shooing a fly away. "Constant bites and nips will aggravate a wolf beyond belief, and they'll spin to try and deflect your bites. If the teasing goes on long enough, they'll drop their guard and leave room for the vunerable places to be exposed." He swung his tail around to lightly bap her on the shoulder with it. "You did well by using her size to squeeze under me and move around without me being able to get you as easily." Rameses was excited to see her skills grow. "Try the nipping tactic on me now, and use your head wisely!" he said, standing up. "Don't just think about what I'm teaching you now, but remember what you've learned in previous lessons. Study my movements, and decide what to do from there." Angola | F | Hunter | Dark Pines | M: Arya "I agree," Angola said, shuddering. "Humans in our territory can only mean bad news." She stared at the carcass. "If they can dispose of prey like this...what's stopping them from doing the same to us? What happens if they take our food?" She looked around at the trees. "What happens if they take our home? Our land?" The hunter shifted on her paws uncomfortably. Those were irrational thoughts. She didn't need to be worrying about it, it was only one carcass after all. But she still didn't like it. "I say we try and gather as much prey as possible," she said, beginning to move further into the trees. "Before any two-leggeds take any more."

Yukon | F | Dark Pines | Head Warrior | M: Kirari, Felis(dir), Kodiak(ind) Yukon would listen to the females small complaint about not sleeping and frowned a bit. "Awh, I'm sorry. But, just think, here soon you'll have little ones running around." She stated, gently flicking her tail about behind her. Yukon always loved talking about puppies, though, her happiness wouldn't last for long as Felis walked up to them. Looking at the apprentice, Yukon stopped and lowered her audits too her head, "Kodiak has been looking for you, go find her." She told the young wolf in a rather harsh tone, knowing well if he was her apprentice he'd be on patrol duty with Kaisen, and nobody liked that. She didn't like others who didn't listen to authority, even though sometimes she didn't herself. Akela | M | Dark Pines | Warrior | M: Kaisen(dir), Strifle(ind) As they trotted, Akela looked back at Kaisen, "What do you think Alpha will say? Do you think he'll have us go on lookouts and try to fight?" He asked, being a rather curious wolf. Akela knew he'd probably annoy the shit out of Kaisen, but he truly didn't care.

Kaisen : M : Warrior : Dark Pines The male frowned, his ears flicking in slight annoyance. "I don't know what the alphas will do. That's their decision." A slight pause, and then, "But I hope they fight." Arya : F : Hunter : Dark Pines The female nodded in agreement. She decided to quickly mark the territory near the deer, rubbing herself against the trees. With a huff, she bounded off into the trees to continue hunting.

Dapple | F | Apprentice | Golden Forest Pack | M: Rameses Dapple jumped to her paws, her tail swaying rapidly from side to side as she started planning the attack in her head. She barely gave her mentor a breath after his instructions before she leapt, sliding under him and nipping at his front legs, then his belly, then his bak legs as she came out on the other side of him. She added in several blows with her claws, nipping and swatting at his hind end and back legs. She did this, keeping her eyes trained on him. When he moved, so did she. When he would whirl around to try and counter her or to attack her himself, she would slide out from under his paws and dark around him. Finally, she saw the opening she needed. Bunching the muscles in her hindlegs she leapt, coming down square on his shoulders, her teeth closing around the scruff of his neck as she let herself slide sideways, hoping to pull him onto his side, thus exposing his belly and throat.
